Having been on any Reality TV, let alone the Real Housewives specifically, I'm always looking at these shows with double vision. I'm seeing the action just as all the viewers do, and also looking behind the scenes at how everything is put together, which always fascinates me.

This week we go deep into wedding planning with Joanna Krupa and Adriana de Moura, lots of gorgeous Birkin bags, kittens, and puppies. And did you HEAR the gossip? Someone revealed a Housewives contract! Are they for real?

I had to laugh when Lisa Hochstein cried over a Birkin bag. I don't know anyone, ever in my life, who has done that. And I know a lot of characters.

As the bridal party casting heats up, I go into reality TV weddings versus real weddings…should you have to choose cast members as bridesmaids and if you do, are you allowed to give them ultimatums? Perhaps Joanna is secretly the Gawker Bridezilla

Alexia Echevarria and her son are breaking my heart – what do you do when your son’s father is an ex-convict?? In this week’s video we learn what to do, and what NOT to do when you and your child have problems surrounding your divorce.

Finally….did you see that story where the reporter supposedly got hold of a New Jersey Housewives contract?  I saw it, I read it, and I give you MY take on it.

Who is the most annoying bride -- Adriana or Joanna?

Also, tell me in the comments or on twitter what you want know about I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding as tomorrow I’ll have a brand new episode covering the first two shows!

kailyn lowryI'm going to be honest here. In the past, when I've heard the words "theme" and "wedding" together in one sentence, I died a little inside. Something about a themed wedding just seems kind of wrong. But when I saw Teen Mom Kailyn Lowry's positively adorable Under the Sea themed wedding ceremony, I ate my words. Put a little salad dressing on them and ate them right up. And let me tell you: They were bitter going down.

Kailyn shared some super cute snaps of her recent ceremony to Javi Marroquin, and the whole day looks unbelievable (but, let's be honest here, her son, Isaac, in a tux steals the show). The lighting is low; the colors are gorgeous; and, well, for a wedding with a theme, it looks pretty classy.

But here's what I love best about this: Kailyn couldn't look happier. There she is, grinning from ear to ear, pregnant as all get out, arm full of tattoos, not caring what anyone thinks. That's what's most beautiful about this day. She decided to say "screw it" to tradition and did things exactly the way she wanted. I admire that.

But not as much as I admire this photo of Isaac. Good god, does this kid know how to wear a tux. Congrats, Kailyn and Javi!

What Was Totally Staged at Tamra Barney's Wedding and the Biggest 'Housewives' Twitter Wars (VIDEO)

Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge are married!! Congrats to them. And hey, if it’s your third wedding, why NOT have three bridal gowns?? I say go BIG or go HOME, but what did Tamra’s family say, and which former Housewife made a surprise appearance on the finale episode of Tamra's OC Wedding?

Meanwhile on The Real Housewives of Miami, I saw so much back story, it almost distracted me from the actual episode! Mama drama, the biggest HIVES I’ve ever seen, and where I call producer meddling ...

The Tamra Barney Judge wedding spinoff is over! I loved seeing the gorgeous ceremony come together, but of course I’m always looking for what you DON’T see behind-the-scenes, noticing placement of cast members, camera setups, and of course promotional consideration -- how much did they pay for all of this?

If you were Tamra and Eddie, wouldn’t you be a little tempted to swing that cake? I know I would ...

Things are so hot in Miami, if I were a producer, I’d wear a HAZ-MAT suit. Most of us love Twitter and Facebook, but how has social media changed the Housewives? This week, we discuss how the fans get involved and can actually drive storylines. We had ladies who worry about whether their children will get dragged into the drama -- I give you my take as to whether Adriana de Moura did a good job with her son or made things worse.

And finally, it wouldn’t be The Real Deal without going deep into the feud between Adriana and Lea Black. Adriana thinks she has a smoking gun, but does she really? Here’s that People Magazine article, and watch the exclusive video for my take on that and so much more! PLUS, now that Tamra's spinoff is over, let me know which shows YOU want me to cover.

'Tamra's OC Wedding' Finale Recap: Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge FINALLY Make it To The Altar and No One Can Stop Crying

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
by Rebecca Stokes 11 hours ago

tamra barney, tamra's oc wedding, eddie judgeTwo things worth noting happened during this, the culmination of 'Tamra's OC Wedding'. The first, Tamra finally got her vagina and butt-hole waxed. It was like a horror movie...for the two male friends she forced into the waxing stall with her. No, but seriously. One of her dudes walked in and actually started screaming and clawing at his eyes while bellowing, "I SAW YOUR MUSSEL!" Classy.

