Make Brown Eyes Pop With These 5 Easy Makeup Tips (PHOTOS)

Sure sure, they say the eyes are the portal to the soul and all that jazz, but most of us aren't exactly Picasso when it comes to playing up one of a lady's best assets. The truth? Bringing out your eye color is actually easier than you might think. A few Stir staffers recently caught up with Sephora PRO Lead Artist Gilbert Soliz to learn how to accentuate their eye color. And let me tell you -- we learned a wholllleeeee lot. Seriously, who knew that you were supposed to curl your lashes BEFORE you put on mascara, eh?

First up: brown eyes. Are you a fellow brown-eyed beauty looking for a few tips on how to make those eyes pop? Look no further. Check out these 5 brown eye makeup tips, here:

1. Start with a blank canvas: This holds true for women of any eye color. It's super important to keep things neutral to start off with by applying a base. Wipe the same color foundation you use on the rest of your face across your eyelid as well as below your eye, and top it off with a light colored eye shadow for the perfect base.

2. Pick a palette that does the work for you: There are loads of palettes out there that have the right colors for your eyes together so you don't have to do the tough work. Our top picks for brown eyes? Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No. 7 in The Tease ($59, sephora.com) or Sephora Collection Primal Instincts Palette ($28, sephora.com).

3. The right blend makes all the difference: You want to make sure that you're layering your eye shadow the right way. Start by using the darkest shade at the base of the lashes, then buff and blend upwards. Apply a medium toned shade to the lid and ensure that the darker shade is well blended. Take the lightest shade and soften the edges at the crease, then blend up toward the brow bone.

4. Going dramatic? Choose purple. The key to getting brown eyes to pop for a night on the town is opting for cooler shades like a flirty, feminine lavender.

5. Top it off with a great lash: If you're looking for long, beautiful lashes there are two main secrets. 1. Like I mentioned before, curl your lashes BEFORE you apply mascara. This way, you'll avoid that little crease that so many of us pretend not to notice. 2. Start applying your mascara at the root, not the tips. This will make your lashes look thicker.

Want to take your lashes a step further? Accent brown eyes with a little bit of plum-colored mascara. We adore Benefit's BADgal Plum Mascara ($19, sephora.com). While you'll hardly see a difference in color, but it will add an extra pop that'll make your girlfriends say "Wow!"

I'm going to be honest here. In the past, when I've heard the words "theme" and "wedding" together in one sentence, I died a little inside. Something about a themed wedding just seems kind of wrong. But when I saw Teen Mom Kailyn Lowry's positively adorable Under the Sea themed wedding ceremony, I ate my words. Put a little salad dressing on them and ate them right up. And let me tell you: They were bitter going down.

Kailyn shared some super cute snaps of her recent ceremony to Javi Marroquin, and the whole day looks unbelievable (but, let's be honest here, her son, Isaac, in a tux steals the show). The lighting is low; the colors are gorgeous; and, well, for a wedding with a theme, it looks pretty classy.

But here's what I love best about this: Kailyn couldn't look happier. There she is, grinning from ear to ear, pregnant as all get out, arm full of tattoos, not caring what anyone thinks. That's what's most beautiful about this day. She decided to say "screw it" to tradition and did things exactly the way she wanted. I admire that.

But not as much as I admire this photo of Isaac. Good god, does this kid know how to wear a tux. Congrats, Kailyn and Javi!

Photographer's '4th Trimester Project' Shows the Beauty of the Post-Baby Body (PHOTOS)

How did you feel about your body right after giving birth? For most of us, pregnancy and childbirth leave us feeling like our bodies have been "ruined," or at least altered in ways we're not altogether thrilled about. But what if we could change that? What if we could see our post-baby bodies as powerful and beautiful? Pinup and boudoir photographer Ashlee Wells Jackson has made that her mission. Her 4th Trimester Bodies Project is a series of photos showing mothers' bodies in all their post-baby glory, seeing them through a loving, empowering lens.

So how did a pinup photographer end up focusing on post-baby bodies, anyway? We talked with Jackson to find out what her inspiration was and what these photos mean to her subjects.

Jackson began the project soon after becoming a mother herself. She experienced a very traumatic pregnancy and labor that left her struggling with her strange, new body. But she'd been thinking about issues of body image for women even before then. Through her work photographing everyday women looking to transform themselves through pinup photography, Jackson gained an innate sense of how women feel about themselves. No matter what her clients looked like, how traditionally beautiful or otherwise, everyone seemed to have body issues. Everyone felt they had flaws.

After Jackson had her baby and conceived the 4th Trimester Bodies project, she knew that in order to find subjects, she'd have to "pull the trigger, too." So the first photos were self-portraits. She posted her photos on Facebook (she didn't have a website yet), and invited her friends to join the project. She assumed it would be hard to get volunteers, but to her surprise, other women were eager to join the project. "It grew organically from friends, to friends of friends, and so on."

