I love a good military homecoming video. Who doesn't (no, really, who?)? But I've always wondered how it is that these moms and dads manage to keep themselves from blowing the surprise. If it were me just home from war, I don't know that I could contain myself. That's what I really love about the latest military mom surprising her kid at a football game.

Capt. JR Lund came home early from Afghanistan. She didn't tell her 13-year-old daughter ... so she could manage to surprise her at Saturday's Wisconsin vs. Purdue game. But from the looks of it, Mom almost didn't make it to the game!

Aww! Did you catch the part about how Mom just wanted to go run over and grab her daughter ... but she was trying her darndest to rein it in so she could make the surprise even more meaningful? She almost ruined her own surprise! Maybe it's because she's an Army Reservist that JR Lund is so much stronger than the rest of us?

Or at least stronger than me?

I don't know that I could do it. If I'm away from my kid just for a few days for a business trip, I come home and it's all I can do not to smother the poor thing with love and attention!

Not that JR Lund's daughter isn't getting plenty of that -- did you see the look on mother's and daughter's faces when they finally DID see each other?

Would you be able to hold out to surprise your kid or would you ruin your own surprise?

¿Has comido, dejó una propina y entonces vi a ver cómo reaccionó su servidor a su punta? Andrew Hales, quien hace vídeos bromista en su programa de YouTube LAHWF, consiguió junto con amigo Stuart borde para tirar de la clase de broma que todos podamos detrás: ellos izquierdo $200 Consejos para sus servidores de. La mejor parte del video es cuando ves cómo reaccionan los servidores para recoger ese fajo de billetes.

Los chicos tire la broma inflexión de tres personas diferentes, y las tres son simplemente encantadas, por supuesto. Pero lo realmente interesante es que dos de los servidores también fueron relevados porque estaban en apuros financieros, y realmente ayudó esa bonificación inesperada.Te hace pensar en la diferencia su Consejo puede ser en otra vida.

Obviamente no podemos irnos todos consejos de $200. No puedo! Pero haremos lo que podamos. Uno de los servidores señala que él hace apenas más de 2 dólares la hora. Hace le pregunto si son tan bajos los salarios de los servidores, ¿por qué no les pagan más y deshacerse de vuelco en conjunto? Pero como eso no ocurre en la mayoría restaurantes en los Estados Unidos, vuelco importante.

me encantó ver cómo reaccionaron los servidores de. Estaba encogiéndose cuando filmaron los servidores agradeciendo a los chicos por las puntas, eso es sólo un poco egoísta (ejem) creo. Pero es cuando descubrimos lo que significan las grandes propinas para los camareros, así que puedo ver por qué lo dejaron en. Aún así, ¿no crees lo más gracioso sería sólo escapar tranquilamente?

De todos modos, con todas las inflexión historias de terror que leemos todo el tiempo, esto fue un regalo Bienvenido. Finalmente, alguien tratando de equilibrar la negatividad. Espero que esto inspira a aquellos que pueden dar más.

Racist 1-Word Note on Restaurant Bill Is Almost Too Awful to Believe

We've seen a lot of nasty things written on restaurant bills, but I think this must be the worst. Student Toni Jenkins was waiting tables at a suburban Nashville Red Lobster when she saw the note a 20-something couple left her. Instead of a tip, she got the n-word scrawled on the bill. Ugh! Toni was so appalled, she posted a photo of the bill on Facebook, commenting, "... so happy to live in the proud southern states ... God Bless America, land of the free and home of the low class racists of Tennessee."

I can see how that insult would sting. I don't blame Toni for responding the way that she did. She says it was a post intended just for her friends and family, and she just wanted some support and commiseration. But then her employers found out about her Facebook post.

The restaurant suspended Jenkins for a couple days while they decided what to do. She was suspended on full pay, but still -- what kind of message does that send? Is she really such a danger to her customers that they're afraid of exposing more customers to her? OMG, the uppity bitch who doesn't like being called racist slurs -- run for the hills!

