Will Ferrell Drags His Kids to the Emmys Because He Can’t Find a Sitter (VIDEO)

will ferrell emmy awardsPoor Will Ferrell. Called into work at the last minute, couldn't find a sitter, and ended up having to bring his kids with him. All three of the Ferrell boys! We've all been there, right? Oh -- except in this case, "work" was presenting at the Emmy Awards. Did you catch it? Will Ferrell dragged his three boys onstage, all of them (including Will) in sloppy t-shirts and shorts. "I couldn't find child care, okay?" Farrell said defensively.

For parents it was probably the most painfully funny moment of the Emmys -- though obviously it was just an act. I mean, who hasn't scrambled at the last minute for childcare, given up, and ended up dragging their kids with them to work? It happens!

In fact, there was a handful of kids here at the CafeMom office one day just before school started. There's this awful gap of time where most of the day camps are over, but classes haven't begun yet. And if you're not already hooked up with a daycare center or a babysitter, you're just kind of screwed. You're either working from home in the Kid Zone (and feeling oh-so-productive) or you've got a kid or two hanging out in the lobby, playing Angry Birds.

Will Ferrell doesn't have that option, though -- he can't exactly let his kids play Angry Birds while they're still on stage. They have to wait. I loved his whole spiel on what their day was like. "We had a soccer game, there was a neighbor's birthday party, a nut allergy. I didn't have time to do my hair! It doesn't matter, it's great to be here." Sounds like a typical Sunday to me. Especially the part about not having time to do his hair.

Don't you love how there's no mention of his wife? Apparently whatever she's doing, it's more important than presenting at the Emmys. I think that was my favorite part.

No, this was my favorite part: "You have to go to the bathroom?! I asked you backstage if you had to go to the bathroom. So you're just going to have to hold it. This is the Emmys. Don't blow this for me!" Of course someone has to go to the bathroom. With three kids, isn't it a given that at least one of them has to pee at any moment?

Oh Will! Bwahaha, ouch. Thank you for illustrating the bind we all face: You're either a crappy parent or a crappy employee, sometimes both at the same time. At least, it feel like that sometimes. Glad we could all have a healing laugh over it.

Have you ever had to bring your kids with you to work at the last minute?

Sorority Caught Rejecting Black Pledges Solely Because of Race -- What Is This, 1950?

First a confession: everything I know about sororities I learned from movies like Legally Blonde and friends' glowing accounts of them. I went to a liberal university in the Northeast where sororities and fraternities weren't a big thing, so I was shocked to learn that in 2013, any school was still able to get away with keeping African Americans segregated from its sorority system.

According to several accounts, the University of Alabama is being slammed for doing just that. The school's newspaper, the Crimson White, published a story last week exposing the details of a extremely intelligent and qualified African-American female student who pledged several sororities in the school and was denied entry. But before you criticize the young sorority girls -- who reportedly gave the woman excellent scores during the recruitment process -- for discrimination, they aren't to blame. All of the shame for this goes to the alumnae, who tried to block the girl's entry.

The sorority members claim the woman, along with others, were not accepted solely because of their race. They even reported that alumnae threatened to pull funding from the sororities if they accepted African American members. Since financial support from alumnae is the bread and butter of sororities and fraternities, I applaud these young women for coming forward and exposing the segregated system in which they (hopefully unconsciously) took part.

So after what must have been an emergency meeting this weekend between the university president and sorority-chapter advisors, it was decided the school would join the 21st century and begin allowing African Americans into its Greek organizations.

I can't help wondering what I would do if I were the highly qualified woman who had pledged and been denied entry into these sororities based on the color of my skin. My first impulse is to say I would tell them to shove off. But wouldn't it deliver an even more powerful punch -- one directed straight at the alumnae -- if she held her head high and accepted entrance into one of the groups?

From what I hear -- and please correct me if I'm wrong -- being a part of a sorority is more than just living in big house, throwing keg parties, and getting invites to the best parties. You are forever associated with a group of women with whom you can network when looking for professional opportunities. You take part in community events and are able to assume roles of leadership within your sorority that can prove priceless on a young person's resume.

What do you think? Should African Americans accept entry into these formerly segregated sororities?

Scott Disick Replaces Toilet Paper With $100 Bills Because Apparently He Just Can't Help Himself (PHOTOS)

cash toilet paper rollDude. What the heck is up with Scott Disick posting photos of $100 bills accompanied by strange, disgusting, and completely egotistical comments?!?

No, you aren't hallucinating. That's a picture of a bunch of $100 bills on a toilet paper roll. Want to hear how Scott captioned it? "I know y'all didn't think I would actually use toilet paper!"

Yes, he said that -- for reals.