It could also have been her approach. Jackson has no screening process. "We don't ask a lot of questions," she says. All you have to be is a new mom willing to do a session. Once a subject arrives for a shoot, they start off slowly. Jackson has her subjects' hair and makeup done (lightly) even though most of the portraits are taken from the neck down. The hair and makeup session gives her a chance to visit a little with her subjects, and helps them get more comfortable and bring their guard down.

By the time Jackson goes to take the actual photos, her subjects are feeling more comfortable with the shoot, and it takes just a few minutes to take those photos. Then women stay to live-edit the photos with Jackson, giving them more of a say in how they're represented. It becomes a truly collaborative project.

And then the results -- not only are the photos arrestingly beautiful (as you can see), it's a "really empowering and transformative experience for all our subjects," Jackson says.

Dude. What the heck is up with Scott Disick posting photos of $100 bills accompanied by strange, disgusting, and completely egotistical comments?!?

No, you aren't hallucinating. That's a picture of a bunch of $100 bills on a toilet paper roll. Want to hear how Scott captioned it? "I know y'all didn't think I would actually use toilet paper!"

Yes, he said that -- for reals.

As if he actually thinks we're dumb enough to believe that he has replaced Charmin or Angel Soft or whatever with a roll of God knows how many perfectly legitimate Ben Franklins. (At least they don't appear to be counterfeit.)

Oh, and the fun didn't stop there. Nope. Here's another beauty of Scott using his endless supply of cash as a phone.

With this one, he seemed to be making fun of those less fortunate than himself by saying, "Hello, peasant's is that u? #fucku"

Way to keep it classy, Scott.

Um, who the heck does he think he is -- a freakin' king or something? 

Just when I was finally starting to believe that Scott might actually be a pretty cool guy that people tend to misread based on how he's depicted on TV -- he goes and pulls a stunt like this. Now I'm convinced he is, indeed, one of the world's biggest asshats.

Either that, or he's just so damn bored and figures everyone already thinks he's a complete jerk. So he decided it couldn't hurt to go ahead and give people yet another reason to beg Kourtney Kardashian to come to her senses and run for the hills.

But if he was the least bit serious in flaunting his money and poking fun at people who aren't mooching off the Kardashians as well off financially as he is, maybe Kourt should consider kicking him to the curb and making him get a job to support himself for a change. Something tells me if reality were to hit him smack dab in the face, he'd switch to generic toilet paper in a heartbeat.

David Beckham Gets a New Tattoo He May Live to Regret (PHOTOS)

Well, isn't that just great. David Beckham had "Victoria" tattooed across his right hand, officially making him not only one of the best looking husbands on the planet, but also one of the most devoted.

I mean, this dude must really want the world to know that he only has eyes for his wife and has no intention of ever leaving her side; otherwise, he wouldn't want a permanent reminder of the vows he took written all over his hand, right?

(Sigh. I wonder if she has any idea how lucky she is?)

Here's a better look at the tattoo, if you can't make it out from the photo above.

Aww. What an amazing guy. But you gotta admit -- getting a huge name tattoo is kind of a risky move, even if you think your marriage is rock solid. (Come on -- they're a Hollywood/London couple. Anything's possible.)

Some tattoos just really aren't a wise idea no matter how you look at them, and those featuring names are definitely at the top of the list. They're like a jinx or something. (Unless it's the name of your children or someone who has passed on and the tattoo is in honor of them. That's different.)

Back when I was in college, I can remember seriously considering having my sorority letters (Kappa Kappa Gamma) inked on my ankle. And yeah, it would've looked pretty cool -- for about four years. But now that I'm a 36-year-old mom, I'd hate to look down at my leg and see a permanent reminder of my drunken frat-party-goin' days staring back up at me. (Let's face it, I wasn't always this classy.)

And you know what other types of tattoos are as stupid as stupid gets? Sunflowers. Or fish. Or dolphins. Or peace signs. Or anything you think is remotely awesome when you're around the age of 18. I can't tell you how many friends I have who regret their very first tattoos -- because they're of things that really hold no significance at this point in their lives.

Hopefully for Becks, he and Victoria will live happily ever after and grow old together and all that good stuff. But if they don't? Well, I guess he could always try and disguise that tattoo with a huge soccer ball.

When we think of foods we love, we often think of the delicious scents that come with them. Fresh chocolate chip cookies are good, but it's the smell of them warm from the oven that makes them truly delicious. Apple pie is okay, but it's the way the aroma fills your home as it bakes that makes it extra special. 

