Mom Attacked With Baby in Stroller Fights Back with Unexpected Weapon (VIDEO)

One of the most terrifying things in the world must be getting attacked by a random stranger who tries to rape you. Now quadruple your terror if your young child is with you at the time, in his stroller, and the attacker has just knocked the child over, who screams while you try to figure out what to do about the crazed attacker. This is the exact nightmarish scenario that MaryJane Jarman and her son, 8-month-old Thayne, were facing when the mom had just dropped off her 5-year-old at school and was jogging with Thayne in his stroller along a bucolic park in Upper Manhattan. But the attacker didn't quite understand that if you attack a mom with her kid -- you are going to get the fight of your life. And this one did.

It all started when Jarman was jogging with Thayne along the Hudson River early in the morning. She suddenly heard someone calling "Come here, come here," and saw a stranger crawl out of a nearby bush. He was holding a broken bottle and rushed at her.

Jarman says she began screaming and yelling, hoping someone would hear her, as the man grabbed her in a bear hug and tried to pull her behind a large wall. Police believe he meant to rape her.

Unbelievably, the man kept apologizing as he attacked her, saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sick."

But that wasn't going to earn any sympathy points with Jardan, who realized that her son's stroller had been knocked over in their struggle, and he was laying on the ground screaming. She told the New York Daily News:

My son was hysterical. He was screaming and crying.

At this point, Jardan knew she was in a fight for her -- and possibly her son's -- life. She says:

I wasn’t going to go down that way. I was going to kill him to protect my son.

Jardan grabbed her small but hard metal bicycle pump. She knew just what to do with it, hitting his head "over and over" until he was bleeding and had some "nasty gashes." Outdone and bleeding profusely, the psycho finally ran off.Cops were impressed. "She squared off with him. She stood her ground," a police source told the Daily News.Jardan and her son are unhurt, thank goodness. This could have ended up tragically -- and no doubt Jardan will have some emotional scars -- but this fierce mom wasn't going to let this asswipe get the best of her. Her son will be proud.Hopefully this guy will be caught soon -- he's got gashes on his face, so he will be seen and recognized. Any scumbag who wants to rape a woman in front of her child needs to be taken off the streets.

Okay, guys, I don't want to jinx anything here, but I think ... I think ... Lindsay Lohan just might be getting her mojo back. For realz this time! The formerly troubled starlet (yeah, that's right, I said "formerly"! Cause let's try some positive thinking for a change!) made an appearance on Jimmy Fallon last night as a guest on the Wayne's World-esque tween girl talk show "Ew!" and guess what? She was really, really funny. Really! I mean, remember last year when she hosted SNL and it was supposed to be a big "comeback" type thing and it was more of a "come again?!" kind of thing? Well, all of that weirdly nervous, unfocused, I'm all messed up and I don't know why/feeling kinda freaky and that's no lie energy was gone last night, and in its place was vintage LiLo. 

Hmm, could this be a good omen for our favorite morgue janitor?

HELL to the YES, I say!! Let's think about this for a minute: See, Lindsay Lohan used to be an actress, remember?? Before she became a pro car crasher/Ambien taker/jewelry thief, girlfriend was an actress -- and a good one at that. (I hate to drag out ye ol' Mean Girls reference, but how awesome was she back then??) So now that she's back to kicking ass as a performer, she'll start remembering how great that feels (a better high than any drug ... right?? No, seriously!) and want to keep kicking ass again and again. And she must know by now that too much gypsy-punching does not a successful acting career make.

Justin Bieber's Latest Move Actually Makes Him Likable Again (VIDEO)

Have you seen the Zach Galifianakis comedy series on Funny or Die called "Between Two Ferns"? It's basically Galifianakis conducting fake interviews with celebrities during which they both sit between two potted ferns and Galifianakis asks a bunch of strange and inappropriate questions. The resulting videos are always weird and awkward and deeply hilarious, and I've enjoyed every single one I've ever watched -- but none quite so much as his recent collaboration with Justin Bieber.