The second and perhaps more pertinent event of this week's episode? Tamra and Eddie Judge got married! It happened! There was even a bike artfully dangling upside down from the ceiling and everything! Because of how Eddie loves bikes! Frankly, I'll admit -- I was pretty sure when we learned that Tamra's dresses weren't going to arrive until the morning of the ceremony that the whole deal was going to devolve into tears and stabbing.

That was not the case. It was fine. All three dresses (THREE DRESSES, Y'ALL) arrived and fit her to perfection. If anything, the whole wedding weekend was so uneventful that it was almost as dull as watching a non-reality star's wedding video. Remember how Tamra was fighting with her brother last week? Well this week they made up and hugged while crying. To be fair, that could have been because they were both drinking moonshine.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was Heather Dubrow and Vicki Gunvalson wearing matching towels to get their wedding makeup done. This excited Heather so much that she trotted out of the room to get hers when she spotted Vicki. The woman literally pranced off while singing, "Then we can be Twinkies!" Pretty sure she meant twins, but hey, maybe she also really, really, likes Hostess baked goods.

There was no family drama at the ceremony. I wouldn't have been well-behaved. I would have been cackling at the officiant who I'm pretty sure had a fake British accent. I bet she has a second career as a sex therapist. She probably hosts all her sessions in a hot tub in her backyard.

Everyone cried either at the ceremony or at the reception. Somewhere a tissue mogul is twirling his mustache and cackling. All the Housewives wept too -- but out of happiness! Yes, in spite of all of Eddie's concerns, the wives were present, and they mostly behaved themselves. Did Gretchen Rossi talk during the entire ceremony? Yes. Was Lydia McLaughlin inexplicably wearing a child's floral crown purchased from Claire's? Maybe. But it was as though Tamra and Eddie's love had healing properties. Even Vicki was happy, all smoochin' up on Gretchen and what have you as Eddie and Tamra cha-cha'ed the night away.

What did you think of the big event?

An Unexpected Enemy Tries to Take Down Tamra Barney Right Before Her Wedding (VIDEO)

Last night was CRAZY in Reality TV land!! Did you watch?? First, on Tamra’s OC Wedding, the bride was nearly burned at the stake. Add to that a swinging cake, a ballooning budget, REALLY bad behavior on the groom’s part, and a family feud.

But that was just the tip of the over-the-top drama!

You may remember on the last season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra Barney filmed a tear-jerker scene with her mother, going over childhood trauma and asking her mother why she never says, “I love you.” The mom was horrified, of course, but they talked it out. Fast forward to the filming of this wedding spinoff and all hell has broken loose. In fact, this time Tamra’s entire extended family is about to kill her. This is what happens when estranged family members see something on television they don’t like, or are embarrassed by. Tamra’s lucky they didn’t set her hair on fire!

Over on The Real Housewives of Miami, the biggest star of the night was a caged panther that should have been allowed to break out of its cage and eat those outrageously catty cast members. The Lea Black backstabbing was brutal. Or perhaps I’m just upset because Lauren Foster stole my line. Or tried to. "Thug in a Ferragamo" doesn’t have quite the same ring as "Thug in a Cocktail Dress," does it?

That wasn't the only guffaw. Guess what fatal mistakes I spotted last night? One was the result of sloppy production and, the other, a Miami cast member making a really bad choice. It’s true what they say, in real life as well as on reality TV, that if you sit on the fence, you get nothing but a pole up your a**. So who’s guilty of this crime? Watch my exclusive video to find out!

Father of Bride Sells 'Amazing' Treasure to Pay for Daughter's Pricey Wedding

spider manWhether you've experienced it firsthand recently or have drawn conclusions from reality shows like Four Weddings and Say Yes to the Dress, you'd have to be living under a rock to not know that weddings are crazy expensive these days! So expensive, in fact, that some people are resorting to selling precious antiques and other valuable possessions just to get their vendors paid! Well, at least that's the route one father of a Cleveland bride took recently.

Richard Schaen, whose daughter Jane is getting married in two weeks, was worried about the cost of the wedding. But then he remembered he has amassed a rather valuable comic book collection over the years. One rare find: A copy of Amazing Spider-Man No. 1, which he bought for 12 cents in 1963. He decided to list it for sale online and ended up nabbing $7,900 for it. Nice!

