Will Ferrell Drags His Kids to the Emmys Because He Can’t Find a Sitter (VIDEO)

will ferrell emmy awardsPoor Will Ferrell. Called into work at the last minute, couldn't find a sitter, and ended up having to bring his kids with him. All three of the Ferrell boys! We've all been there, right? Oh -- except in this case, "work" was presenting at the Emmy Awards. Did you catch it? Will Ferrell dragged his three boys onstage, all of them (including Will) in sloppy t-shirts and shorts. "I couldn't find child care, okay?" Farrell said defensively.

For parents it was probably the most painfully funny moment of the Emmys -- though obviously it was just an act. I mean, who hasn't scrambled at the last minute for childcare, given up, and ended up dragging their kids with them to work? It happens!

In fact, there was a handful of kids here at the CafeMom office one day just before school started. There's this awful gap of time where most of the day camps are over, but classes haven't begun yet. And if you're not already hooked up with a daycare center or a babysitter, you're just kind of screwed. You're either working from home in the Kid Zone (and feeling oh-so-productive) or you've got a kid or two hanging out in the lobby, playing Angry Birds.

Will Ferrell doesn't have that option, though -- he can't exactly let his kids play Angry Birds while they're still on stage. They have to wait. I loved his whole spiel on what their day was like. "We had a soccer game, there was a neighbor's birthday party, a nut allergy. I didn't have time to do my hair! It doesn't matter, it's great to be here." Sounds like a typical Sunday to me. Especially the part about not having time to do his hair.

Don't you love how there's no mention of his wife? Apparently whatever she's doing, it's more important than presenting at the Emmys. I think that was my favorite part.

No, this was my favorite part: "You have to go to the bathroom?! I asked you backstage if you had to go to the bathroom. So you're just going to have to hold it. This is the Emmys. Don't blow this for me!" Of course someone has to go to the bathroom. With three kids, isn't it a given that at least one of them has to pee at any moment?

Oh Will! Bwahaha, ouch. Thank you for illustrating the bind we all face: You're either a crappy parent or a crappy employee, sometimes both at the same time. At least, it feel like that sometimes. Glad we could all have a healing laugh over it.

Have you ever had to bring your kids with you to work at the last minute?

Sorority Caught Rejecting Black Pledges Solely Because of Race -- What Is This, 1950?

First a confession: everything I know about sororities I learned from movies like Legally Blonde and friends' glowing accounts of them. I went to a liberal university in the Northeast where sororities and fraternities weren't a big thing, so I was shocked to learn that in 2013, any school was still able to get away with keeping African Americans segregated from its sorority system.

According to several accounts, the University of Alabama is being slammed for doing just that. The school's newspaper, the Crimson White, published a story last week exposing the details of a extremely intelligent and qualified African-American female student who pledged several sororities in the school and was denied entry. But before you criticize the young sorority girls -- who reportedly gave the woman excellent scores during the recruitment process -- for discrimination, they aren't to blame. All of the shame for this goes to the alumnae, who tried to block the girl's entry.

The sorority members claim the woman, along with others, were not accepted solely because of their race. They even reported that alumnae threatened to pull funding from the sororities if they accepted African American members. Since financial support from alumnae is the bread and butter of sororities and fraternities, I applaud these young women for coming forward and exposing the segregated system in which they (hopefully unconsciously) took part.

So after what must have been an emergency meeting this weekend between the university president and sorority-chapter advisors, it was decided the school would join the 21st century and begin allowing African Americans into its Greek organizations.

I can't help wondering what I would do if I were the highly qualified woman who had pledged and been denied entry into these sororities based on the color of my skin. My first impulse is to say I would tell them to shove off. But wouldn't it deliver an even more powerful punch -- one directed straight at the alumnae -- if she held her head high and accepted entrance into one of the groups?

From what I hear -- and please correct me if I'm wrong -- being a part of a sorority is more than just living in big house, throwing keg parties, and getting invites to the best parties. You are forever associated with a group of women with whom you can network when looking for professional opportunities. You take part in community events and are able to assume roles of leadership within your sorority that can prove priceless on a young person's resume.