This particular "Between Two Ferns" episode is so great, in fact, I find myself reluctantly warming to Justin Bieber despite all his bratty behavior lately. I mean, any kid who's willing to let Zach Galifianakis badger him with the exact sort of insults disguised as questions we ALL want to ask -- not to mention the fantastic moment when Galifianakis angrily removed his belt and SPANKED him -- is okay in my book.

Galifianakis comes right out swinging by telling Bieber why he's thrilled to have him on the show:

It’s really exciting to talk to you, especially right in the middle of your public meltdown.

He goes on to say he's not sure how to talk to kids ("I've just never interviewed a 7-year-old before"), before asking him his first insightful question:

What was the last toy you got in a Happy Meal?

I have to say, Bieber does a great job of playing straight man. Check it out:

Military Dad Brings Son to Tears With Surprise Return at Football Game (VIDEO)

It's easy for teens to take their parents for granted. We are always hovering, asking questions, getting into their business. We never actually give them the opportunity to truly miss us. That's clearly not the case for all those teens with parents in the military. That separation can be agonizing, but it also makes the reunions that much sweeter. Among the most astonishing examples I've ever seen is the surprise return of Master Sergeant Joseph Martel at his son's football game.

With his dad disguised in a football uniform and helmet, the teen had no idea he had returned early from deployment. The reaction is priceless. Get the tissues ready!

No matter their age, this is a reminder just how much our kids need us. There is nothing like that bond. It’s really heartwarming seeing this big, brawny, tough football player break down in complete joy at seeing his dad. Such a special moment -- not just for them but everyone who witnessed it.

A veces he leído historias de adolescente "sexting" y beber y me preocupo por nuestro futuro. Y luego leí historias como ésta y sólo tengo que creer... los chicos están muy bien. Estudiantes en Waverly-Shell Rock Senior High School en Waverly, Ohio eligieron a una muchacha con parálisis cerebral como su reina. Courtney Tharp sorprendió, luego me alegra ser coronado por sus compañeros. "Ella estaba muy emocionada," dice Subdirector Jeremy Langner. Apparently this was the highlight of this week's Clinton Global Initiative conference: Bono did a spot-on imitation of former President Bill Clinton. Without even removing his sunglasses, Bono dropped his brogue and pulled out a raspy Southern drawl that sounded exactly like the silver fox. Naturally, he told the story of the first time the two men met each other. It's not just the accent and the crackly voice, he gets Bill's folksy phrasing and hand gestures. I swear, if you were only listening and not watching, you would think it was Bill. Nailed it, Bono! There's just one thing he missed ...

Bono forgot the classic Clinton lower lip bite. No Bill Clinton impersonation is complete without that pause, self-deprecating/congratulatory grin, and lip bite. He does that just so you can swoon over his sincerity. It's a courtesy Clinton extends to his fans. Maybe Bono doesn't have the out-sized ego to pull that one off.

Anyway, yes, Bill, you are really easy to make fun of. In fact, I can do a pretty good imitation myself (lip bite). Let's see if we can get a quick video here from the CafeMom Studios team of me doing a Clinton impersonation ... Oh, no, they're telling me they're too busy making videos people actually want to see. Okay, never mind then.

Let's watch this instead: Bill Clinton imitating Bono.

He tries, but Bill is so deeply himself, he can't quite pull it off. Nice touch with the sunglasses, though. I've actually been in the same room as Bill Clinton, and he does have a huge, magnetic presence. No wonder the guy became president. Like him or not, he's an original.

Un reporterode trabajo nunca es fácil. Tienen que levantarse temprano para perseguir grandes pistas. Tienen que trabajar bajo los plazos y experimentar una enorme cantidad de presión. A veces tienen que entrevistar a temas difíciles. Esta última parte es algo reportera Sabrina Rodriguez sabe todo muy bien.

Asignado a "entrevistar" a un babuino como parte del Festival de la uva de Lodi, Rodríguez creía que estuvo solo en su reportaje promedio. No tenía idea que en un menos de un minuto, la entrevista tomaría un giro a la izquierda hilarantemente que rápidamente irían viral. Tal vez ya vi el video 80 veces.