Turns out that if it had been in even better condition, he may have gotten up to four times that amount! Damn, coulda meant even MORE guests/flowers/hours of open bar! Ha. But no, in all seriousness, Schaen was elated, and told the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

I gave my daughter a promissory note for the money with a picture of the Spider-Man comic, which we can use to pay for a big part of the catering for her reception.

Awesome! SO sweet. But at the same time -- ouch ... I guess Schaen didn't seem too emotionally attached to the comic book, but what a statement his sale makes about a typical wedding's price tag. Note how he said "a big part of the CATERING for her reception." Not even all of the catering. And just the catering. That's not even taking into consideration any venue charges, the decor/flowers, hair/makeup, photographers, videographers, photo booth (or maybe slow motion booth!), wedding rings, honeymoon, officiant fee, ughhh.

More from The Stir: Rude Bride Throws Fit Over $100 Gift in Horrible Message to Wedding Guest

Sure, Jane Schaen could have passed on a wedding with that particular price tag, but maybe she and her fiance wanted to include their whole family. And when it comes to a wedding of a certain style, size, and in a particular location (like the east coast or a bigger city), you quickly learn some things simply cost what they cost. Then it's easy to find yourself feeling like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. But Richard Schaen sure showed us the best fix for that: Be resourceful, start digging, and you may find buried treasure to trade in for wedding cash!

What do you think about what this father of the bride did for his daughter?

Greedy Brides Still Angry at Guests Who Didn't Give Them Wedding Gifts 10 Years Ago

maandag 26 augustus 2013

wedding giftsIt seems as though there is a trend lately of badly behaved brides who expect their wedding guests to provide them with at least the cost of their meal (and then some) at their weddings or to be prepared to face their wrath. First there was the bride who did not enjoy her guest's thoughtful gift basket (and she let them know) and then there was the bride who had the nerve to complain about a cash-strapped guest's "cheap" $100 cash gift. What is wrong with these people?

It seems these rude brides are not alone. An article in the Sunday styles section of the New York Times highlighted a series of brides and grooms, some of whom have been married close to a decade, who are STILL angry over their wedding gifts -- or lack thereof -- and can't forgive the friends who cheated them.

Are they out of their minds? How is this a news story?

When I got married a decade ago, we registered and we got a lot of beautiful, generous gifts. We still use our copper pots and crystal, among other things and when I do, I remember the people who bought each item for me and I appreciate them.

But I also remember the fun of my wedding and the number of people who trekked all the way across the country to see us get married and gave us a ton of love. Whether they gave me gifts or not is really beside the point. I was just glad they were there.

I am not sure when weddings became opportunities to be completely greedy, but it does seem as though they really have. Obviously, weddings are expensive, but if you choose to have a $200 a plate wedding in a part of the country that is very expensive, then that is your choice.

Guests should not be expected to make their gift according to the budget of the bride. A gift is an expression of love and should reflect the budget of the guest. And you know what? A gift is not mandatory, either. There are plenty of circumstances under which it is perfectly acceptable not to bring a gift.

If someone spends more than $2,000 to come to your wedding (hotel, airfare, etc.) then really to ALSO expect a gift is a little selfish. If they can provide one, awesome. But if not, wouldn't we all rather have our loved ones present?

It is sad that we are letting go of all the beauty of weddings in favor of viewing them as fund-raising opportunities. They are not. We are lucky when people come to love us at all. It makes me sad that so few people remember that.

Did you expect a gift from everyone at your wedding?

Kelly Clarkson Will Elope Instead of Letting a Big Wedding Drive Her Crazy

vrijdag 23 augustus 2013

kelly clarkson brandon blackstockKelly Clarkson laid rumors to rest that she's pregnant and having a shotgun wedding, but she confirmed that she is, in fact, eloping! Taking to Twitter late yesterday, she wrote, "FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant. We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony." Good for them!

Still, people were bound to let their imaginations run wild about why she'd nix the elaborate affair, if only because it's kinda hard to understand why a celeb who can get a killer venue, big lush flowers, Grammy Award winners for entertainment, etc., would throw the towel in on the whole she-bang. But I totally get it.

Considering how Kelly said only earlier this week to Ryan Seacrest that she was "so over ... the wedding" and that she "just got so overwhelmed by ... the decisions," it sounds like scaling things down and eloping was a brilliant way to go.