What do you think? Should African Americans accept entry into these formerly segregated sororities?

Scott Disick Replaces Toilet Paper With $100 Bills Because Apparently He Just Can't Help Himself (PHOTOS)

cash toilet paper rollDude. What the heck is up with Scott Disick posting photos of $100 bills accompanied by strange, disgusting, and completely egotistical comments?!?

No, you aren't hallucinating. That's a picture of a bunch of $100 bills on a toilet paper roll. Want to hear how Scott captioned it? "I know y'all didn't think I would actually use toilet paper!"

Yes, he said that -- for reals.

As if he actually thinks we're dumb enough to believe that he has replaced Charmin or Angel Soft or whatever with a roll of God knows how many perfectly legitimate Ben Franklins. (At least they don't appear to be counterfeit.)

Oh, and the fun didn't stop there. Nope. Here's another beauty of Scott using his endless supply of cash as a phone.

Scott Disick money

With this one, he seemed to be making fun of those less fortunate than himself by saying, "Hello, peasant's is that u? #fucku"

Way to keep it classy, Scott.

Um, who the heck does he think he is -- a freakin' king or something?

Just when I was finally starting to believe that Scott might actually be a pretty cool guy that people tend to misread based on how he's depicted on TV -- he goes and pulls a stunt like this. Now I'm convinced he is, indeed, one of the world's biggest asshats.

Either that, or he's just so damn bored and figures everyone already thinks he's a complete jerk. So he decided it couldn't hurt to go ahead and give people yet another reason to beg Kourtney Kardashian to come to her senses and run for the hills.

But if he was the least bit serious in flaunting his money and poking fun at people who aren't mooching off the Kardashians as well off financially as he is, maybe Kourt should consider kicking him to the curb and making him get a job to support himself for a change. Something tells me if reality were to hit him smack dab in the face, he'd switch to generic toilet paper in a heartbeat.

Do you think Scott was joking around or rubbing his wealth in people's faces?

Little Boy Stays Up All Night Singing Because He's 'Not Sleepy, Not Sleepy, Not Sleepy' (VIDEO)

not sleepy boyDon't it always seem to go ... you don't know what you got 'til it's gone? That's definitely the case when it comes to little kids and sleep. They get to nod off pretty much whenever they want to ... but they never want to!! Youth is so, so wasted on the young! There's nothing more frustrating for us moms than trying to convince a child to go to bed when sweet lord above, the only thing you want in life is to be able to go to bed!!!

Anyway. Point is, kids hate going to bed. Much like the little boy in this video. Of course, John Thomas has good reason for not wanting to call it a night, and do you know what that is? He is not sleepy. NOT SLEEPY AT ALL. You got that? Not. Sleepy. At. ALL!

Which is exactly what his parents found out when they did a little late-night video investigation, as you'll see here:

Whoa! Looks like John wasn't figuring on an audience. (But what does he expect, belting out a catchy tune like that?) Still, he bounced back from the initial surprise pretty quickly. Probably because, you know, HE'S NOT SLEEPY.

John Thomas is now 17, but he has a big sister, Lauren, who still gets a kick out of that video. So she posted it on Reddit and BOOM! Thing took off like a shot! Which comes as no surprise -- after all, there are precious few folks out there who can't relate to bedtime battles. Plus, this one is epically cute.

Have you ever found your kid staying up late when you thought he was asleep?

Crazy One Direction Fan Allegedly Kills Dog Because They Ignored Her

Penulis : Unknown on vrijdag 13 september 2013 | 14:16

vrijdag 13 september 2013

Warning: the story I'm about to share with you is highly unpleasant. On August 29, a fan using the Twitter handle @illumivato tweeted the British boy band One Direction with the threat, "FOLLOW ME OR I'LL BREAK MY DOG'S NECK." She included a photo of a tiny dog being held down on the floor, someone's hand on its neck. When she wasn't followed, another tweet was eventually sent to singer Liam Payne with the message that the dog was now dead, along with a disturbing photo of a crying girl holding the unmoving dog.

There are plenty of folks who believe this Twitter account -- which is now suspended -- was a hoax, and hopefully that's true. But there's something about the creepy second photo that makes me believe someone really did kill that dog.