Empezó inocentemente lo suficiente. El babuino suave llamado Mickey saludó a Rodriguez con un batido de afable y humano-como de la mano. Contenta como sacador, Rodríguez dio la espalda el babuino, sólo para él demostrar algunos muy malos modales.

El lleno-en tipo bocina pecho mientras sonriendo apagado en la distancia! Era totalmente extraño. Si hubiera sido un chico en un bar o un entrevistado humano, usted puede apostar que su sass le habría valido una bofetada. Pero Rodríguez fue un campeón que terminaron su segmento con que poca incomodidad como pudo. Absolutamente hilarante.

Disgusting New Drug Turns You Into a Real Life Zombie (VIDEO)

There are drugs and then there are DRUGS. Sure, all drugs can have consequences, but there aren't any "Faces of Pot" or "Faces of Xanax" campaigns. There are, however, "Faces of Meth" service ads that will give you the chills. And now there might be a drug scarier than meth, one that makes you look even worse, if possible. That's because this drug, called Krokodil, which has reportedly just hit our shores from Russia, is one of the deadliest, most evil drugs out there. Which of course means it will be wildly popular. So hopefully people even thinking about trying it will take a look at what can happen if you do.

Krokodil (pronounced like crocodile) is a combination of codeine, gasoline, paint thinner, hydrochloric acid, iodine, and red phosphorous. Which sounds like something you would absolutely go out of your way to never EVER ingest, but is apparently something people are ingesting on purpose because, let's face it, human beings are totally messed up.

The drug is so lethal that it kills most regular users within ONE year of their using. And if it's not killing you, then it's eating your flesh. Take a look:

The drug, which was recently found in Arizona, actually eats away your flesh and bone. Said a doctor at a poison control center:

As far as I know, these are the first cases in the United States that are reported. So we're extremely frightened.

Maybe teens and others who just aren't very knowledgeable have no idea that the drug can do this much damage. I certainly hope that everyone who is even thinking about this drug educates themselves and then thinks twice! No, thinks like 1,000 times!

Surely no high could be worth this come down.

358 People Set Twerking World Record and We Were There (VIDEO)

By now, we've all surely heard about twerking. We've seen Miley Cyrus twerk. We've seen pregnant women twerk. And oh man did we drool over the Navy sailor twerking. Well yesterday 358 people gathered together in New York City's Herald Square along with FUSE and New Orleans musician Big Freedia to set the Guinness World Record for Most People Twerking Simultaneously. Seriously.

In order to set it, the Guinness official revealed that a minimum of 250 twerkers needed to be present, and they had to booty bounce for a full two minutes straight. The good news? They set the record! The better news? We were there with a camera.

Papá quien interrogó 'Núcleo común' estándares de educación es arrastrado por la policía (VIDEO)

Como si el debate sobre el currículo Básico común no calienta lo suficiente, ahora tenemos video de un padre siendo maltratado por la policía para cuestionar la eficacia de los estándares educativos utilizados ahora por 45 Estados.

El jueves pasado, Robert pequeña asistió a una reunión estilo Ayuntamiento llevó a cabo por el Departamento de educación del estado de Maryland. Los asistentes fueron invitados a enviar sus preguntas por escrito, pero este padre al parecer decidió ir del guión cuando preguntó, "¿Cómo se preparan el descenso estándares educativos niños para... Universidad, porque eso es lo que se trata todo?"

Inmediatamente fue cerrado y retirado de la sala por un agente de policía fuera de servicio actuando como seguridad. Después de ser forzosamente droga desde la habitación, fue acusado de operaciones escuela inquietante y asalto en segundo grado.  El informe policial dice que pequeño había intentado empujar a lejos el oficial.

Supongo que el oficial no sabía que estaba siendo grabado, porque el único ser asaltado en la cinta es pequeño, por la policía. Incluso puedes oír los gritos de la multitud como pequeñas se agarró del brazo y lanzada fuera del micrófono durante la sesión de Q&A.