For many brides, there can come a time when you feel like the planning is just all getting away from you, and it's become way bigger and more out of control and stressful than it needs to be. Above all that, it can feel as if it's become about everything except getting married.

More from The Stir: Kelly Clarkson's Wedding Breakdown Was Inevitable

In my case, we have the kinds of families who would have been totally crushed if they hadn't been a part of it all, people who couldn't travel, and all different personalities with varied priorities and preferences, which contributed to a lot of the stress. I'm actually not sure if eloping could have worked for us, though it sure is amusing to entertain the thought!

At the very least, I'm convinced more brides should consider making like Kelly, putting their foot down, and opting to go the more intimate route if it's at all possible ... Especially if going the other way is driving them completely insane!

What do you think about Kelly Clarkson's decision to elope? Do you wish you had?

7 Rules for Calling Off Your Wedding at the Last Minute

Penulis : Unknown on woensdag 21 augustus 2013 | 16:29

woensdag 21 augustus 2013

Billionaire Estee Lauder founder Leonard Lauder cancelled his wedding to his girlfriend at the last minute. Apparently they called guests a few weeks before the wedding to say it was being "postponed," which is code for "ain't gonna happen." I can only imagine that the billionaire and his lady friend must have been planning an elaborate ceremony, with people flying in from everywhere to attend. They probably left a lot of people holding the bag for hotel rooms, tickets, gifts, dresses, etc. But you don't have to be a billionaire to find yourself right smack in the middle of a messy change of heart. What do you do when you decide to cancel your wedding? Here are 7 rules of thumb.

1. Yes, you have to notify everyone. Although it might be tempting to crawl into a hole and disappear for a month, you can't do it. And you have to let them know the wedding is cancelled in no uncertain terms. While some etiquette books recommend saying the wedding is "postponed," I disagree. After my friend called me years ago and left a cryptic message that her wedding was "postponed," I -- like a good bridesmaid -- kept waiting for the call that would let me know when it was back on. My friend, who was understandably embarrassed and avoiding phone calls, was short on details. So I sat on the gift and dress until it was too late to return either. Needless to say, there was no new wedding date. And yes, you can have someone else, like your mother or a friend, do the notifying.

2. No, you don't need to give people a reason. Your friends and family will no doubt get very nosy at this time, and with good reason. You mean you and Chuck, whom you've been with since eighth grade, aren't getting married?? Did he cheat? Did you? Is he gay? Are you? Well, it's none of their business. But you do need to be polite. People will be concerned and curious. Tell them you appreciate their concern, you are fine, but right now you need to deal with the details and will call them in the future if you need to talk.

3. Don't postpone telling people! Let's say you and your fiance are suddenly going back and forth on it. You've got three weeks 'til the wedding. Don't decide to wait until the very last minute. Although it seems counterintuitive to press someone who is suddenly having second thoughts, now is the time to say, "My parents, friends, family are about to buy non-refundable tickets, non-refundable hotel rooms, and gifts for us. I appreciate that you are confused right now and having second thoughts, but it's best if we stop people from spending money they may not get back." None of this is easy with a waffling fiance, but this isn't the time to coddle.

4. Yes, you need to give everything back. All gifts you've already received need to be sent back. All money -- even if you've already spent it on your honeymoon -- needs to be returned. I had a hard time finding any guidelines for what is surely one of the most difficult decisions -- do you pay people back for monies they have already spent for things like tickets, hotel rooms, dresses, that they may not be able to return, even if this means you will be paying off this debt forever? I say yes. You should at least OFFER. Most people will be understanding and let it go. They want you to be happy. But for the people who want their money back, tell them you will get it to them as soon as you can.

5. The ring. Laws vary by state. In some states, it's considered a gift and is yours to keep. In others, it's considered a promise of marriage, and if the marriage doesn't happen, the ring isn't yours to keep. I generally find that it depends on who calls off the wedding and why. I do tend to feel like if you find out something about your fiance that prevents you from getting married (like he's cheating; he's gay; he's secretly a woman; etc.), then you should get to keep the ring. Or if he calls it off for no good reason.