Worse, this isn't the first threatening image the fan has posted.

I kind of hate to even speculate about this whole thing, because it's either completely gruesome or a deranged joke, but if you can stand it, take a close look at this photo @illumivato posted:

Maybe the dog is just ... lying there? But to me its little face looks totally lifeless.

I hope I'm just reading too much into a prank and the dog is perfectly fine. The thing that makes me lean towards believing this is a sick hoax account is that there have been other disturbing images posted from the allegedly obsessed One Direction fan, including cats and dogs stuffed into blenders, a gun held to a little dog, and a young boy bound with duct tape. Each photo included a demand that someone from One Direction follow her account.

There's currently a nearly 4,000-signature-strong Change.org petition asking for the @illumivato account to be investigated by Twitter, PETA, the police, and other organizations. So far, the accountholder's name and location have not been revealed.

The messed up part of this story is that even if there isn't REALLY a crazy fan who's willing to break the neck of her beloved pet to get a boy band's attention, there's at least a crazy person who's willing to pretend to be that psychotic. One situation is better than the other, I suppose, but either way it's pretty upsetting.

Do you think this Twitter account was a hoax?

Hospital Denies Mom Food Because She Isn't Breastfeeding

baby bottleIf you thought you've seen it all in the never-ending battle of breastfeeding versus formula feeding, I'd like to present to you the mother who was denied free hospital food because she wasn't nursing. A mother of three accompanied her 5-month-old baby to the pediatric ward, where he was admitted for a lung infection, and when the staff was made aware that she wasn't breastfeeding, they informed her that she could have some toast in the morning, but beyond that, she'd have to pay for any food she wanted -- which isn't the case for mothers who nurse. "Because you're not breastfeeding, you won't get meals here," the mom who wishes to remain nameless said she was told. And the thing that bothered her the most, more than the ridiculous policy, was the fact that she had to leave her recovering infant son alone to go get herself some food.

"For me to go and get some decent food, I have to leave my child," she said. "I understand they are busy but that's why I think there's more reason to feed us so we don't have to leave our children." She recalled a particularly upsetting instance when she left her child and she returned to find him screaming. "It's not so easy on a mom who cares about her children to go and get herself some nutrition when you come back to an anxious, upset baby," she said.

And adding insult to injury is the fact that this particular mom wanted to nurse. Quite badly, actually, but it just didn't work out, due to severe food allergies and reflux. Bottle-feeding with prescription formula was the option that made the most sense for her family.

If this is this particular hospital's attempt at increasing breastfeeding, boy have they missed the mark. Denying the mother of a sick child food because she's using formula is almost too insane to even wrap my head around. This woman is being punished because breastfeeding didn't work out for her -- by a hospital. Aren't hospitals supposed to be places mothers feel comfortable and not "less than"? Mothers who formula feed their kids -- because something went wrong, or because they simply didn't feel like nursing -- get enough crap for other women already. (And, yes, I breastfed in case you're wondering.)

This needs to stop. Yes, there have been countless studies, touting the benefits of breastfeeding, but not everyone is going to do it. Let's all just deal with that fact and move on. A hospital forcing a mother to leave her sick child because she bottle-feeds is not the way to get more moms to nurse. In fact, it only fuels the fire of this never-ending battle.

What do you think of this?

Despicable Man Throws 3 Puppies Over a Fence Because They Were 'Annoying' (VIDEO)

PuppyThe things people do when they think they won't get caught absolutely astound me. Whether or not you're a dog person, you'll surely cringe at the actions of an Italian runner caught on surveillance camera from this past Sunday night. After a few dogs "annoyed him" during his run, he had the audacity to throw the puppies over a fence. Well actually, throw is an understatement. He chucked them. He even threw one into a parked trailer.

Words ... they escape me. The pure fact that someone could have it inside of them to be SO cruel to an innocent dog, it's mortifying.

Here, watch the horrifying footage for yourself. Skip ahead to around 3:15 to see the dogs go flying:

As if it's not hard enough to watch the first dog land and sit there almost motionless, it kills me to see the other puppy hit the parked trailer. The man clearly has no heart. Many of us have been on a run or walking down the street, frightened when a dog comes running. But regardless, I would never pick up a defenseless puppy and do something this wretched to it. Never. These dogs were not attacking him. They were simply wandering in his general vicinity.