I can see why it's unprofessional to post a receipt with an ugly slur online. While it's not the restaurant's fault at all, it's not great publicity for them, either. But I'm a little puzzled by the suspension. They say it's "standard procedure" for employees who post photos of receipts online. But under these more extreme circumstances, couldn't they have just had a conversation with Jenkins and asked her to remove the photo and not post any like that in the future? 

At least Red Lobster sent out a statement condemning the racial slur. A spokesman says the chain is "extremely disturbed" by the incident. "We take this extremely seriously. This kind of language is completely disgusting and has no place in our restaurant or anywhere else, and we are committed to getting to the bottom of what happened as quickly as possible." Jenkins hasn't actually missed any days at work and is expected to return on schedule. I kind of feel like her suspension got blown out of proportion in reports, though I also think she shouldn't have been suspended at all. 

At any rate, I'm glad Red Lobster is clear about saying bigotry has no place at their business. Like I always say, racism is not delicious.

Hayden Panettiere Does Something So Shocking With Her Hair It Almost Looks Fake (PHOTO)

It's perfectly normal to want to experiment and change up your hairstyles from time to time to keep things exciting -- but just wait until you see Hayden Panettiere's new locks, which are anything but characteristic for her.

Compared to a lot of other celebrities, she's just so fresh faced and natural, well, other than the boob job she's rumored to have had, of course. (That doesn't count.)

And that's why it seems strange that she went for such a drastic change with her bold new do. Hayden's hair is so shocking, in fact, that I'm not totally convinced that she isn't wearing a wig.

Drum roll, please -- check out those blunt bangs and her platinum blonde shade!

Well, what do you think -- are you digging it? I hate to say it, but I'm really not a fan. At all.

Take a closer look -- couldn't this be a wig? It certainly wouldn't be the first time a celeb donned fake hair in an effort to nab a little extra attention. There's a chance that Hayden's style could magically go back to normal the next time we see her.

But if this really is a permanent change, it's kind of a shame. The heavy bangs make her look a few years older, and her hair is so straight, it really takes away from the natural beauty vibe she usually has going on. And one more thing about the bangs -- they hide her gorgeous face! Hayden's skin is flawless, and it just seems like a waste to cover up her perfect complexion.

Hopefully this major shift is only temporary, and the old Hayden will be back to showing off her beautiful self in no time. But if her new hair does turn out to be the real deal, those bangs are going to be a serious bitch to grow out. Just sayin'.

'50 Shades of Grey' Casting Is Almost Finished: Could These Stars Be Our Christian and Ana? (PHOTOS)

If you were to tweet at E.L. James today asking about Fifty Shades of Grey movie casting news, you'd probably still receive a snarky response about how they're still far off from making any sort of "final decision." And I'm sure that is probably still true. However, the latest buzz from a believable source leads us to believe that they're VERY close. So close in fact that we may have our Christian and Ana soon after Labor Day!

According to entertainment biz site TheWrap.com, casting is expected to wrap up within the next month, because filming needs to begin this fall. That's BIG -- huge! That means we're so close! And while they note that numerous people for both lead roles are under consideration, two names are floating around as very likely contenders: Dakota Johnson as Ana and Charlie Hunnam as Christian.   

You may remember Dakota as the cute co-ed who wakes up next to Justin Timberlake's Sean Parker in The Social Network. She also starred in the 21 Jump Street flick, The Five-Year Engagement, and the short-lived sitcom Ben and Kate. You may also know her as Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson's daughter!

As for Charlie ... well, he seems to have come out of the blue! The British actor starred as Jackson Teller in the FX series Sons of Anarchy and as Raleigh Becket in the film Pacific Rim. He's very Brad Pitt/Chris Hemsworth-ish. See?

Very BLONDE ... As is Dakota, usually, which isn't going to fly at least in the case of Ana, who is definitely brunette. But she's clearly dyed her hair for roles before (see above), and I'm sure Charlie would too.