6. If you call it off, you pay up. I had a friend who called off his wedding to his fiancé at the last minute -- for no real reason other than he suddenly got cold feet. He then spent the next couple of years trying to get HER to pay off the debt they'd both accrued in booking a venue, band, and other incidentals that they couldn't get full refunds for. He felt that since SHE was the one who wanted that venue, wanted that band, SHE should pay at least half of the debt. Wrong. SHE wanted to get married. YOU didn't, for no reason other than you didn't -- which is a valid reason, but doesn't mean she should get stuck with debt for a wedding you didn't want. If you call it off for nothing your fiance DID (like cheat or you find out something horrible), then you should pay.

7. No, it's not okay to throw a "pre-wedding divorce party" and keep all of the gifts and expect everyone to come because, hey, they had those hotel rooms anyway. Just no.

Have you ever dealt with a cancelled wedding?

Paralyzed Bride Keeps Her Promise and Walks Down Aisle on Her Wedding Day (VIDEO)

Wedding aisleThere are so many things a bride looks forward to on her wedding day. Those pre-shindig photos with her bridesmaids, getting treated like a queen in the wedding suite, and the first taste of wedding cake -- for starters. But the biggest, greatest moment of all? That walk down the aisle to her future husband. That almost didn't happen for Stevie Beale.

Seven years ago at age 17, Beale was involved in a car accident that paralyzed her from the waist down. It was at a therapy center in Michigan where she met her future husband Jared VanAusdale, a friend of another patient there. This past weekend, after months of intense physical therapy and practice, Stevie walked down the aisle with the help of a walker to meet him at the altar.

Yeah, I got a little choked up too.

It's a beautiful story, one that proves the intense power of love. Stevie told Today that her fiance was the number one reason why she was able to walk down that aisle. After encouraging her through therapy sessions multiple times a week, she looked to him for comfort when it felt like her goal was impossible. In the end, Stevie wanted to prove to herself that with the right kind of attitude and intense determination, she could do even the hardest task she set her mind to. And she did.

Stevie's husband summed up her efforts perfectly: "She could've felt sorry for herself," said VanAusdale. "Instead she grabbed that situation by the horns, turned a negative into a positive, and helped so many people along the way."

Watch Stevie walk down the aisle, here:

How awesome is this?

Facebook Wedding Photo Busts a Clueless Tax Cheat

If you've read one story about how someone posted something they shouldn't have on Facebook, you probably think you've read them all. At least that's what I tend to think -- like, how can someone possibly outdo the stupidest Facebook blunders we've already heard about? Somehow, though, these stories keep rolling in, and each one is a little crazier than the last.

Take the recent example of a 45-year-old British man named Heath Joynson, who collected over $1,500 worth of taxpayers' money through housing and council tax handouts on the basis that he was single and living alone. The only teeny, tiny problem with poor lonely Mr. Joynson's self-described status as a struggling bachelor who needed public assistance to get by? The WEDDING PHOTO he posted on Facebook.

*facebookpalm*

It seems Joynson came under investigation in 2011 after housing officers heard that despite his claims of being single, he was actually married and living with a wife. Fraud investigators began looking at Joynson's social networking profiles, where they immediately discovered a photo of the happy couple smiling as they signed their marriage register.

Sadly, husband and wife eventually separated due to Joynson's alleged heroin use, but not before Joynson pleaded guilty to failing to notify a change of circumstances affecting his entitlement to benefits between September 20, 2010 and January 9, 2011.

According to a city council spokesperson,

The offender tried a host of tricks and lies to avoid his responsibilities. But our determined investigation team found pictures of his marriage ceremony on his wife’s Facebook page. Now he is paying the price of deception and we are sending out a strong message that we will piece together information from a range of sources and expose people who are defrauding the public purse.

Honestly, I am never going to stop being amazed at how clueless people can be with social media. This is as idiotic as the deadbeat dad who weaseled his way out of paying child support for his three kids, but posted a Facebook photo of himself gleefully lying on a pile of cash. People are getting busted by Facebook all the time -- for cheating on their spouses, calling in sick to work, committing crimes, and in one particularly ridiculous case, forgetting to log out after breaking into someone's house, stealing her jewelry, and using her computer to check his status.

I'm not sure if this Joynson guy figured his account was off-limits to investigators or if he just never even considered the possible downsides of sharing his wedding photo when he was collecting cash for being single, but he's now officially part of a not-so-elite club of Facebook Fools. Let his bad choices be a warning to us all.

Why do you think people keep getting busted for things they share on Facebook?