According to Huffington Post, the puppies suffered some injuries but all survived. Police have identified the puppy-thrower, and the dogs are currently being cared for by the owner of the property where he threw them.

Are you in disbelief about this man's actions?

3 Teens Arrested in Shooting of Star Baseball Player Because They Were ‘Bored’ (VIDEO)

Christopher LaneSome heartbreaking news out of Duncan, Oklahoma today. Three teens were reportedy so "bored" that they decided to randomly murder another human being. James Edwards, 15, Chancey Luna, 16, and Michael Jones, 17, are currently in police custody on charges of killing star baseball player Christopher Lane, 22. He was tragically gunned down while jogging through Duncan on Friday afternoon.

Duncan police chief Danny Ford explained what happened in this nightmare-turned-reality: "They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: 'There's our target' .... The boy who has talked to us said: 'We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.'"

"They followed him in the car to that area, shot him in the back, and drove off," Ford said.

It truly doesn't get much more cold, callous, and disturbing than this.

Of course, reading a story like this one inevitably brings up this eternal debate: Gun control is such a hot topic nowadays, but I think we can all come to the same conclusion. There really is no easy answer ... or we would have figured it out by now. Would stricter laws have kept the gun out of the hands of these teenagers? Would they have found a way regardless? How do we keep guns out of the hands of violent people? Impossible questions to answer, but ones we must figure out to try to keep these senseless acts of gun violence to a minimum. No one can argue that it has gotten way out of control.

Former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer, who led Australia's gun control reforms with the prime minister back in 1996 (Christopher was from Melbourne attending a college in Oklahoma on a baseball scholarship), thinks he has one solution. Tim is encouraging tourists not to visit the US to put pressure on the government. "Tourists thinking of going to the USA should think twice," he said. "This is the bitter harvest and legacy of the policies of the NRA that even blocked background checks for people buying guns at gunshows."

Not sure if tourists refusing to visit the US will have much of an impact on gun legislation -- at least it's increasing awareness that something has to be done? -- but there's another issue I hate bringing up with these arrests, yet everyone is going to be talking about it anyway: race. The three attackers were black, while Christopher Lane was white. The expected inflammatory remarks regarding the race of those who were involved already are imploding comments sections, as race relations and crime is another extremely important issue that, again, will not be easily resolved -- especially in the context of this blog post. I'd prefer to get to the heart of this entire thing.

Three teenagers were so bored that their immediate thought was to kill the next person who passed by them on the street. Imagine if someone you loved was innocently jogging on a Friday afternoon and then, the next you hear, they are dead, all because the perpetrators had nothing better to do.

How far have we fallen as a society for something like this to happen? Who failed these kids so that when they were bored, the first thing they thought of doing was to (allegedly) take someone else's life? If they did what they were arrested for, stories like these bring yet another sobering light to the evil some humans are capable of possessing.

Today should have been the first day of Chris's new semester at college, but instead his family is planning on bringing his body back home to Australia. Such a promising life cut way too short.

Here is more on this sad, sad story:

Do you think anything could have been done to prevent this random act of violence?

Kids' Movie Starring Alex Rodriguez Causing Controversy Because of Steroid Scandal

Penulis : Unknown on donderdag 15 augustus 2013 | 16:03

donderdag 15 augustus 2013

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Alex RodriguezAlex Rodriguez fans who were looking forward to taking their kids to see the embattled New York Yankees third baseman in a new kids' movie may never have the chance. The folks behind Henry & Me, a movie about a little boy with cancer and his magical adventure with baseball players, are debating the effect his steroids scandal could have on a flick for kids. There's talk Alex will get the axe.

As a long-time Yankees fan who has never particularly taken to A-Rod, I'm not exactly crying. But as a mother of a little baseball fan, I wonder if they aren't overreacting a tad bit.

A-Rod, of course, is currently in the midst of an appeal of Major League Baseball's 211-game suspension for alleged steroid use. He's damaged goods, and sponsors don't want to be associated with him.