Looks aside, I'm not sure if I see these two as our Ana and Christian ... But it's also hard to say, because they're both relatively "new," fresh, which is exactly what the casting directors want, it seems. In fact, TheWrap.com notes that Dakota fits the description the Fifty Shades folks have been looking for: 23, not quite a movie star (yet), acting credibility, and a rising feature career. But surely, she's not the only one up for the part and for whom those attributes apply. Still, it sounds like we won't have to wonder for much longer who will ultimately land the roles!

Usher's Son Almost Drowns in Accident That Could've Happened to Any Parent

It's so many parents' biggest summer nightmare: Your child is being watched by someone else, playing in a pool, something unexpected happens, and they end up in the hospital. For Usher, this became a reality yesterday. Usher's son, Usher Raymond V, is currently at an Atlanta hospital in the ICU after a very serious, scary incident in the pool Monday.

According to TMZ, Usher Raymond V was enjoying some pool time with his aunt when he saw a toy in the drain, dove down to try to snag it, and got stuck. Both his aunt and the maid tried to rescue him but were unsuccessful. Luckily, two men working inside the house heard their screams and were able to jump in and free the 5-year-old. After he was given CPR, the poor little boy was rushed to the hospital with his dad (who arrived soon after the incident) by his side.

Thankfully, doctors say that Usher Raymond V is going to be just fine. I can only imagine how his father's feeling right about now.

Hands down, this is something that can happen in any family. While summer is about having fun, splashing around, and enjoying time with loved ones -- it's important to be safe and aware. Plain and simple: There's no such thing as being too careful. Especially when it comes to swimming, too. Usher Raymond V is very lucky his aunt was paying close attention.

With all this said, it's important that Usher doesn't get too down on himself about the whole thing. What's done is done. It's no one's fault. It was 100 percent an accident, and his son is going to be just fine. All they can do now as a family is make sure to open up a constructive dialogue. Talk about pool safety. Talk about other potential dangerous situations. As a father, it's Usher's responsibility to educate his kiddos of the dos and don'ts. A responsibility I'm sure he hasn't taken lightly in the past and most definitely won't in the future.

5 Outrageous Ice Cream Truck Stories That Are Almost Too Crazy to Believe

Shh, listen a moment. Do you hear that? It's the sound of thousands and thousands of ice cream trucks delivering icy sweetness to children and grownups all over the country. Their songs may differ, but that soft-serve cone tastes exactly the same every damn time, doesn't it?

Summertime, and ice cream truck season well underway. But that truck o' fun isn't always so innocent, not to everyone. Sometimes the Good Humor man delivers a serving of overheated insanity. Here's a few of our favorite crazy ice cream truck news stories. What is it, people -- the heat, or the sugar?

No more ice cream truck tunes: Can you believe the Long Beach, California city council wants to ban ice cream truck music? How are you supposed to know it's around if you're indoors, where the air conditioning is, without that music? What a bunch of cranks.

Ban the ice cream carts, too: Last summer one New York mom's demand to ban ice cream carts from playgrounds went viral. So you see, there are icy Grinches on both sides of the coast. WTF, people? Would these people be nicer if someone just bought them a popsicle?

Ice cream wars: Another golden oldie from last year -- remember when two rival ice cream trucks fought it out on the street? Well, their drivers fought it out, but the trucks suffered all the damage. You guys, you're supposed to deliver joy, not strife.

Ice cream bait-and-switch: One prankster outfitted an ice cream truck with healthy food. Actually, that would have made me happy because I prefer cucumbers to soft-serve, but I'm a weirdo. Ooh, I bet the mom who wants to ban ice cream carts would have loved the truck, too. But most people tricked by the veggie truck were understandably pissed.

Ice Cream Truck-Jacking: An ice cream truck was carjacked in Washington, D.C. The mugger threatened the two people inside with a handgun and ran off with money and cellphones. It was 10:30 at night, so at least this didn't happen in broad daylight when there would have been more kids around. But this guy definitely wins for the biggest ice cream truck spoiler of them all.

Keep cool out there, everyone. I know it's hot out there. But remember, it's just ice cream.