Your wedding day should be one of the most special in your entire life. So when it starts off with your wedding dress being stolen, things are not looking up. That's exactly what happened to a Washington state bride, who was loading up her car to prepare for the big event when she put her bridal gown inside, and then turned to go back into her house. When she came out again, her precious dress was gone. The hysterical bride called 911. And it turned out to be the best call she ever made. If your faith in humanity is wavering, read this story and it will be renewed.

The 911 operator who picked up the bride's call was a woman named Candice (who doesn't reveal her last name). She did what a 911 operator is trained to do -- she took down the woman's information, the details about the theft, and alerted police.

But something was niggling the back of her mind. She asked the bride-to-be when her wedding was scheduled. Says Candice:

When she said "today," my heart broke in two for her.

Yep, the poor woman had the misfortune of getting her bridal dress stolen on the morning of the day of her wedding. But her fortune was about to take an incredible turn.

After hanging up the phone, Candice turned to her supervisor and asked a question that no one had ever heard in the emergency call center before:

Can I offer her my dress? All through the call I was thinking, "I have a dress ... "

Candice and her husband, Brandon, had been married 18 months prior to the call. Her dress was sitting in her parents' attic. She knew there was a greater need for it right now.

After getting the go-ahead from her boss, Candice called the police who were responding to the bride's theft. She told them to ask the bride if she wanted use of her dress. After sending a picture of the dress via cellphone, the bride gratefully accepted. She even thought that Candice's dress would fit her -- quite a coincidence considering that Candice is very tall!

There was just one problem. The dress was in her parents' home and her parents were out of town.

Several calls later, Candice (who couldn't leave work) was able to coordinate getting the key to her parents' house -- which involved both her husband and her brother. All of the stars aligned in a crazy way -- Candice's husband wasn't even supposed to be around that morning, but he'd stayed home from a scheduled trip because he wasn't feeling well. Says Candice:

Brandon drove the dress to the fiance's house and dropped [the dress] off. The woman told me she'd get it back to me, and I said, "No hurry."

The wedding went off without a hitch, and Candice got another message from the bride thanking her for use of the dress.

Now what are the odds that these two would make this kind of connection? It was the fates, I tell you. The wedding gods. The bridal fairies. Obvs the woman and her fiance were meant to get married that day. Says Candice:

God does awesome things, and this woman, whose wedding day might have been ruined, had her special day after all.

Oh, but Candice, I think you had something to do with making her day special, too.

Have you ever had a wedding day scare? Have you ever had a stranger go out of her way for you?

kim and kanyeNow that they are settling into parenthood with baby Nori, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West can focus on another big, paparazzi-worthy event -- their wedding. According to Us Weekly, the pair is already planning the big day. We mean that literally. Kanye apparently doesn't know the meaning of the phrase "low-key."

That means Kim's dreams of an "intimate wedding" are over. "Kanye has never been married before and wants a big wedding," a source said. "So Kim is getting used to the idea again." You would think that would be a tough sale considering. Who could forget her splashy 2011 nuptials to basketball player Kris Humphries. The bill was a whopping $10 million and the marriage lasted a lousy 72 days.

But I doubt there is any convincing Kanye to have a small affair. This guy's ego is notoriously too huge for that. The rapper "wants something really cool and big and over-the-top," says a friend. And it's likely to be a destination wedding, like Paris where he has a home.

However, another source added he is more into the whole marriage idea than she is: "He wants to get married more than she does!" Surprised? Us too. You would think Kim would want to make it all legal with the superstar, but I understand her trepidation. This would be her third walk down the aisle. Well, they do say the third time's the charm. Let's hope that's true for Kim's sake. She will never live down that disastrous two-and-a-half-month wedding to Kris, but having a loving, stable union with Kanye will certainly help.

Do you think Kim and Kanye will actually get married?

kim kardashian selfieKim Kardashian and Kanye West aren't even engaged yet, but they're already talking about the wedding -- supposedly. And what we hear is shocking! Do we overuse that word? Okay, fine. We're just kind of surprised, is all. This time Kim wants a small wedding, just an intimate little affair with around 50 people and no television coverage. NO TEE VEE?!? Kim, you've changed. I don't even know who you ARE anymore.

I guess that huge, splashy to-do with Kris Humphries got Kim thinking a little. Thinking about how she put too much emphasis on the fantasy and not enough on the reality -- I mean the real reality, not reality TV. Just hearing this makes me cringe a little for her. I think it would take a lot of guts to consider getting married again at all, after the backlash she got from her seven-week marriage.