But we're not talking about advertising here. We're talking about a kids' movie. The movie's executive producer, Ray Negron, has said of the threat to cut Alex from the film, "I love Alex Rodriguez, but I love kids more."

The question is, do kids even care?

I don't know that they do.

Sure, they know who Alex Rodriguez is. My daughter used to have an A-Rod jersey, and she could point him out in a lineup. Because we live in New York, most kids I know could probably do the same.

But they know about Alex Rodriguez the New York Yankee. They don't know about Alex Rodriguez the person, Alex Rodriguez, the guy who may or may not have used illegal substances.

That's the way it is with most sports stars. They know how they play. They admire how they play.

But there's a distinguishable difference between idolizing a baseball player and idolizing a person.

In general, kids know very little about players' personal lives, and they don't want to follow in their footsteps as human beings. Little New York Jets fans don't see Antonio Cromartie and think, "I want to have 12 kids, just like that guy." They see him and say, "I want to play cornerback."

Kids don't look at Michael Vick and say, "I want to go fight dogs and go to jail." They see him and say, "I want to lead the Hokies to a national championship. I want to play quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons."

So it is with Alex Rodriguez. There's been a lot of debate in recent weeks over what parents should tell their kids about A-Rod, whether they should take away their jerseys and rip down their posters, lest they follow in their "hero's" footsteps. But for kids, the steroid scandal hasn't changed things; it won't set them on a path to steroid use any more than wearing a Cromartie jersey will make them more fecund.

Quite frankly, parents credit professional athletes, heck, all celebrities with way too much power over their kids' lives. Yes, celebrities screw up, and sometimes our kids find out, and we need to talk about it. But day-to-day, kids are much more focused on the flaws and foibles of the grownups around them. We are their real role models, the people in whose footsteps they will really follow -- wrongly or rightly.

Cutting a guy like Alex Rodriguez out of a kids' movie might be good for the production company in terms of getting it out there, but let's be real -- this isn't about the kids themselves.

They could care less.

Would you let your kids watch this movie if Alex Rodriguez had a role? Do you worry about your kids idolizing athletes?

Sam Horowitz's Bar Mitzvah Dance Goes Viral Because It's That Insanely Awesome (VIDEO)

Sam HorowitzHave no clue who Sam Horowitz is? I didn't either. I kept seeing people posting his bar mitzvah dance on Twitter and Facebook, and I kept ignoring them. I mean, really, how awesome can a bar mitzvah dance be? Turns out -- pretty damn awesome.

It's insane. It makes you want to dance. It's over-the-top, and all sorts of crazy to think this is happening at a religious celebration. There are burlesque-style show girls and a glittery object that descends from the sky, appearing to carry Sam, a 13-year-old from Dallas, down to the stage. And ultimately, there's Sam, bogeying to Jennifer Lopez's "Dance Again" like he's been doing a Vegas act for years. You have to see it to believe it.

Wow, right? It all went down last November, and it's hard to believe it took this long to hit the internet. But hit it, it has. People are mad for Sam ... or mad at his parents for letting this happen -- opinions are split.

As I watched the first minute or so, I was all sorts of indignant about parents going overboard on these sorts of celebrations. Did you see his name in those huge neon lights? These elaborate events for religious ceremonies, Sweet 16 parties, Quinceaneras, and the like, are so outlandish that it's going to be tough for these children's weddings to compete. It's overindulgent, excessive, and we may be creating little narcissists ... but then I saw Sam, and all my indignation went right out the window.

How can you not love this kid shaking his hips with abandon, like he's the happiest kid in the world. If you had the means to give your kid an opportunity to shine like that, wouldn't you? Mazel, Sam.

What do you think of this dance?

giudice beach dayOh, well look who's been enjoying some fun in the sun despite 39 counts of fraud that could send them behind bars for 50 years? Our favorite Real Housewives of New Jersey lady-in-bankruptcy Teresa Giudice posted photos of beachy fun this weekend, like she and Joe haven't a care in the world. Look at this frolicsome pair! Dashing about in the surf, smiling/scowling/squinting as only they can. You'd never think they were on the hook for alleged conspiracy to defraud investors, illegally obtaining mortgages, hiding assets -- should I go on, or is that enough?

