Jenelle Evans Is Crazy to Think She Can Prevent Teen Pregnancy

jenelle evans instagramFor her relationship/custody/drug drama and more, Jenelle Evans is, in a word, infamous. But the Teen Mom 2 star apparently still believes she can be a role model for teens. She tweeted yesterday, "Wow! I got a lot of school appearances booked already! Can't wait to talk about Teen Pregnancy Prevention!"

Hrmmm, really? Jenelle Evans is going to school young, impressionable minds about steering clear of the path she took? Which lead her to MTV fame (or infamy, to be more specific, but still, I'm sure lots o' kids these days don't really care about the differentiation)? That said, I'm not seeing how any Teen Mom reality star -- or anyone who has become a "star" by having a teen pregnancy -- is the best person to get through to teens. But of all of 'em, Jenelle seems like the least likely.

Sure, everyone makes mistakes, but let's look at the facts: Jenelle doesn't have custody of her son, her mother Barbara does. She's battled drug addiction, has gone to jail and rehab, and has an estranged husband named Courtland but is currently in a relationship with New Guy Nathan. As far as we can tell, she hasn't had some huge turnaround and started living a completely upstanding, clean, mature adult existence just yet. So what makes her a good candidate to counsel teens on ... anything? Let alone the fact that it kiiiinda looks hypocritical, or at least nonsensical, for her or anyone in her position to tell them to not get pregnant when getting pregnant was what helped make her a celebrity.

Despite all of this, I appreciate that she's attempting to use her notoriety to accomplish something positive -- hopefully encouraging teens to use various forms of birth control, including but not limited to abstinence. Because if her "teen pregnancy prevention" talk is actually a completely unrealistic, moralistic scientifically proven-ineffective spiel on just saying "no" to sex, then it's an even bigger joke than it sounds.

How do you feel about Jenelle Evans preachin' to teens about teen pregnancy prevention?

So-Called 'Feminist' Takes Pro-Choice Stance to a Crazy New Level

Sex-selective abortions aren't breaking news. Most of us are aware of the horrifying fact that in countries like China and India many pregnancies have been terminated because parents aren't happy with the gender -- which is typically female -- of their unborn child. Rude awakening time: this practice is occurring in countries like the United States, Canada, and Great Britain, as well. And so-called feminists who should be up in arms over the very thought of aborting a baby just because she has a vagina actually have the nerve to defend it.

Ann Faredi, who is the chief executive of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, made her position on the matter quite clear this week when she said:

There is no legal requirement to deny a woman an abortion if she has a sex preference. We either support a woman's capacity to decide or we don't. You can't be pro-choice except when you don't like the choice.

Excuse me? When did the world become so black and white, Ms. Faredi? I consider myself pro-choice, but I don't consider myself a defender of abortions-for-everyone-for-any-old-reason. I expect people who take a pro-life stance to argue with me about what they consider the immoral act of terminating a pregnancy based on the health of the fetus or because a woman was raped or is mentally or physically incapable of carrying the baby to term. Although I disagree with it, I can respectfully understand the opposing view. But there is no justification in my opinion -- cultural or otherwise --  worthy of arguing in favor of aborting a fetus because it isn't male.

On a personal note, I am 13 weeks pregnant and in the process of undergoing a slew of sonograms and genetic tests -- most of which I haven't opted to take. The latest test, which I did choose to take, is called Cell-Free Fetal DNA Testing. I was in shock when my doctor told me she'd be able to not only uncover the gender mystery for me as early as Week 15, but to tell me if my child may have fertility problems of his or her own. I can't help but wonder how many parents might consider terminating their pregnancies based on the fact that their child might not be "picture perfect." There's no doubt in my mind we've become test happy, but it's completely within our control to refrain from trying to manipulate the results of our pregnancies to the umpteenth degree. And I can't stand by and defend the normalization of a brutal practice like sex-selective abortion.Do you think sex-selective abortions are a woman's choice? Lisa Fogarty ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lisa Fogarty

Crazy One Direction Fan Allegedly Kills Dog Because They Ignored Her

Penulis : Unknown on vrijdag 13 september 2013 | 14:16

vrijdag 13 september 2013

Warning: the story I'm about to share with you is highly unpleasant. On August 29, a fan using the Twitter handle @illumivato tweeted the British boy band One Direction with the threat, "FOLLOW ME OR I'LL BREAK MY DOG'S NECK." She included a photo of a tiny dog being held down on the floor, someone's hand on its neck. When she wasn't followed, another tweet was eventually sent to singer Liam Payne with the message that the dog was now dead, along with a disturbing photo of a crying girl holding the unmoving dog.