So yeah, you'd better believe Kim wants a small, quiet wedding. If it doesn't work out (and of course we hope it does, but IF), she doesn't want to be accused of getting hitched for the publicity again. And she doesn't want to feel like she's all style and no substance. Yes, even Kim Kardashian has a soul, and even Kim Kardashian can aspire to some integrity. I think we need to give her a chance to prove herself.

But who knows if she'll get that chance. A friend of Kanye's says he wants a big wedding. "He wants to do something really cool and big and over-the-top." Oof, and if we know Kanye, I think that means Kim's got a Groomszilla in her future. Then again, Kanye's "big and over-the-top" is going to be different than Kim's "big and over-the-top." Maybe for him it means holding the wedding in a Mies van der Rohe house, getting his favorite DJs together, and designing Kim's dress himself. At any rate, I can't wait to see how it all turns out. That is ... after Kanye proposes and all that.

Do you think Kim will get away with having a small wedding this time?

Toddler Dies From Leukemia 2 Days After Being Best Man at Parents' Wedding

boutonniereRemember the dying toddler who was going to be the best man at his parents' wedding last weekend? Logan Stevenson was losing his battle with leukemia and was expected to die within weeks, so his parents moved their wedding to this weekend so they could include him in the ceremony. They were just in time -- heartbreakingly, Logan died just yesterday. His mother, Christine Swidorsky Stevenson, announced via Facebook that Logan died in her arms at home. "He is with angels and he is in no more pain," she wrote.

Just a day or two before, Christine had carried her son on her shoulder as she walked down the aisle. He stood by his parents (and was sometimes held by his grandmother) for the 12-minute ceremony, wearing a tan pinstripe suit and orange shirt. Christine and her husband, Sean, knew time was running out for Logan. But I wonder if they knew how soon he would leave.

Logan was having trouble breathing by Monday, and a hospice worker came over to confirm that he was in his last few hours of life. The family gathered around. Logan was at home, surrounded by people who loved him, and comfortable. As awful as it is for a child to die so young, at least his death was peaceful and supporting.

Christine and Sean must be so glad they had the wedding when they did. And it's amazing that Logan held on long enough for the ceremony. It must have taken every ounce of his energy. Those memories will always be bittersweet, but they include Logan, and he will always be with them because of that. You can see photos of Logan Stevenson at his parents' wedding online.

Are you surprised Logan died so soon after his parents' wedding?

Disabled Daughter Left Handcuffed to Bed While Mom Attends a Wedding

Tiffany DavisA mother in Maryland could be facing some serious jail time after her mentally disabled daughter was found wandering around a North Carolina hotel this weekend. Tiffany Davis was at a wedding at the time, and it seems she didn't want her teenager, who has the mental capacity of a 3- or 4-year-old, along. Cops say she'd handcuffed her daughter to the hotel bed!

Kind of makes you wonder why she brought her along for the trip to North Carolina at all, doesn't it? But thank goodness she did.

Imagine, for just a second, if Davis' 19-year-old daughter had been left back home in Maryland.

Not only would a mentally handicapped girl have been left alone -- as she was at the hotel -- but who would have found her?

It's sad when this is the bright side of a story, but the fact is, there is some good here. The girl managed to get loose of her shackles, cops say, and she left the room. She was found, taken good care of, and mom was arrested.

Davis was jailed in Gaston County Jail on a $100,000 secured bond. Cops say they found handcuffs and a dog leash in the hotel room, and they have the witnesses from the hotel who shared enough info to substantiate a neglect charge against the 37-year-old Maryland mother.

A perfect ending?

No. Not even a happy one, necessarily, but this is life, not a fairy tale.

The fact is, if this poor girl hadn't been left in that hotel room, who knows what would have happened to her with a mother like that. This was, in essence, her ticket out of there, her chance to be rescued.

And from the sounds of the charges against her mom, it was about darn time.

What do you make of this horror story?

'Teen Mom' Kailyn Lowry 'Leaks' Her Wedding Registry

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Kailyn Lowry Javi MarroquinIt's full steam ahead on the wedding front for Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin. After the uber private Teen Mom 2 shocked fans by confirming her September wedding date, Kail has another surprise for us. Her wedding registry is up!

The bride-to-be (who is technically already married, albeit in a quickie courthouse wedding) and her Air Force hubby closed on their new house last week. So it's no surprise she packed her registry with everything it takes to make a house a home.