You may say, OH WHAT, are they supposed to just stay at home (er, well, at one of their homes) with the drapes drawn, wearing sackcloth and eating little torn-up pieces of cardboard for dinner? Is that what they're supposed to do?!?

YES. Yes! That is exactly what they should be doing right now. All of it. The drapes, the sackcloth, the little pieces of cardboard for dinner. That should be what's going on at Chez Giudice right now.

Oh all right. No, that's not what I'm saying.

I just think ... maybe if you're facing these charges, a little discretion is in order. Go ahead and enjoy a day at the beach (because who knows how many more of those you'll get after you-know-what). Just don't gleefully post the photos on the Internet. It kind of makes you look a wee bit overconfident about proving your innocence.

But silly me. Look who I'm talking about -- Teresa and Joe, discretion? Those names and that word shouldn't even be in the same paragraph together. Publishing this post might actually break the Internet, that's so ridiculous. The last thing Teresa and Joe are going to be is discreet. They may be going to hell in a hand basket, but they will go partying all the way.

So you know what? Forget everything else I just said. The Giudices should post all the beach photos they want. Go 'head and be their bad selves. Add some fruity, slushy tropical drinks while they're at it. If anything, I think the government is more likely to believe they have something to hide if they suddenly started behaving themselves.

Do you think Teresa should be posting beach photos at a time like this?

'Walking Dead' Season 4: Show Creator Says He Might Kill Daryl Because We Love Him So Much

Daryl DixonHey who's the hottest character on The Walking Dead LOL J/K LIKE THIS IS EVEN UP FOR DEBATE. Haaaa, that was funny how I pretended for a second that there was any possible acceptable answer other than Daryl Dixon.

Daryl, who's played on the show by Norman Reedus, has obviously become an overwhelming fan favorite (despite the fact that he wasn't in the original comics, and he was never meant to be a long-term character!). His popularity has spawned a thousand "IF DARYL DIES WE RIOT" t-shirts, and his fan base is … well, let's just call them devoted. (OMG, you should see the comments on his Instagram photos.) (Yes I follow him on Instagram, shut up.)

We obviously don't yet know what all is going to happen to Daryl in season 4, but here are some important things to keep in mind -- including the possibily of Daryl's DEATH.

(Warning: upcoming spoiler for season 3!)

Just how is it that Daryl seems to have a constant supply of arrows for his bow?

It's true that Daryl's never-ending arrows seem a little similar to Hershel's hilarious infinite ammo mode from the season 2 finale, right?

But it turns out there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. In addition to the fact that Daryl typically pulls his arrows back out of the skulls he plants them in, Reedus tells Entertainment Weekly,

They go on runs and we raid places and this is Georgia so that is one of the weapons that people hunt with. So it’s not unheard of to find more arrows. (…) When you show this large of a time frame, there’s a lot of things that are sort of understood. You never see us go to the bathroom, but we do that.

How will Merle's death affect Daryl as a person, as the show goes on?

I think that Daryl was always destined to be a mini Merle. I try to play him like he was embarrassed of who he was becoming … he didn't want to say racist things, he didn't want to do drugs … as a kid he was sort of embarrassed that that was the life he was born into. So once Merle is out of the picture, Daryl has the opportunity to become the man he was never going to be. You know, someone he could be proud of … I think he's slowly starting to find value in himself through other people. And I think he wouldn't have had that opportunity before if Merle was still in the picture.

Is it theoretically possible that Daryl will die in season 4?

Yes, and if he DOES die, it's because we all LOVED HIM TOO DAMN MUCH. According to creator Robert Kirkman,

I feel like it's a dare. Like, 'Oh, really? You're going to riot? We'll see. No one is safe.'

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I mean, that's fine, Kirkman. We totally don't care. Whatever. Kill Daryl if you (*breaks down and sobs*)

Do you think Daryl's going to get more screen time in season 4? Or do you think Kirkman may really follow through on his cruel threat?