There are plenty of folks who believe this Twitter account -- which is now suspended -- was a hoax, and hopefully that's true. But there's something about the creepy second photo that makes me believe someone really did kill that dog.

Worse, this isn't the first threatening image the fan has posted.

I kind of hate to even speculate about this whole thing, because it's either completely gruesome or a deranged joke, but if you can stand it, take a close look at this photo @illumivato posted:

Maybe the dog is just ... lying there? But to me its little face looks totally lifeless.

I hope I'm just reading too much into a prank and the dog is perfectly fine. The thing that makes me lean towards believing this is a sick hoax account is that there have been other disturbing images posted from the allegedly obsessed One Direction fan, including cats and dogs stuffed into blenders, a gun held to a little dog, and a young boy bound with duct tape. Each photo included a demand that someone from One Direction follow her account.

There's currently a nearly 4,000-signature-strong Change.org petition asking for the @illumivato account to be investigated by Twitter, PETA, the police, and other organizations. So far, the accountholder's name and location have not been revealed.

The messed up part of this story is that even if there isn't REALLY a crazy fan who's willing to break the neck of her beloved pet to get a boy band's attention, there's at least a crazy person who's willing to pretend to be that psychotic. One situation is better than the other, I suppose, but either way it's pretty upsetting.

Do you think this Twitter account was a hoax?

5 Crazy Relationship Dealbreakers That Will Stop You From Finding True Love

DealbreakerA new study has come out from an electronic cigarette company naming some of the five most obvious dealbreakers in relationships. Some of them are big while others are surprisingly small -- as in, you would leave a man over THAT?! Really?

To me, it really depends on where you are in the relationship. What is a dealbreaker at 10 months in might not be at 10 years in. I would just hope we would be broken up long before we made it to the 10-year mark in that case.

For me, things like cheating and lying are right off the bat going to set off alarm bells. Smaller things that can be worked out -- like smoking or watching too many sports on television -- might be able to be dealt with without ending it. According to the SKYCIG survey, the biggest dealbreakers in a relationship are smoking, followed by not listening, bad money management, laziness, and more. Some of these are good, but some are just ... dumb. Here are five other crazy dealbreakers I have heard from other women:

What is your deal breaker? Do you have one?

Another person I know had a boyfriend who made roughly five times what she made and guess what?! He still never paid for anything. To her mind, he was always going to be stingy and that was a dealbreaker. Actually makes a lot of sense, no?

Shared School Supplies Are Making Me Crazy

school suppliesDo you remember when you were a kid and you were super excited to buy new school supplies? I do -- I can still recall the thrill of an un-scribbled set of Pee-Chee folders, that satisfyingly loud Velcro rrrrrrrip of a new Trapper Keeper, troll pencil toppers with their fuzzy style-able hair, fruit-scented erasers, multicolored push-up pens, and scratch 'n' sniff stickers (remember the pizza one that said "Hot stuff"?).

I have no idea how much money my mom spent on school products back in the day, but I can't imagine it was as much as I just shelled out for my kindergartener and second-grader. Not only did I drop nearly 80 bucks for items off their school's supply list, what really makes me nostalgic for the old days is the fact that they won't actually get to keep ANY of the things I bought.

Well, okay, that's not completely true. My second-grader's list included an 8" x 5" pencil box, which I assume he'll get to use. However, based on past experience, everything else goes straight into the shared classroom pool.

Now, before you think I'm about to complain about the hideous injustice of having to help contribute to our school's resources, I am SO not doing that. I realize schools have ever-dwindling budgets, families are crunched for cash, and in some cases, teachers end up paying for supplies out of their own pocket.

I would be happy to contribute cash for a communal set of supplies, but it seems to me that every year the supply list of products that I'm supposed to go out and buy -- that aren't meant for my own kid, but rather the classroom at large -- gets bigger and bigger, and more and more specific. This year, between my two kids (who are 5 and 8), I had to buy 70 Ticonderoga pencils. I mean, SEVENTY PENCILS. If every parent did this, there would be about 2,100 pencils between one second grade and one kindergarten classroom. And god forbid they're not Ticonderoga.