But there are some foods that are exceptions to the rule. These rare delicacies may be delicious, but olfactory pleasure they do not provide. In fact, some might say they straight up bring both the noise AND the funk. 

We're coming at you with foods that could easily be confused with a teenage boy's gym bag. They may taste good, but they smell like a veritable barf sandwich. Fashion Week is in full swing in NYC right now, and while it's filled with gorgeous designs, a lot of the clothes can feel out of reach to the average woman, for a variety of reasons, the two biggest being the prices and the fact that everything is modeled by 10-foot-tall, size 0 models! One show that's totally different is STRUT, "The Fashionable Mom Show," which launched last fall at Lincoln Center. Co-founded by Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein of THE MOMS, it's the first runway show where the models are all moms.

The show strives to present moms of all shapes and sizes, and focuses on affordable fashion for a diverse audience. It's a pretty cool concept, even though it does strike me as a leeetle bit odd to single out moms ...

I mean, just because I'm a "mom" doesn't mean I need some special kind of fashion, does it? But on the other hand, I love that they are focusing on making fashion relatable and accessible, and I do concede that it's really easy to feel frumpy when you're a mom, by default! In terms of bringing diversity to Fashion Week, I'd say it's a real step in the right direction.

Ok, now let's look at the outfits! Here are my favorite styles (all of which are available now at the retailers listed) ...

Super-Skinny Khloe Kardashian May Be Taking Stress-Relieving Workouts to an Extreme (PHOTOS)

Khloe Kardashian has been pretty gung-ho about hitting the gym hard for a while now, famously getting more svelte over the past year-ish. But in the wake of all the buzz surrounding her troubled marriage to Lamar Odom, it looks like she's taken her intense workouts to a whole new level.

Sis Kendall Jenner posted a photo to Instagram of the pair working out -- Khloe doing her signature fave move, squatting, of course, and Kendall doing other lower body work -- over the weekend. The caption: "Action shot! KhloeMoney workin on that booty#GetItGirl." She later elaborated on another shot: "KhloMoney and Kenya gettin it in in the gym, stunna style.” Awesome! Except it's hard not to notice that Khloe looks thinner than ever.

Could be completely attributed to working out like a maniac, which we can't really say boo to. Especially given all the stress she's likely facing right now. There's pretty much no better or healthier way to cope with any sort of distress than sweating it out. Still, I could imagine what she's going through may have a way of really axing her appetite. And that could be potentially harmful ...

You see it happen to women all the time -- stars especially -- who attribute their weight loss to stress. (Funny, cuz for many of us, the opposite occurs! More cortisol = more belly fat!) Maybe because they're working out like crazy or just forgetting to eat. But either way, being at your wits' end emotionally and/or mentally is not exactly a sustainable or smart fitness strategy, amirite?! 

My heart goes out to Khlo, cuz she really does seem to be going through a lot right now ... Coping by pushing herself at the gym one thing, but let's hope she's eating right and taking care of herself overall. Because there's no glory in a slimmed-down body earned as a result of being completely stressed!

It's news as disappointing as learning there's no such thing as Santa Claus: Google makes mistakes sometimes, you guys. I know. I'll hold while you process this and then subsequently collect yourself.

Although the Internet giant is smarter than god, they've been known to make a gaff -- at us users' expense -- from time to time. Particularly when it's come to their maps.

Here are 5 epic Google Earth mistakes. And don't worry, as far as I know, the Easter Bunny are Tooth Fairy are real.

1. Google Earth may be to blame for a murder. CBS News seems to think that a mislabeled home was the cause behind the 2010 murder of Dennis and Merna Koula in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Steve Burgess, the president of a local bank, had been receiving death threats for some time. Burgess lived next door to the Koulas, and his residence was mislabeled as the Koulas house. CBS insinuated that perhaps Burgess was the intended target, instead of the Koulas, and Google Maps is to blame for their deaths.

2. Google Earth happened to catch an unusually hilly road that looks like it's from an episode of The Jetsons:

Or, you know, it's just a computer glitch.

3. Google Earth erased the image of the White House roof. What's over Obama's head?! Just kidding. The erasure is intentional in order to obscure air-defense and security assets that are in place.

4. Google Earth discovered a bridge that no one should ever, ever drive their car across. Actually, just kidding again! Another glitch. Oh, Google.

5. Google forgot to blur out someone's license plate. As Seroundtable.com put it, "hysteria ensued". And I kind of can see why. With privacy concerns being what they are these days, who would want their license plate on an Internet map for all the world to see.

The pain of labor is something that we have been trying to manage for women since the dawn of time. Whether it was cool rags on the forehead of a laboring woman or a stick to bite down on, helping women ride the contractions and make it through to the other side when they are holding their baby has long been the subject of research.