Is Blake Lively in Hiding Because She's Pregnant?

blake lively, ryan reynoldsAs soon as a couple ties the knot, one question usually follows: when are you going to have kids. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were certainly no exception. In fact, after their wedding in September 2012, people speculated a pregnancy was the reason for the super-secret nuptials. However now, Blake may actually have a baby on the way.

According to Perez Hilton, the one-time Green Lantern costars are expecting their first child. According to a witness at the Turbo premiere, "She was rocking a little paunch -- maybe the tiniest of baby bumps." Then a friend revealed that they are just waiting to make it through the first trimester before making the official announcement.

Need more proof? She's usually a size 2 and loves to show off her fit bod, but lately she's opted for flowing clothes and sweaters. Plus, adds the pal, she has given up red wine and champagne for water. All telltale signs.

It actually isn't such a far fetched idea. For months, they have been holed up in their Bedford, New York home. They have only been spotted out and about sporadically. At first it seemed odd that the high profile couple would prefer the sleepy suburb to the excitement of Hollywood or a cosmopolitan city like New York. But if they were planning to start a family, it makes perfect sense. I bet there is some serious nesting going on.

If true, this is destined to be the most genetically blessed child in Hollywood history (story Shiloh Jolie-Pitt).

Do you think about Blake possibly being pregnant?

College Student Told She Wasn’t Raped Because He Didn’t 'Finish'

facepalmCan someone please help out the University of Southern California police? They seem a bit confused about how this how rape/sexual assault business works. In fact, it's gotten so bad that there's a federal investigation of the campus police and school officials into their alleged failure to prosecute rape. 13 people have filed complaints, including one woman who says she was told she wasn't raped because her assailant didn't orgasm.

"Because he stopped, it was not rape," the victim was told when she reported the rape, according to a complaint she filed. "Even though his penis penetrated your vagina, because he stopped, it was not a crime."

Okay ladies? It's not rape if he stops. So someone can force himself on you, but if at some point he says, "Oh, my mistake! Excuse me while I remove myself here" and he hasn't ejaculated yet, it's not really rape. It's something we call "schmape." Schmape is more common than you think. I wonder what else the USC campus police classify as schmape, and not, you know, rape rape.

I'm kidding about the schmape. It's just... Where do they get these guys? Shouldn't you have to know what rape is in order to get hired with campus police? Would an IQ test be out of order?

Another woman complained that her ex-boyfriend raped her. She even had a recording of him bragging about it. But she says the campus police gave her the old "not my job" line, telling her their "goal was to offer an 'educative' process, not to 'punish' the assailant." First of all, ye gods, they don't even know what their job is (enforce the law???). Secondly, are these people really in a position to educate anyone about anything, let alone about sexual assault?

Then there was the student who reported a sexual assault at a frat house party. According to her complaint, campus police told her and a friend that women should not "go out, get drunk, and expect not to get raped." Well now we know; campus police are there to enforce the law, unless of course you go and get drunk and then you're on your own. Only men can get drunk. If you have a vagina, stay home and stay sober. Alcohol is just for the guys.

So the feds do an investigation and come to the shocking conclusion that the USC campus police are a bunch of stone-age knuckleheads. Now what? There are similar investigations happening at college campuses all over the country. Francesca Bessey, who is part of a group lawsuit, says she hopes it changes how college administrators and campus police respond to complaints about sexual assault. "For me, the technical outcome of the investigation is much less important than the consciousness I want it to inspire among decision makers at colleges and universities nationwide."

In other words, she wants to put these guys on notice. They're doing it wrong, and they need to get educated.

Are you surprised at the USC police's responses to these complaints about sexual assault?

Demi Lovato Chides Miley Cyrus About Partying, Because THAT Always Helps

AppId is over the quota

Miley Cyrus Demi LovatoIf you've been feeling a little worried about Miley Cyrus and her hard-partying ways, you have a kindred soul in Demi Lovato. Lovato, who met Cyrus on the set of Hannah Montana six years ago, isn't too sure about her friend's laissez-faire approach to twerking her way through life while gleefully admitting she's often too baked to know what she's talking about.