I also bought three reams of Hammermill paper, six Kleenex boxes, 16 Elmer's glue sticks, two packages of Expo dry erase markers, three boxes of Crayola crayons and pencils, two multi-packs of Pink Pearl erasers, and an assortment of (thankfully non-brand-name-required) binders and folders. Not to mention the $30 cash fee for "misc supplies."

I understand that it's logistically difficult for teachers to have to manage kids keeping track of their own supplies, especially since seating arrangements in classrooms aren't anything like they used to be (back in my day, uphill both ways in the snow, the top of our desks lifted up to reveal a storage area underneath -- in comparison, my kids sit at cafeteria-style tables). But isn't the responsibility of taking care of your own stuff an important lesson to learn in school?

I guess I can be convinced that a communal system is the only way to ensure all kids will have what they need, and that a shared supply eliminates unnecessary distractions and competitive behavior. I'm still bitter about those 70 Ticonderoga pencils, though. Frankly, if we were paying into a school fee for supplies -- maybe even twice a year so the school actually knows what they need -- the district could purchase everything in bulk and each parent would spend WAY less. The current system may be more fair, but it's wasteful and expensive for those who buy into it.

Does your school do communal supplies? How do you feel about them?

miley cyrusMiley Cyrus is one of the few people in the world who's been blessed with a body type that looks good in basically everything. Soooo, why is she wearing this? The "We Can't Stop" singer stepped out in a pair of shorts so tiny the Hubble Telescope might not be to spot them; a tank top that had the words "Ain't Nothing But a G Thang" printed in calligraphy on the front; and a hairstyle that one typically doesn't see on anyone over the age of 2. What up, Miley?

I get that Miley is young; "going through puberty at 20 years old"; and experimenting right now, but she wears the same types of things over and over and over again. Always something super tight, always something super short. The girl has a fantastic body and she ought to show it off, but ... maybe once in a while, try something new? She should experiment within her experimental phase! It would be so nice to see Miley in a loose maxi dress. Or just, I dunno, a t-shirt and jeans. That would actually be more shocking than what she's wearing here.

As for her hair, I actually find it weirdly cute. Maybe because it reminds me of my toddler. I don't think I'd advise Miley to wear it like this every day. But for once in a while, what the hey, right?

Thoughts on Miley Cyrus' outfit and 'do?

Kelly Clarkson Will Elope Instead of Letting a Big Wedding Drive Her Crazy

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
by Maressa Brown 4 hours ago

kelly clarkson brandon blackstockKelly Clarkson laid rumors to rest that she's pregnant and having a shotgun wedding, but she confirmed that she is, in fact, eloping! Taking to Twitter late yesterday, she wrote, "FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant. We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony." Good for them!

Still, people were bound to let their imaginations run wild about why she'd nix the elaborate affair, if only because it's kinda hard to understand why a celeb who can get a killer venue, big lush flowers, Grammy Award winners for entertainment, etc., would throw the towel in on the whole she-bang. But I totally get it.

Considering how Kelly said only earlier this week to Ryan Seacrest that she was "so over ... the wedding" and that she "just got so overwhelmed by ... the decisions," it sounds like scaling things down and eloping was a brilliant way to go.

For many brides, there can come a time when you feel like the planning is just all getting away from you, and it's become way bigger and more out of control and stressful than it needs to be. Above all that, it can feel as if it's become about everything except getting married.

More from The Stir: Kelly Clarkson's Wedding Breakdown Was Inevitable

In my case, we have the kinds of families who would have been totally crushed if they hadn't been a part of it all, people who couldn't travel, and all different personalities with varied priorities and preferences, which contributed to a lot of the stress. I'm actually not sure if eloping could have worked for us, though it sure is amusing to entertain the thought!

At the very least, I'm convinced more brides should consider making like Kelly, putting their foot down, and opting to go the more intimate route if it's at all possible ... Especially if going the other way is driving them completely insane!

What do you think about Kelly Clarkson's decision to elope? Do you wish you had?

7 Ways to Keep Facebook From Driving You Crazy

facebookFacebook makes you happier, smarter, and more at one with the real world. Just kidding. It makes you depressed, dumber, and is super isolating. Another study has found that, duh, Facebook makes you sad. But we already know that, so no need to dwell. Let's focus on another interesting thing the study found. People tend to spend a decent chunk of time looking at the Facebook pages of people they don't like -- "frenemies and exes", to be exact. Why, right? Seems kind of masochistic and like a terrible use of social media.

