tina feyDisclaimer: I feel incredibly guilty about what I'm about to write. That said, I'm going to write about it anyway, because I'm in the business of writing about things. Tina Fey suffered a nip slip at the Emmys on Sunday. Okay, I feel like I need to shower now. It feels really dirty to reduce an amazingly funny and smart woman who's done unbelievable things to a wardrobe malfunction.

The slip happened when she was on stage, accepting her award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series with fellow writer Tracey Wigfield, and truth be told, I personally didn't see it when I was watching the show live. It apparently takes a very astute eye, trained in the art of nip slips, to spot Tina's dress snafu, and it wasn't until I hopped onto the ever-kind Internet that I heard/saw what happened.

Basically, what happened is when Tina sort of shrugged her shoulders upward, one of her breasts peeked up out of the (stunning) cobalt blue Narciso Rodriguez halter gown she was wearing. And then a few people were like, "Oh my gah, you guys! A boob! Can you believe it?! Tina Fey has boobs!!!" The end.

I'd say this registers in at about a 3 on the wardrobe malfunction scale. It's barely noticeable unless you're really looking for it. And, also, we know Tina isn't the kind of gal to have an intentional W.M. on national television for publicity's sake. She's far too amazingly funny and smart for that. Heart you, Tina.

Here's a video that breaks down Tina's nip slip in disturbingly painstaking detail:

Did you notice Tina's wardrobe malfunction the first time 'round?

Will Ferrell Drags His Kids to the Emmys Because He Can’t Find a Sitter (VIDEO)

will ferrell emmy awardsPoor Will Ferrell. Called into work at the last minute, couldn't find a sitter, and ended up having to bring his kids with him. All three of the Ferrell boys! We've all been there, right? Oh -- except in this case, "work" was presenting at the Emmy Awards. Did you catch it? Will Ferrell dragged his three boys onstage, all of them (including Will) in sloppy t-shirts and shorts. "I couldn't find child care, okay?" Farrell said defensively.

For parents it was probably the most painfully funny moment of the Emmys -- though obviously it was just an act. I mean, who hasn't scrambled at the last minute for childcare, given up, and ended up dragging their kids with them to work? It happens!

In fact, there was a handful of kids here at the CafeMom office one day just before school started. There's this awful gap of time where most of the day camps are over, but classes haven't begun yet. And if you're not already hooked up with a daycare center or a babysitter, you're just kind of screwed. You're either working from home in the Kid Zone (and feeling oh-so-productive) or you've got a kid or two hanging out in the lobby, playing Angry Birds.

Will Ferrell doesn't have that option, though -- he can't exactly let his kids play Angry Birds while they're still on stage. They have to wait. I loved his whole spiel on what their day was like. "We had a soccer game, there was a neighbor's birthday party, a nut allergy. I didn't have time to do my hair! It doesn't matter, it's great to be here." Sounds like a typical Sunday to me. Especially the part about not having time to do his hair.

Don't you love how there's no mention of his wife? Apparently whatever she's doing, it's more important than presenting at the Emmys. I think that was my favorite part.

No, this was my favorite part: "You have to go to the bathroom?! I asked you backstage if you had to go to the bathroom. So you're just going to have to hold it. This is the Emmys. Don't blow this for me!" Of course someone has to go to the bathroom. With three kids, isn't it a given that at least one of them has to pee at any moment?

Oh Will! Bwahaha, ouch. Thank you for illustrating the bind we all face: You're either a crappy parent or a crappy employee, sometimes both at the same time. At least, it feel like that sometimes. Glad we could all have a healing laugh over it.

Have you ever had to bring your kids with you to work at the last minute?

Cory Monteith's Emmys Honor Isn't Appreciated by Everyone

Cory MonteithCory Monteith will be honored at tonight's Emmy Awards, and while you would think this would be a given and all-around thumbs up decision, apparently it is causing some controversy. The in memoriam honors will include not only Cory but James Gandolfini, Jonathan Winters, Family Ties creator Gary David Goldberg, and Jean Stapleton. Unfortunately this left out TV legend Jack Klugman, famous for The Odd Couple and Quincy. And Jack's son, Adam, is furious about it, telling the Hollywood Reporter: "I think it's criminal."

Adam feels like the Emmys are dissing his father solely to try and spike ratings. He said:

I don't mean to say anything disparaging about Cory, but he was a kid who had won no Emmys and it was a self-induced tragedy.

I agree that between Cory and Jack, Jack should be honored. I have no idea why they can't just honor the both of them. Take out some stupid joke routine. Jack should definitely be remembered at the ceremony.

However, Cory shouldn't necessarily be cut out. The reality is that the Emmys won't exist if people don't watch it, and if producers think that his honor will draw a younger crowd who will keep ratings up, then that is just the reality of the business. No one ever said show business was easy, fair, or soft-hearted.

Emmys spokesperson Ken Ehrlich defended Cory, saying:

No matter what we do, there will be people who feel we had other options and could have done other things.

As TMZ points out, Larry Hagman, star of Dallas, is also being overlooked.

Perhaps so, but Jack Klugman, a TV legend, does seem like a huge oversight. It's too bad they couldn't have found something else to cut. At the end of the day, I think Larry and Jack would have understood the need for ratings better than anyone. And Adam should take comfort in the fact that Jack will be remembered for a very long time, by many people.

Do you think Cory deserves to be honored over Jack?