For many women, pain management really just means getting the epidural as soon as humanly possible. And that's fine. But for others who want to experience all the pain of labor without medication, there are other ways to manage and mitigate it without the use of drugs.

The Stir spoke exclusively with Lacreshia Laningham, a massage therapist and doula, as well as Jenny Skoog, who is a pre- and postnatal fitness trainer, birth coach, childbirth educator, and star of Pushing It. See their ideas for natural labor pain management for women below:

TENS Units override the pain signal to the brain through electrical impulse. The results are immediate, and yes, some women use them in labor. With most, the woman controls the pulse width, pulse rate, and intensity.

Whether it be to supplement with formula, to feed their babies with pumped milk so they don't have to whip out their breasts in public (the paps are everywhere), or simply because they can't or do not wish to breastfeed -- some celeb moms have been spotted out and about with baby bottles used to nourish their little ones.

See, not everyone can commit to exclusive breastfeeding -- not even high-profile moms, which should make you breathe a sigh of relief if you're also a bottle-feeding mama.

Ugh. Smoking. It's the worst. And I feel like sort of a hypocrite saying that since I puffed on a cigarette or two back in my college days, but now? I absolutely CAN'T stand it.

Cigarettes reek to high heaven. And they're dirty. And whenever I see a celebrity with a cancer stick in their hand, their level of attractiveness drops down a few levels and I wonder why in the heck they've adopted such a disgusting habit.

The identities of some A-list smokers will probably shock the hell out of you. I know I was surprised to see moms and other well known stars getting their nicotine fix.

Note -- not all of the pics are from this year, so there's a chance some of these ladies have quit smoking since they were taken. (Let's hope so.)

Cuando llegas a la edad adulta, hay ciertas cosas que simplemente no puedes hacer más. Lamentablemente, consigue implicado en épica, pegajoso alimentos lucha aterriza en la parte superior de la lista, justo al lado de no lavarse las manos. ¿Qué es un adulto que cuando surge el deseo de lanzar alguna fruta suave, inofensivo a alguien? Bueno, esperemos que canalizar su energía en haciendo algo más positivo con menos limpieza.

Por otra parte, si no que lleva, siempre podría empacar un bolso y una cabeza a España. No te preocupes, no te estamos desterrando del país por malos modales. Pero si es una pelea de comida que anhelas, debes ir a la pequeña ciudad de Buñol para lo que ellos llaman "La Tomatina". Este normalmente tranquilo pueblo cerca de Valencia entra en erupción anualmente para esto, la lucha del alimento más grande del mundo.

La gente viaja de todo el mundo a participar en este festival de pay-to-play. No sugerimos vestido de blanco, ya que durante todo el evento, más de 130 toneladas de tomates se tiró, tiró y aplastados. En el lado positivo, su maleta será mucho más ligera cuando llevas a casa!

Este evento es divertido por el Dios de la diversión. Su orígenes se remontan a mediados de 1940, cuando un grupo de jóvenes--peeved no debe incluirse en un desfile organizado por los adultos--consiguió su venganza por mísera el desfile con fruta podrida. Ahora la procedencia exclusiva de los adultos, es la perfecta excusa anual para llevar a cabo el niño desordenado que vive dentro de todos nosotros!

The best thing about any iteration of The Real Housewives franchise is the drama that's constantly erupting between the ladies themselves. The second best thing is learning that if you have the dollars and look hard enough, you can find a seemingly never-ending array of body-con dresses to suit any and all occasions should you feel so moved.

The third best thing? It's a toss-up between the hair and the exploits of Lisa Vanderpump's original doggy-OG, Giggy.* I kid, I kid -- it's the romantic roller coaster rides of the shows' couples. They have been there and back again -- and we've been more than happy to go along with them!

We've seen good dates and bad dates and marriages we never thought would last and marriages that should have never started. Then again, we've been lucky enough to see true love as it blooms between couples who are sure to grow old together. Join us as we trot out five of our favorite Real Housewives couples. We'll dish on who we think will last, who is headed for disaster, and who is already there.

*Seriously though, I would be totally willing to watch just Giggy for a solid hour. Or 10.

Confession. Whenever I'm feeling really down, I will pull up a military homecoming video. Daddies and little girls, mommies and sons ... these awesome welcomes for the people who are out there serving our country never fail to make me smile.

Can anything top the look a little girl gets on her face when she hasn't seen her daddy in months? Or a little boy gets when he sees Mom after a year?

The reunion of a child and a parent carries with it so much emotion and so much hope.

I know I miss my daughter when I send her to school for a day or when I go on a business trip for a few. Now multiply that by weeks and months for servicemen and women and the families they leave behind.

That's true sacrifice. 

But as they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder -- and the love that you can see on the faces of these returning heroes is only topped by the pure joy on the faces of their kids.