Let's stop the madness, you guys. What do you say? Let's, for once and for all, learn to use Facebook in a healthy way with these 7 tips!

Or, you know, just quit.

1. Don't be friends with people you haven't had physical contact with in two years or less. Have your friends on Facebook be people you're actually friends with. You know, people you care about and who care about you. If you spend your time looking up what Joe Schmo from high school is up to, really, what did you do all day?

2. Only be friends with people you actually like. I understand the concept of stalking people you don't like -- girls who made your life a living hell in grade school; some jerkface you used to work with, but ... what is the point? What good comes out of that? It's a waste of perfectly good time and energy. You could be ... knitting instead.

3. Don't be friends with exes!!! Bad, bad, bad idea. Just bad.

4. Limit your Facebook checking to once a day. Once you go upward of three Facebook checks a day, it's bordering on obsession. Tell yourself you can check once and then call it.

5. Don't have Facebook on your phone. It's one of the reasons you check it so often! You're bored in line at the store, so what do you do? Check Facebook! Stop! If you just have it on your computer, you won't be on it as frequently.

6. Don't be the person who posts super personal things. Facebook is a social media site, it's not a therapy session. Having people you're not very close with know all sorts of personal info about your life isn't healthy. Like, at all.

7. Don't stare at other people's photos and convince yourself that that's how their life is. Because it's not. They're only posting their greatest hits. Trust me.

What do you have to add?

Lady Gaga's Crazy Nude 'Meditation' Video Is Just Another Publicity Stunt (VIDEO)

AppId is over the quota

by Jacqueline Burt 15 hours ago

lady gagaWhen you think of Lady Gaga, does the term "New Age" come to mind? Does the pop diva's name instantly conjure up images of crystals and naked forest sprites prancing about and doing yoga? No?! Well. It should. Because Gaga's latest, er ... creative venture is a two-minute video devoted to all things spiritually enlightened. And by all things spiritually enlightened, we mean crystals and naked forest sprites prancing about and doing yoga. With tattoos. And rain boots.

Confused yet? I suspect that's the point. See, Lady Gaga is appearing naked in a new video promoting "The Abramovic Method," a technique for achieving "heightened physical and mental awareness" designed by performance artist Marina Abramovic. Gaga's participation is, I assume, meant to imply that the singer has in fact achieved said physical and mental awareness. Right? Why else would Lady Gaga be involved in ... oh, wait a sec.

Does this whole spiritual shebang stink of publicity stunt to anybody else? Oh, I don't mean to be needlessly cynical. Really. But just take a look at this video! (Which is, by the way, NSFW!!! Or for viewing around children, depending on how you feel about nudity in a non-sexual but sensational context.)

Get what I'm saying now? Look, I'm cool with yoga and crystals and nudity and tattoos ... I'm cool with everything in this video (except the bleached eyebrows, which freak me the crap out, and sitting naked on a giant crystal, which just looks uncomfortable). I just don't buy that Lady Gaga is really going through some spiritual transformation via "The Abramovic Method." Consider her track record: The blood and semen perfume. The meat dress. The egg thing. Just saying. Whatever gets her publicity floats her boat, it's all good. I wouldn't start calling her Lady Guru, though.

Do you think Lady Gaga's naked forest yoga video is a publicity stunt?

Kim Kardashian Is Crazy to Want North to 'Model' Her New Baby Clothing Line

Kim Kardashian baby clothing lineWell, it's official. Not even childbirth can stop Kim Kardashian's brain from making those cash register noises. It's been less than two months since she's become a mother and she's already thinking about her next business move -- which involves babies now, naturally.

Despite the fact that Kim's been ridiculed for her fashion sense lately, she apparently still thinks she has what it takes to design clothes. So she's decided to create a baby clothing line. Because, yes! That's what the world needs! Ridiculously overpriced crop-top onesies. With fringe!

And the worst part? Kim's designer friend who she is reportedly teaming up with says Baby North West will be a "great poster child" for the line.

Excuse me, WHAT?

Am I the only one who finds this absolutely ridiculous? This child is WEEKS old. She can't talk, walk, and she certainly can't model. (Unless modeling requires nothing more than, you know, lying there.) She has no idea that she was born into this mega-famous, attention-hungry family. In a sense, it's really unfair to do to the child. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Even Kris Jenner has used the baby for publicity for her show already, so why should Kim with this clothing line idea be any different?