Las cosas comienzan a salir peligroso alrededor de la 1:15 Marque:

Después de ser forzosamente arrancó por la policía, el padre de 46 años de edad se puede escuchar la pregunta que estoy seguro que muchos de nosotros estaban preguntando como vimos, "¿es esto América?"

Este tipo no representa una amenaza para nadie. Parece que es sólo otro padre frustrado que quiere respuestas sobre qué se está haciendo para arreglar nuestro sistema educativo falla. ¿Sabes qué policía intimidación hace? Se apaga el debate y el diálogo público. ¿Sabes que odiaba el diálogo público y el debate? Stalin. Solo.

Seriamente, la gente debería ser libre para cuestionar al gobierno, especialmente cuando se trata de la salud, seguridad y Educación de nuestros hijos.

'Glee' Star Amber Riley Gives the Skinny on Her 'DWTS’ Workouts -- INTENSE! (VIDEO)

Whether or not you've been watching season 17 of Dancing With the Stars, you've surely heard the buzz over contestant Amber Riley and her crazy awesome moves. The Glee star has been tearing it up on the dance floor with her partner Derek Hough and kicking some serious competition booty. The DWTS front runner caught up with People after her performance Monday night and told them that all the effort is really paying off. "[This has] really taught me that I can do more than I thought I could."

That statement gives me chills. I mean, Amber has been working her butt off to learn the dances and give her best performance. Just like any fitness goal, whether it be to lose 15 pounds or complete a local 5K or race, there's no greater feeling than seeing your hard work pay off. I think it's safe to say that many many of us can relate to that overwhelming feeling of accomplishment.

As someone who has been training for a marathon for the last few months, I can most definitely relate. I NEVER thought that I would be undertaking such a lofty goal, especially as someone who used to tip the scales at over 200 pounds. But that all makes every run even more special and meaningful. I know that when I cross the finish line, this will forever be an accomplishment that I worked hard to achieve, one that I NEVER thought I'd do. That makes it all the better. 

On a national stage, Amber's an inspiration to many people that if you set your mind to something, you can do it. It can't be easy learning all of these dances, getting out on that stage week after week and not missing a beat. I'm just waiting to see if she becomes one of those stars who sheds a ton of pounds in her effort to win the mirror ball trophy. Either way, Amber is lookin' fine out there!

School Superintendent’s ‘Racist and Sexist’ Text Messages Make Us Wonder What’s Wrong With People (VIDEO)

If everyone in your community could read your text messages, would they be horrified? The racist and sexist messages between school superintendent Richard Como and athletic director Jim Donato have rocked the community of Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Apparently the texts between these two men included graphic references to faculty and students. Just a few harmless, private jokes between two men? Not so much.

Copies of the messages between Como and Donato were given to the school board from an anonymous source. The Chester County District Attorney office discovered the messages when they were conducting an unrelated investigation of the district. Meanwhile, Como and Donato both resigned reportedly when they found out the board planned to fire them -- but the damage is already done.

So how bad were these text messages, anyway? Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan says, "The text messages that we reviewed were of a shockingly racist nature. They looked like something from 1813, not 2013." Oof, that bad, huh? I'm glad I haven't found transcripts of those messages yet, though I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they're leaked. (Maybe it's already happened and I just don't know because I don't want to know ...)

Board President Neil Campbell issued a statement saying that the school board had moved as quickly as possible on the incident and were cooperating with the District Attorney. "The racist and sexist language expressed by the two men was sickening and obviously unacceptable," he said.

So now we're all in agreement that this was disgusting behavior, especially coming from adults who are supposedly leading school faculty and students. Wouldn't you expect more from them? This must come as a horrible shock to the families in the community. Or maybe not. About a third of the school community is black, and I bet they're unfortunately all too accustomed to racism coming from any and all sources.

Meanwhile, I can't help imagining (if these allegations are true) what this meeting of the minds between Como and Donato must have been like. At what point did they recognize they were racist, sexist kindred spirits and start letting the shit fly with each other? Do these people have radar for their type? Ugh, probably. At least everyone else seems to agree that their exchanges were wrong. Now everyone who works for the district has to do sensitivity training. But the two people who needed it most should have gotten that training a long time ago.