As if he actually thinks we're dumb enough to believe that he has replaced Charmin or Angel Soft or whatever with a roll of God knows how many perfectly legitimate Ben Franklins. (At least they don't appear to be counterfeit.)

Oh, and the fun didn't stop there. Nope. Here's another beauty of Scott using his endless supply of cash as a phone.

Scott Disick money

With this one, he seemed to be making fun of those less fortunate than himself by saying, "Hello, peasant's is that u? #fucku"

Way to keep it classy, Scott.

Um, who the heck does he think he is -- a freakin' king or something?

Just when I was finally starting to believe that Scott might actually be a pretty cool guy that people tend to misread based on how he's depicted on TV -- he goes and pulls a stunt like this. Now I'm convinced he is, indeed, one of the world's biggest asshats.

Either that, or he's just so damn bored and figures everyone already thinks he's a complete jerk. So he decided it couldn't hurt to go ahead and give people yet another reason to beg Kourtney Kardashian to come to her senses and run for the hills.

But if he was the least bit serious in flaunting his money and poking fun at people who aren't mooching off the Kardashians as well off financially as he is, maybe Kourt should consider kicking him to the curb and making him get a job to support himself for a change. Something tells me if reality were to hit him smack dab in the face, he'd switch to generic toilet paper in a heartbeat.

Do you think Scott was joking around or rubbing his wealth in people's faces?

Little Boy Stays Up All Night Singing Because He's 'Not Sleepy, Not Sleepy, Not Sleepy' (VIDEO)

not sleepy boyDon't it always seem to go ... you don't know what you got 'til it's gone? That's definitely the case when it comes to little kids and sleep. They get to nod off pretty much whenever they want to ... but they never want to!! Youth is so, so wasted on the young! There's nothing more frustrating for us moms than trying to convince a child to go to bed when sweet lord above, the only thing you want in life is to be able to go to bed!!!

Anyway. Point is, kids hate going to bed. Much like the little boy in this video. Of course, John Thomas has good reason for not wanting to call it a night, and do you know what that is? He is not sleepy. NOT SLEEPY AT ALL. You got that? Not. Sleepy. At. ALL!

Which is exactly what his parents found out when they did a little late-night video investigation, as you'll see here:

Whoa! Looks like John wasn't figuring on an audience. (But what does he expect, belting out a catchy tune like that?) Still, he bounced back from the initial surprise pretty quickly. Probably because, you know, HE'S NOT SLEEPY.

John Thomas is now 17, but he has a big sister, Lauren, who still gets a kick out of that video. So she posted it on Reddit and BOOM! Thing took off like a shot! Which comes as no surprise -- after all, there are precious few folks out there who can't relate to bedtime battles. Plus, this one is epically cute.

Have you ever found your kid staying up late when you thought he was asleep?

Crazy One Direction Fan Allegedly Kills Dog Because They Ignored Her

Warning: the story I'm about to share with you is highly unpleasant. On August 29, a fan using the Twitter handle @illumivato tweeted the British boy band One Direction with the threat, "FOLLOW ME OR I'LL BREAK MY DOG'S NECK." She included a photo of a tiny dog being held down on the floor, someone's hand on its neck. When she wasn't followed, another tweet was eventually sent to singer Liam Payne with the message that the dog was now dead, along with a disturbing photo of a crying girl holding the unmoving dog.

There are plenty of folks who believe this Twitter account -- which is now suspended -- was a hoax, and hopefully that's true. But there's something about the creepy second photo that makes me believe someone really did kill that dog.

Worse, this isn't the first threatening image the fan has posted.

I kind of hate to even speculate about this whole thing, because it's either completely gruesome or a deranged joke, but if you can stand it, take a close look at this photo @illumivato posted:

Maybe the dog is just ... lying there? But to me its little face looks totally lifeless.

I hope I'm just reading too much into a prank and the dog is perfectly fine. The thing that makes me lean towards believing this is a sick hoax account is that there have been other disturbing images posted from the allegedly obsessed One Direction fan, including cats and dogs stuffed into blenders, a gun held to a little dog, and a young boy bound with duct tape. Each photo included a demand that someone from One Direction follow her account.

There's currently a nearly 4,000-signature-strong Change.org petition asking for the @illumivato account to be investigated by Twitter, PETA, the police, and other organizations. So far, the accountholder's name and location have not been revealed.

The messed up part of this story is that even if there isn't REALLY a crazy fan who's willing to break the neck of her beloved pet to get a boy band's attention, there's at least a crazy person who's willing to pretend to be that psychotic. One situation is better than the other, I suppose, but either way it's pretty upsetting.

Do you think this Twitter account was a hoax?