I'm sure Kim's baby line would make a ton of money, and I'm sure having North as the "model" would fuel the success even more. But Kim really needs to reflect on what's truly important in life now more than ever: family or money and fame.

Let's hope she makes the right choice.

Do you really think Kim would make her baby become a model?

10 Signs Your Man Is 'Gaslighting' You to Make You Seem Crazy

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Have you ever felt like you were going crazy? And not because anyone has 5150'd you. But because someone -- maybe it's your husband -- keeps telling you you're crazy. "Are you crazy?" you hear over and over. "You are really paranoid. You need to get your head checked!" Hear that enough times and you probably believe it. But are you really crazy or are you being gaslighted?

"Gaslighted" is an psychiatric term that came from a classic movie starring Ingrid Bergman called Gaslight (which was a British play before that). In it, her husband tries to drive her mad. (Netflix it.) But it turns out she's not crazy after all -- her husband is just trying to make her think she is. Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse wherein your partner manipulates your perception of reality. Here's 10 signs you're being gaslighted.

1. You're told something is normal that you can feel deep in your bones is not. Say your husband (or partner or boyfriend or even friend) does something you find strange. Like ask you to lie for him. You don't think this is right. You say so. He comes back with something like, "Every wife would do this. We're a team. I'm in trouble and I need you. I can't believe you don't think that this is normal. There is something wrong with you!"

2. You're told you are paranoid, too sensitive, or stressed out. Again, something strange happens. Your husband is seen out with a woman you don't know. You ask him about it. He has some vague explanation but then tops it off with, "Really, honey, you are totally paranoid to think I'd be cheating on you. Are you hormonal? Maybe you need to see a therapist."

3. You start to exhibit "crazy" behavior. You find yourself doing things that you couldn't imagine doing before you were with your man. Like questioning every time he goes out; accusing him of things that may or may not be true; going through the garbage to find "evidence" that he's lying to you again. You may find yourself desperately scouring the aisles of a grocery store, determined to get the right kind of pasta sauce so you don't "disappoint" him again, and end up having a meltdown when you find they're out of Classico.

4. You mistrust your perceptions. You're constantly being told that what you're seeing, hearing, feeling isn't what you're seeing, hearing, feeling. You tell a joke at a party and everyone laughs, but your husband later tells you you weren't funny. You look in the mirror and see someone who is thin, but he tells you you've gained weight. You've always thought you were smart, but somehow with your husband, you always feel dumb.

5. You begin to accept his perceptions, even though they don't seem true. You were at a restaurant with your husband and struck up a quick conversation with the waiter. Your husband tells you were being flirtacious. "Was I being flirtacious?" you ask yourself, even though that wasn't your intention at all. "I must have been and don't realize it." You ask what you think is a reasonable question only to be told you are harping. "Am I harping?" you think. "Maybe I am a nag."

6. You start to feel like your memory is terrible. Your husband is always saying something to the effect of, "I never said that, did that, promised that," to things you're pretty certain he said, did, or promised. He might tell you that he "never" gets on Facebook, but when you see him on Facebook and mention it, he says, "I didn't say I never went on Facebook. I just hardly go on it." Then you see him on it the next day. And the next.

7. You start to feel like your spouse has a terrible memory. You can have a deep conversation one night about something important to you, only to have your spouse say later, "We never talked about that," "I definitely never said that," or "Did you dream this?" You might get tempted to record conversations just so you can keep them straight.

8. You start lying. In order to avoid all of the mental abuse you'll know you'll get if you say a, b, or c, you start to lie. You were never a liar in the past. You don't lie to other people.

9. You begin to think you're crazy. You have thoughts like, "Maybe he's right and I'm just totally overreacting. I am always overreacting," or "There must be something wrong with me that I'm always on him about stupid things."

10. Depression. The end stage of being gaslighted is that you feel depressed, anxious, unsure, and hopeless. Does he care or not care? Are you oversensitive or do you have a right to complain? You end up getting so confused and disoriented that you check out into depression.

Every couple has miscommunications, and everyone hears or sees things sometimes that they misconstrue, but if you are frequently experiencing the above symptoms, you are likely being gaslighted.

Do you ever feel like this?