Having been on any Reality TV, let alone the Real Housewives specifically, I'm always looking at these shows with double vision. I'm seeing the action just as all the viewers do, and also looking behind the scenes at how everything is put together, which always fascinates me.

This week we go deep into wedding planning with Joanna Krupa and Adriana de Moura, lots of gorgeous Birkin bags, kittens, and puppies. And did you HEAR the gossip? Someone revealed a Housewives contract! Are they for real?

I had to laugh when Lisa Hochstein cried over a Birkin bag. I don't know anyone, ever in my life, who has done that. And I know a lot of characters.

As the bridal party casting heats up, I go into reality TV weddings versus real weddings…should you have to choose cast members as bridesmaids and if you do, are you allowed to give them ultimatums? Perhaps Joanna is secretly the Gawker Bridezilla? 

Alexia Echevarria and her son are breaking my heart – what do you do when your son’s father is an ex-convict?? In this week’s video we learn what to do, and what NOT to do when you and your child have problems surrounding your divorce.

Finally….did you see that story where the reporter supposedly got hold of a New Jersey Housewives contract?  I saw it, I read it, and I give you MY take on it.

Little Girl and Dad Sing a Duet to Keep the Scary Stuff Away (VIDEO)

You guys, prepare to die of cute. Prepare for your inevitable demise at the hands of an adorable little girl and her pink toy guitar-playing dad as they sing "Tonight You Belong to Me." Dad Benjamin Ames wanted to distract his daughter, who couldn't fall asleep because she thought she was hearing fireworks. Was she? Well ... I don't hear any. But she interrupts the song several times to tell her dad exactly how they should pause whenever they hear fireworks.

If you've ever tried to do something with a little interrupter, you'll relate. It's exasperating! But Ames shows a lot of patience with his daughter. Just so you know, they do finally get through the whole song. If daddy-daughter harmonies make you melt, you'll want to hang in there past the one-minute mark. I think it's worth it. But of course, the interruptions are funny, too.

I love how she knows all the words! I feel like every child needs at least one classic they can sing all the way through (or almost) with their parents. Every kid needs a song that comforts them at night when there are so many strange sounds.

It's kind of a long video (sad that 3:12 minutes is considered long ...), but if you have the time, they get to the horn section around the two-minute mark. It just ratchets up the charming hilarity even more. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to watch this video yet again and dissolve into a puddle of estrogen and sentimentality under my desk here.

Disclaimer: I feel incredibly guilty about what I'm about to write. That said, I'm going to write about it anyway, because I'm in the business of writing about things. Tina Fey suffered a nip slip at the Emmys on Sunday. Okay, I feel like I need to shower now. It feels really dirty to reduce an amazingly funny and smart woman who's done unbelievable things to a wardrobe malfunction.

The slip happened when she was on stage, accepting her award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series with fellow writer Tracey Wigfield, and truth be told, I personally didn't see it when I was watching the show live. It apparently takes a very astute eye, trained in the art of nip slips, to spot Tina's dress snafu, and it wasn't until I hopped onto the ever-kind Internet that I heard/saw what happened.

Basically, what happened is when Tina sort of shrugged her shoulders upward, one of her breasts peeked up out of the (stunning) cobalt blue Narciso Rodriguez halter gown she was wearing. And then a few people were like, "Oh my gah, you guys! A boob! Can you believe it?! Tina Fey has boobs!!!" The end.

I'd say this registers in at about a 3 on the wardrobe malfunction scale. It's barely noticeable unless you're really looking for it. And, also, we know Tina isn't the kind of gal to have an intentional W.M. on national television for publicity's sake. She's far too amazingly funny and smart for that. Heart you, Tina.

Military Mom Almost Ruins Plans for Surprise Reunion With Daughter and We Totally Get It (VIDEO)

I love a good military homecoming video. Who doesn't (no, really, who?)? But I've always wondered how it is that these moms and dads manage to keep themselves from blowing the surprise. If it were me just home from war, I don't know that I could contain myself. That's what I really love about the latest military mom surprising her kid at a football game.

