pregnant bellyThere are so many things that can go wrong when in labor and Jessica Stanley, a Florida mom pregnant with twins, experienced one of the most terrifying incidents when it was go-time. The car she was driving in crashed into another car while she was in labor. Jessica's fiance, Antavian Milton, was driving her and their three other children to the hospital because Jessica's water broke. Another car pulled out in front of them and Jessica remembers hitting her head on the windshield and then she blacked out.

Within seconds Betty Horne, a gastroenterology tech at Baptist Hospital, who was in the car behind them, ran to help. Horne had no idea what would happen next would change her life forever.

The panicked dad Milton jumped out the car when Horne approached yelling, "I'm gonna have a baby, she's gonna have twins." Horne reportedly looked in the car and she saw one baby already crowning. She grabbed a towel from her car and caught the baby as he was being born. He wasn't breathing. She swiped the back of the baby's mouth with her fingers to clear the airway and baby started crying. And what a beautiful sound that must have been amidst all the chaos.

New mom Jessica was alert and Horne passed her the baby boy. They named him Antavian II and he weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces, which is very impressive for a twin. The paramedics arrived and took Jessica to the hospital to deliver baby number 2 by cesarean. That little bundle weighed 7 pounds and 7 ounces and was given the name Antavian III! How very, very sweet -- both named after proud papa. I wonder what their nicknames are going to be!

Horne calls the experience "amazing" and was welcomed just like family there in the recovery room cradling the baby she helped deliver. "I don't even know what a hero is," she said when someone told her that she was one. "I tell you, I don't feel like a hero. I feel that that's something that we all got to do for each other. We all got to help each other."

The family honored Horne for being an amazing human being by asking her to be Antavian II's Godmother. What a beautiful gesture for a beautiful woman who sprang into action to help strangers, and whose actions helped bring a baby's life into this world -- a baby who is healthy and doing fantastic along with twin brother and mom.

Congrats to all!

Do you think you would know what to do if you witnessed a woman in labor? Have you feared being in a bad situation when ready to give birth?

jenelle evansAre you sitting down? If so, please stand. You're going to want to be up for this. Jenelle Evans broke her thumb in her sleep the other night, you guys. As the story goes, per her lovah, Nathan Griffith, Jenelle was deep in a peaceful slumber a few nights ago when she rolled over and fell off the bed, breaking her most important finger: Her thumb. And the weirdest part about this whole weird story? Jenelle has no recollection of the incident whatsoever.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ...

Jenelle initially fired off the tweet: "Woke up with a broken thumb", and when inquiring fans demanded to know how ("What'd you do? Sleep on it wrong?! Lol" one person asked), Jenelle simply responded with: "Nathan said I fell off the bed earlier lol I don't remember."

Now. I'm not one to make assumptions, buuuuut, when one is completely and totally sober -- nary a cocktail in their system -- how do they sleep through falling off of their bed and breaking a bone in their body? I know some people are deep sleepers, and I'm not saying Jenelle was under the influence of any kind. Buuuuut. This is a pretty impressive thing to sleep through. I've heard of people sleeping through alarms, phones, even their baby crying. But falling to the floor and smashing a finger to smithereens is a new one.

Glad everything is fine with Jenelle, and she's still able to LOL it up. But perhaps Nathan ought to install one of those toddler railings so Jenelle doesn't fall off the bed again. It was just a thumb this time, but who knows what could be next?

Have you ever fallen off your bed and broken your thumb and slept through it?

Usher and Usher Raymond VIt's so many parents' biggest summer nightmare: Your child is being watched by someone else, playing in a pool, something unexpected happens, and they end up in the hospital. For Usher, this became a reality yesterday. Usher's son, Usher Raymond V, is currently at an Atlanta hospital in the ICU after a very serious, scary incident in the pool Monday.

According to TMZ, Usher Raymond V was enjoying some pool time with his aunt when he saw a toy in the drain, dove down to try to snag it, and got stuck. Both his aunt and the maid tried to rescue him but were unsuccessful. Luckily, two men working inside the house heard their screams and were able to jump in and free the 5-year-old. After he was given CPR, the poor little boy was rushed to the hospital with his dad (who arrived soon after the incident) by his side.

Thankfully, doctors say that Usher Raymond V is going to be just fine. I can only imagine how his father's feeling right about now.

Hands down, this is something that can happen in any family. While summer is about having fun, splashing around, and enjoying time with loved ones -- it's important to be safe and aware. Plain and simple: There's no such thing as being too careful. Especially when it comes to swimming, too. Usher Raymond V is very lucky his aunt was paying close attention.

With all this said, it's important that Usher doesn't get too down on himself about the whole thing. What's done is done. It's no one's fault. It was 100 percent an accident, and his son is going to be just fine. All they can do now as a family is make sure to open up a constructive dialogue. Talk about pool safety. Talk about other potential dangerous situations. As a father, it's Usher's responsibility to educate his kiddos of the dos and don'ts. A responsibility I'm sure he hasn't taken lightly in the past and most definitely won't in the future.

Are you happy to hear Usher's son's going to be just fine? Have you or anyone you know ever dealt with a similar situation?

Woman Wins Lottery Twice in One Day by Complete Accident

luckFor the few of you who still believe that the world is a fair and decent place, I would like to present to you the woman who won the lottery -- twice -- in one day. By accident. She didn't mean to win $900,000, it just happened. It was like getting a flat, or stepping in gum. Only awesomer. And now she's debt-free with lots o' money to spare.

How has your week been?

The Australian woman, who, be honest, is probably one of the luckier people you've ever read about, buys a lottery ticket every week. Even plays the same numbers. But this week in particular she happened to forget that she already bought her ticket, so she bought herself another one -- and, yep, both were winners. "Half of that $835,000 will go straight towards the mortgage," the unidentified woman in her 30s said. "I guess it's a good thing we won twice so there's some prize money left over. It will be such a relief to be debt-free."

Now, I'm happy for this woman, really, I am. What a cool, and weird, thing to happen to someone. But spread the love, Universe! Is it really necessary to have one person win twice?! I'm sure she would have been just as excited to learn she won once. And then someone else could have been excited, too. This two wins in one day business seems like a cruel joke.

But here's the thing: This would only happen to a person like this. A person who forgot that she bought a ticket in the first place. Because she let it go. She did it and forgot about it as opposed to obsessing over it and wishing and hoping and praying that she'd win.

I suppose when you think about it that way, the universe is fair and she does deserve it. Now excuse me while I go work on not giving a shit.

Have you ever won the lottery?