6 Ways to Rock the ‘Coated Jeans' Trend but Is It Worth the Crazy Price?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

NYDJ coated denimCoated denim jeans (also known as "waxed denim") are super stylish and just the right amount of edgy to still be wearable for the average person. They have the sexy look of leather jeans, without actually BEING leather jeans, which are just a little too much (and too impracticle) for me -- at least on about 354 days of the year. The drawback? Coated jeans are fairly pricey: You can find bargains, but a quality pair that actually looks they way they're supposed to look (and not just cheap and shiny) is probably going to set you back close to $100. And if you get into the designer arena, think double, triple or quadruple that!

So, is a good pair of coated denim jeans really worth it?

I say, if you can swing it, yes! For one thing, this trend has already been around for a little while, and it's not going anywhere soon, so it's not like you're spending money on something that will look totally outdated by Christmas. For another, they're really flattering and hot looking, without being over the top. And last but not least, they're JUST as versatile as regular denim, if not MORE, so you'll get a lot of use out of them.

Here are some tips on totally rocking your investment:

1. Make sure they fit you really well. The wax coating makes these jeans not as stretchy as most denim is these days, so you won't have as much forgiveness if you size down. The benefit though, is they'll keep their shape really well. Try them on, and don't settle for a pair that you don't love!

2. Get over your need for jeans to be ultra-comfy. Yes, sorry to say, but these just won't be as soft and snugly as your favorite, go-to pair of jeans. But that's OK because they look great!

3.  Dress them down. You can pretty much wear your coated denim jeans in place of a regular pair of jeans, but your whole outfit will be just a little hotter. (And by hot I mean HAWT.) A casual tank top and sandals; a long-sleeved tee with ballet flats; a printed blouse with ankle boots ... all of these would look great with your slick denim for a slightly revved up but still casual look.

4. Dress them up! Take the same pair of coated denim, add a pair of sparkly high heels or sexy sling-backs and a slinky top, and you're ready for va-va-va voom date night.

5. Wear them to the office. Unless you have a really, super strict corporate dress code, you can wear coated denim jeans to more than just casual Friday. A sharp pair of coated denim black jeans  will look sleek and put-together with a blouse, blazer, and low heels.

6. Go for (muted) color. These NYDJ "Sheri Skinny" coated denim jeans in oxblood are on my fall wish list. SO on trend and chic. ($130 at NYDJ.com)

What do you think about the coated jean trend? Can you see yourself in a pair?

Father-to-Be's Crazy Police Chase to Hospital Proves He’s Not Mature Enough to Be a Dad

When it comes to having a baby, there's a lot you have to worry about. Whether or not you'll get to the hospital on time is one. And dad-to-be panicking is another. Add getting to the hospital and dad-to-be panicking together and it can be a recipe for disaster! One man found himself on the wrong end of the law while racing to the hospital to see the birth of his child. The hitch? Mom was already in an ambulance. But that didn't stop dad from careening down the highway like he was in a remake of Smokey and the Bandit. And you won't believe how much law it took to finally get new dad to pull over!

It all started when a cop noticed a man speeding and zigzagging across freeway lanes in San Diego. The officer flashed his lights and tried to pull the car over, but Smokey just kept smokin' down the highway, refusing to slow down.

So the officer called for backup. More cop cars showed up and tried to pull him over to no avail, so a police helicopter was added to the mix. Starting to sound like a scene from Goodfellas.

Finally, police got ahead of the speeding car and set up a spike strip along the highway. Not an easy thing to do since you've got to catch your man but not spike every other car traveling on the road.

But it worked and the guy's tires were blown out. Cops descended with guns drawn. When he got out of the car, he admitted he had seen the cops and decided to ignore them. But he had an interesting excuse for his reckless driving.

His wife was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital and he wanted to be on time for the birth! Police were able to check and make sure his story was true. He wasn't charged, but could be later.

Hey, I admire his dedication to seeing his baby born, but really, dude? You had to endanger not only everyone else on the highway, and the cops, but yourself too?

Here's a clue, Smokey: Your wife needs you now. So does your baby. They don't need you dead. They don't need you in jail for killing or injuring someone else. Not to mention you could have pulled over and explained the situation and probably got a police escort.

Now you're a dad. You have a little person depending on you being alive.

Slow the hell down, bro.

Did your husband drive like a maniac on the way to the hospital?