Capt. JR Lund came home early from Afghanistan. She didn't tell her 13-year-old daughter ... so she could manage to surprise her at Saturday's Wisconsin vs. Purdue game. But from the looks of it, Mom almost didn't make it to the game!

Aww! Did you catch the part about how Mom just wanted to go run over and grab her daughter ... but she was trying her darndest to rein it in so she could make the surprise even more meaningful? She almost ruined her own surprise! Maybe it's because she's an Army Reservist that JR Lund is so much stronger than the rest of us?

Or at least stronger than me?

I don't know that I could do it. If I'm away from my kid just for a few days for a business trip, I come home and it's all I can do not to smother the poor thing with love and attention!

Not that JR Lund's daughter isn't getting plenty of that -- did you see the look on mother's and daughter's faces when they finally DID see each other?

Would you be able to hold out to surprise your kid or would you ruin your own surprise?

'White Widow' sospechada en masacre de Kenia Mall: lo que sabemos acerca de este misteriosa madre de 4 (VIDEO)

Ahora puede haber oído de la "viuda de blanco," un fugitivo británico y madre de cuatro de los que se sospecha como uno de los cerebros detrás de la terrible masacre de Westgate Mall en Nairobi. Al menos 39 personas han muerto y más de 300 heridos. Mientras que la mujer de 29 años de edad, cuyo nombre es Samantha Lewthwaite, es bien conocida en Gran Bretaña, esta es la primera vez que la mayoría de los estadounidenses han escuchado nada acerca de ella.

"Es tu culpa" violación Video utiliza el Humor para abordar tema serio (VIDEO)

Normalmente, la violación es cosa de risa. Pero si están tratando de hacer una declaración fuerte que personas se han negado a escuchar acerca de los hombres de manera injusta tratan a las mujeres, y la única manera de hacerlo es por contar chistes... bueno entonces, traer en los pollos de goma.

Eso fue el brillante pensamiento detrás el viral video, "es tu culpa," creada por un equipo de comedia indio llamado todos Bakchod de la India, o AIB. En el video de tres minutos, dos actrices de Bollywood pongan sus caras deadpan mejores y realizan un infomercial simulacro en los que recuerdan a las mujeres que todo lo hacen--de llevar faldas cortas a velocidad de astronauta para tener la audacia de trabajar y regresar a casa tarde de la oficina, son razones hombres no pueden ayudarse a sí mismos y a violación a mantener la cordura.

El video aborda varias nociones populares y gravemente equivocadas prevalentes en la cultura de la violación de la India, de la idea de que "si es tu marido no es violación" a las pretensiones raras que Bollywood películas, el uso excesivo de los teléfonos celulares y ni siquiera el consumo de Chow Mein pueden incitar a los hombres a las mujeres de la violación. Y no rehúyen hurgando diversión en cumplimiento de la ley, tampoco, asesoramiento de las mujeres que fueron violadas a solicitar la asistencia de la policía muy útil, que tiende a hacer valiosas preguntas como "¿por qué fuiste con chicos en la noche?"

"Es tu culpa" es claramente una respuesta a los escandalosos casos de violación que se han producido en la India durante los últimos años, así como el tratamiento negativo de las mujeres que son violadas y tienen poco o ningún poder sobre su situación y cómo es manejado por las fuerzas del orden. Pero esta fantástica parodia video habla a las mujeres por todo el mundo, ya que para muchos de nosotros, sin importar dónde vivimos--aún lidiar con la patriarcal actitud que nosotros somos responsables de cómo nos tratan los hombres. Eso si usamos una falda que sólo está un poco apretada, o si los pechos son sólo ligeramente más grandes que el promedio, nos merecemos ser tratados como objetos sexuales, porque los hombres no pueden ayudarse a sí mismos.

Estoy agradecido por esta divertida y sugerente video y espero que inspire a las mujeres que se ven como víctimas y no responsables de delitos sexuales.