The things is, I'm not too sure Lovato's decision to share her motherly concern about Miley Cyrus via MTV News was the best way to show her support. Nor am I confident Miley's exactly open to criticism from someone who's basically become the poster child for stone cold sobriety.

I have all sorts of admiration for Demi Lovato's ongoing honesty about the crap she's gone through in recent years. She's battled an eating disorder, self-injury, suicidal feelings (which started when she was just 7 years old), bipolar disorder, self-medicating with drugs and alcohol, and judging by the lyrics in her song "Warrior," sexual abuse.

It's not surprising that she's no longer on the same wavelength as wild child Miley, which Lovato confessed to MTV News:

She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing. I love her to death and I'm always like, 'Just be careful' and she's like, 'Dude, I'm chilling. It's fine.' But I care for her so much that I'm so protective, but she's good. She's got a good head on her shoulders.

I believe that Lovato cares for her friend, but it seems like kind of a weird move to publicly share that you disapprove of someone's partying. Plus, her follow-up comments about Miley's party anthem "We Can't Stop" sound downright passive-aggressive:

I think it's a good song... It's a song a lot of people have fun to and if people are enjoying it, then great.

Translation: Look, if people like an inappropriate song that references "dancing with Molly," it's their funeral. Have fun getting addicted to ecstasy, everyone.

Okay, that might not be entirely fair, but I imagine that it's just kind of hard for Lovato to be asked about her pop-star peers when she feels like she's in such a different place. As she said of her friends Cyrus and Selena Gomez turning 21,

They can turn 21 and have their turn-21st-birthday. I don't think that I – I just don't put myself in those situations where I'm going to be at those 21st birthdays. I don't go to clubs. I just know it's something I can't do without being triggered. And that's okay.

Sobriety is hard enough when you're years past the partying stage, being just twenty and living the celebrity lifestyle must put Lovato in a state of constant vigilance. It's got to be hard as hell, and sometimes a certain sense of evangelicalism is the only way to get past all those temptations.

But for the people who are enjoying their less-than-perfectly-responsible years, I'm sure it's equally hard to hear the criticism. More power to Lovato for wanting to protect her buddy and all, but it seems like she'd do better to keep her concerns a little more private.

What do you think about Demi Lovato calling Miley Cyrus out for partying? Do you think it crossed a friendship line?

Dad Sues Store Because Boots Made His 4-Year-Old Daughter Trip

girl bootsHave you ever met a parent who is always looking to blame someone when anything happens to their child? Well, I haven't met Shahan Stephanian, but my guess is he may be one of those.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the man from Pasadena, Calif., recently filed a lawsuit against Nordstrom. He says an employee at the store who was fitting his 4-year-old daughter for boots, put her in some that too big for her. Apparently she measured at about a size 11-12, but the employee had her try a 13 so there would be room to grow (something I actually appreciate as a parent). When the employee told her to walk toward a shelf to see how they felt, she tripped and hit her head.

Ouch. Apparently, it was a pretty hard fall as the lawsuit claims she suffered "serious injuries to her person. Said injuries include a laceration to her left eyebrow and eyelid area, which has left a permanent and very noticeable scar.”

I feel bad for her. I bet Nordstrom felt bad for her. But to sue over this incident is ridiculous, especially now since this happened in 2006! Nordstrom issued a statement saying they have let Stephanian know several times that they "welcome the opportunity to resolve his issues directly." But apparently he's not interested in something that civil.

The lawsuit says the girl was "too young to appreciate the danger of walking in boots that were too large or did not fit properly.” It claims the sales person "had a duty to use reasonable care to present the plaintiff with boots that were safe and of an appropriate size so that plaintiff would not have difficulty walking in said boots and/or would not stumble or fall while walking in said boots."

Her mother was there shopping with her, so she definitely could have intervened at any point. If anyone should be accountable, it's definitely her, but daddy doesn't see it that way -- probably because all the dollar signs in his eyes are in the way.

The bottom line is that it was an accident. Those happen a lot in life, and suing for something like this is just ridiculous. The worst part of it is the example this man is setting for his daughter -- to not take responsibility for yourself and your family but to pass blame whenever you can ... especially when there's something to potentially gain.

What do you think of this lawsuit?