Crazy New Vampire Grave Discovery Shows the Undead Ain't All That Bright

skullsVampire movies and TV shows are all well and good, but there's nothing like a real life vampire discovery to set my spine a-tingling -- right? True stories of the undead don't come around all that often, of course, but when they do? Well, let's just look at a couple of past examples, shall we? First there was that crazy "lady vampire" skull excavated in Italy thought to be evidence of "The Chewing Dead" (yuck!), then there were those other "vampire skeletons" discovered in Bulgaria pinned to their final resting places with giant stakes for all eternity ... NOW Polish archaeologists claim to have found FOUR sets of "vampire" bones with their heads placed between their legs! Folk tradition held that this burial arrangement would ensure that a possible bloodsucker couldn't find his head and come back to life.

Uh, yup. Apparently, according to "folk tradition," this burial arrangement was a sort of guarantee that vampires wouldn't come back to life, really, because if they did, they wouldn't be able to ... find their heads. Huh. Really? So clearly the people of long-ago Poland (the country's last vampire burial is thought to have occurred "long before 1914") didn't think of the undead as all that bright, exactly. I mean, let's say a "vampire" gets staked and beheaded and buried, right? Then, the next night, the sun goes down ... and the vampire "wakes up" ... and is all like, "Where's my effing head?!" Then the vampire would probably start groping around in its grave, right? One would think that after about, oh, I don't know, 30 seconds or so, said vampire would be like, "Oh, HERE it is! Between my legs! I'll just put that back where it belongs on the top of my neck and a-hunting I will go!"

Maybe (definitely) my whole perception of vampires has been warped by shows like, oh, I don't know, True Blood, but I would still like to believe that immortal types aren't doomed to roam the planet with the intellect of tree stumps!! That's not hot at all.

If vampires exist, do you think they're smart?

Brandi Glanville New Book Title Is Absolutely Crazy

brandi glanvilleWhen Brandi Glanville said she wouldn't be dishing on Eddie and LeAnn in her second book, my dramatic eye-roll could be seen from miles away. Yeah. Right. I mean, she pretends she hates the devilish duo, but come on, she secretly loves the attention she gets from talking about them. It's an absolute goldmine!

However, she seems to really want to end all of this "failed marriage" business and pave a new path for herself. And who could blame her? The problem is if she's not spilling the dirt on Eddie, then what else does she have to talk about?

Well according to a tweet from Brandi, her new book is going to be called ... drumroll, please ... Drinking, Dating, and Medicating. Now that's a title!

Brandi could totally be pulling our leg and giving us a fake title to appease our appetites for more deets on her crazy fabulous life, or she could be telling us ... the truth. Either way, she has a enough sass to make sure that anything she writes is going to please her fans. Let's hyper-analyze this title and see if there's any truth in the tweet:

1. Drinking. No surprise that "drinking" is in the title; we all know it's one of her favorite pastimes (and we love her for it)! Also, her last book was titled Dating and Tweeting, so it could be a nice connection to her next tell-all tale.

2. Dating. No lies there. Brandi has already revealed that her second book is going to focus on her relationships.

3. Medicating. Now here is where it gets a little tricky. Brandi has been known to be an open book (and that's the way we like her!), but is she actually going to dedicate a third of her book to self-medicating? I don't think so. I have no doubt that she has the guts and fierceness to tell it like it is when it comes to any aspect of her life, but I think she might be messing around with us. A girl's gotta have some fun, right?

All I can say is that if she pulls off this book without harping on all of the Eddie and LeAnn drama, then she can proudly say that she's officially moved on. And you know what? She deserves a drink for that.

Will you be reading Brandi's new book? Why or why not?

Woman's Crazy Revenge on Cheating Husband Only Makes Her Look Bad

Penulis : Unknown on donderdag 18 juli 2013 | 15:49

Cheaters. Ugh. They're just so vile. So selfish. So deserving of a massive Twitter rant. But you shouldn't do it. Much as you want to. Airing your dirty laundry in a massively public way may feel good in the moment, but months or years down the road, all that vitriol will still be there for your friends, family, children, and yourself to see -- and yet you've (hopefully) moved on. The problem with the Internet is that it doesn't move on. One very angry wife is going to learn this lesson someday. I don't blame the woman, who goes by the name "VeeVee" and who is married to a Silicon Valley hotshot named Scott Jones, for being spitting mad. When VeeVee, who is apparently pregnant, found out the father of her four other kids was supposedly having an affair with a coworker -- well, you know what they say about hell hath no fury!

VeeVee went on a tear on Twitter. And on her blog. She scalded her husband in language that will stand the hair on your neck on end. According to VeeVee's many, many tweets (her account has since been disabled), she was pregnant with the couple's fifth child when she discovered the affair. The other woman is also married.