What is shocking?

Well, for starters, Kail's registry is open for the world to see.

Just after tweeting that she was registering, the star who has stayed pretty mum about her second pregnancy shared that she'd done the deed at Bed, Bath & Beyond. One look at the retail giant's site, and it's confirmed: Kail and "Jose Marroquin" (that's Javi's real first name) are indeed registered. And their wedding registry is wide open for everyone to see!

More From The Stir: Jenelle Evans' Drug Charges Could Go Away -- But Should They?

Sooooo, we now know that she wants linen and gray colored towels for her bathroom and mocha kitchen towels. Oh, and for dinnerware, Kail apparently prefers white with a graphite rim.

Sounds pretty tame, huh?

It is. If anything, the Teen Mom's wedding registry is exceedingly normal.

So normal, in fact, that it's almost shocking in how simple it is. There is nothing weird or over-the-top. The most expensive item on there is $450, but that's for a 10-piece set of cookware, not some useless crystal goblet.

Kail tweeted that she worried she'd put too much on the registry, but just one look at it, and she comes off as very down-to-earth and far from greedy (and trust me, I've seen some greedy brides in my day!). Heck, the only thing I don't really get is WHY she shared it.

Does she just want us to see how normal her life is, despite the fame? Or is she hoping that some of her fans want to chip in?

I don't mean that as a smack at Kailyn -- that is kind of the point of registries, isn't it? To get people to buy you stuff?

Or maybe Kail is just an excited bride who can't help sharing her good news because, hellooooo, she's getting married!

I'm thinking it's the latter. But if her fans do decide to chip in for wedding gifts, well, at least we know there are some inexpensive options for furnishing Kail's new home.

What do you think of Kailyn's wedding registry?

Elle Macpherson Marries Billionaire Fiance in Dream Wedding After Tragedy Brought Them Back Together

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
by Kiri Blakeley 2 hours ago

They say the course of true love never did run smooth, so in that case, it must be true love for Elle Macpherson and her new billionaire husband, Jeffrey Soffel. The two were reportedly married in Fiji over the weekend.

Remember that idiotic article that came out decades ago about a woman having as much of a chance of finding a husband after 40 as getting killed by a terrorist! Well, 49-year-old Elle, who looks as gorgeous as she did during her modeling heyday, would say "Pishaw!" to that. Girlfriend bagged herself a billionaire! Not that she needs the cash. MacPherson has not only been one of the richest models for decades, but she has a successful lingerie line. But that's not what makes this romance so interesting. It's that last year, the two weren't even a pair anymore. They had split up in March 2012 and reportedly Elle was devastated. Then fate intervened ...

Elle already had had her share of bad luck with men. She was with wealthy tycoon Arpad Busson for 10 years and had two children with him, but they never married, and soon after their bust-up, he was engaged to Uma Thurman, with whom he had a daughter -- who has one very long name: Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson.

But then Elle began dating Jeffrey, a wealthy hotel magnate. Reportedly, he dumped her and began dating a 25-year-old model, leaving Elle devastated even though rumor has it the pair were "on and off."

Elle went on to concentrate on her career, becoming a host and producer on NBC's Fashion Star.

Have you ever had your heart broken by a guy and kind of hoped something bad -- but not too bad -- would happen to him so maybe he'd realize what he'd lost and come back to you?

Well, that happened to Elle. Only it was pretty bad. Jeff got into a helicopter crash while in the Bahamas. His friend was killed. He was alive, but had severe injuries, including a fractured spine.

This immediately brought the two back in contact. A friend said at the time:

Jeff is very shaken up and mourning the loss of his friend. Elle is landing in Miami imminently to visit him and offer her support at a very tough time.

Reportedly, she went on to nurse him back to health. A few months later, they were engaged. And this time, there would be no long-drawn out engagement for Elle like there was with Arpad.

Elle and Jeff were married secretly in Fiji last month. A friend told People magazine's sister Australian publication:

This is such a joyful time for Elle and Jeff. They are both thrilled.

Wow, what a dramatic courtship, eh? Sometimes it really does take a near-death experience to make you wake up to what is important in life. And it can take almost losing someone you love to forgive and forget.

It looks like Elle and Jeff learned some valuable lessons from that frightening crash. And got their happily ever after.

Have you ever gotten back together with someone after an accident or tragedy?