VeeVee posted pics of the other woman -- and even the other woman's husband -- and went ape. Some examples:

- Ruff ruff. Wonder if your husband knows? That you blow your boss? And then kiss him afterwards? You're trifling good for nothing.

- Goddamnit she's so ugly it makes me feel ugly lol

- While I'm pregnant with his 5th baby, named after him, to save our marriage. He screws that ugly dog :-/ I'm so hurt & this is venting

- I think he has a sexual addiction. He's like a dog.

- What do you call a man marry a ghetto chic from Philly without a prenup & cheats on her? FUCKED That's what you should call him.

I feel for VeeVee. She's railing and with good cause.

But she gives no absolute proof that it's happening. We don't know his side of the story.

And why would you want your kids to see all of this stuff online?

It's really, really difficult not to want to share it with the world when someone has hurt you. As someone who wrote a memoir about a breakup, believe me, I know. But I also didn't reveal my ex's name or face. I even showed the book to him before it was published and told him he could make changes. There's a long history of heartbreak in art, be it poems, books, movies, or songs, so I'm not suggesting that it not be the basis for a cathartic outpouring. (Taylor Swift wouldn't be in business otherwise.)

But the Internet is not art.

Raw emotions unfiltered and uncensored and thrown up on Twitter or your personal blog can never be totally erased -- even if you erase them. Unfortunately stuff like this makes the cheated-on party look worse than the cheater. In fact, according to one of VeeVee's tweets, her husband and his supposed mistress were filing harassment charges against her. See? Now she's the one in trouble! Ugh.

It would be nice if we had laws against cheating, wouldn't it? Then the cheater could do a little time in jail and you'd get some satisfaction without having to take your pain to the masses. Yet adultery isn't illegal (at least in most states) and no-fault divorce means cheaters don't ever get punished in court either. But if it's true that VeeVee doesn't have a pre-nup, hopefully she can take him to the cleaners.

Sigh. How to punish them? How to hurt them back? You can't really. It sucks. At the end of the day, you have to trust karma will get them. Or you can write a song. Maybe it becomes a big hit, you make a lot of money, and then you buy the building your ex lives in and toss him on the street.

Is there an acceptable way to get back at a cheat?

5 Outrageous Ice Cream Truck Stories That Are Almost Too Crazy to Believe

AppId is over the quota

by Adriana Velez 11 hours ago

ice cream truckShh, listen a moment. Do you hear that? It's the sound of thousands and thousands of ice cream trucks delivering icy sweetness to children and grownups all over the country. Their songs may differ, but that soft-serve cone tastes exactly the same every damn time, doesn't it?

Summertime, and ice cream truck season well underway. But that truck o' fun isn't always so innocent, not to everyone. Sometimes the Good Humor man delivers a serving of overheated insanity. Here's a few of our favorite crazy ice cream truck news stories. What is it, people -- the heat, or the sugar?

No more ice cream truck tunes: Can you believe the Long Beach, California city council wants to ban ice cream truck music? How are you supposed to know it's around if you're indoors, where the air conditioning is, without that music? What a bunch of cranks.

Ban the ice cream carts, too: Last summer one New York mom's demand to ban ice cream carts from playgrounds went viral. So you see, there are icy Grinches on both sides of the coast. WTF, people? Would these people be nicer if someone just bought them a popsicle?

Ice cream wars: Another golden oldie from last year -- remember when two rival ice cream trucks fought it out on the street? Well, their drivers fought it out, but the trucks suffered all the damage. You guys, you're supposed to deliver joy, not strife.

Ice cream bait-and-switch: One prankster outfitted an ice cream truck with healthy food. Actually, that would have made me happy because I prefer cucumbers to soft-serve, but I'm a weirdo. Ooh, I bet the mom who wants to ban ice cream carts would have loved the truck, too. But most people tricked by the veggie truck were understandably pissed.

Ice Cream Truck-Jacking: An ice cream truck was carjacked in Washington, D.C. The mugger threatened the two people inside with a handgun and ran off with money and cellphones. It was 10:30 at night, so at least this didn't happen in broad daylight when there would have been more kids around. But this guy definitely wins for the biggest ice cream truck spoiler of them all.

Keep cool out there, everyone. I know it's hot out there. But remember, it's just ice cream.

How do you feel about ice cream trucks?
