prince georgeMost new moms feel most comfortable when their mom is the one looking after their baby when they're unable to. And Kate Middleton is no exception. After giving birth to Prince George, the Duchess immediately headed off to her parents' home in Bucklebury so mom Carole could lend a hand with baby duties and give her daughter some much-deserved rest. (It was even reported that Carole is the only one who can get the little prince to sleep.) And now that Kate's maternity leave is coming to an end, and it's back to the ol' grind in London, the Duke and Duchess have decided to create what's being referred to as a "granny flat" so Kate's parents can continue to help out.

Guess who's coming to dinner, Wills? Mike and Carole Middleton! Forever!

Okay, so Kate's parents aren't permanently moving in, but $1.5 million has been set aside for a two-bedroom "annex" that sits next to the Duke and Duchess' 21-bedroom home at Kensington Palace. Mike and Carole apparently already own a $1.2 million apartment in London a little over two miles away, but it's doubtful that they'd hear Baby Cambridge's cries in the middle of the night all the way over there.

Personally, I think it's perfect that Kate's parents will get a place of their own near their daughter. Clearly, the Duchess really likes her parents being around, and by having a little apartment right next door, they'll be able to help out without completely taking over Will and Kate's house. It's a win-win-win. Kate will get the help she wants. Will will still have his space. And Mike and Carole Middleton will get their third million-dollar home in England.

Did your parents "move in" or help out after you had a baby?

Teresa Giudice's Kids Are Lucky to Have Melissa Gorga as Their Aunt (PHOTO)

melissa gorgaWe all probably took it with a grain of salt when Melissa Gorga said she had Teresa Giudice's back while Tre is in the throes of being charged with 39 counts of fraud. It seemed kind of like a generic statement, a statement maybe even made to make Melissa herself look good. But as it turns out, she's not lying. Melissa tweeted a photo of all the cousins together -- as in her kids and Teresa's -- on Wednesday at her daughter Antonia's birthday party. Good move, Melissa. Ditching your mom-to-four sis-in-law would be no bueno at a time like this. And the kids need each other more than ever right now.

I can't imagine there's zero animosity whatsoever between Melissa and Teresa right now, as when is there ever zero animosity between these two women? But fighting with each other, and making things even more stressful for Teresa and her four daughters, would be a terrible thing to do right now. What Teresa and Joe did was wrong, but her children shouldn't have to pay for their parents' mistakes. And even though she acts like it's all "love, love, love" on the outside, I'm sure there's a big part of Teresa that's scared she's going to be taken away from her kids. We certainly don't need to support her right now, but her family ought to. Wouldn't you be there for yours?

And then there's the issue of if Teresa and Joe do both wind up going to jail -- who's going to watch their children? I'm sure they've got a legal guardian figured out (and I'm sure it's Teresa's parents), but it would be horrible if in the midst of something so traumatizing for the Giudice girls, they didn't have their aunt and uncle to turn to either.

All in all, this is a really crap situation for Teresa and Joe's kids to be in. One that's probably made a little bit easier by spending time with their cousins. Nice to see that, for once, Teresa and Melissa have done the mature thing and put their kids first. But let's see how long this lasts.

Do you think Teresa and Melissa will go back to fighting?

royal air marocA woman traveling from Casablanca, Morocco to Bologna, Italy on a Royal Air Morac flight went into labor after takeoff on Sunday and gave birth to a baby boy mid-flight before the plane had a chance to land.

The flight had been diverted to Barcelona, presumably after this poor woman started pushing out a baby in mid-air, but I guess her little guy just wasn't willing to wait until the wheels touched down.

And while delivering a baby on an airplane isn't exactly the birthing story every mom dreams of, this woman was graced with a stroke of luck that probably made things a little bit easier.

The flight's crew members did come to her assistance, but would you believe there also happened to be a midwife on board who helped deliver the baby? Sheesh. What are the odds?

We've seen countless scenarios on TV and in movies where you hear someone yell, "Is there a doctor on board?" when something goes down on a plane. Can you imagine this mom's relief and surprise when a midwife popped up out of her seat and came to the rescue?

Upon arriving in Barcelona, both mom and baby were taken to the hospital, and the airline says they are both doing well. And after that, the plane did continue on to its intended destination of Bologna, Italy.

And while I'm sure this midwife received more than a few thank-yous, it probably wouldn't be in bad taste if the airline offered her a few extra frequent flier miles for aiding in the birth. She certainly went above and beyond the call of duty for a standard airline passenger!

Have you ever worried about going into labor on a plane?

Stephen Colbert's 'Get Lucky' Celebrity Dance-Off Will Make Your Day (VIDEO)

Stephen Colbert Get LuckyThere are, in my opinion, at least nine thousand reasons to love Stephen Colbert. For one thing, he really cared about his mom and spoke so eloquently of her legacy after she passed away. For another thing, he's awesome at delivering commencement addresses. For a third thing, he once made the following public offer to Donald Trump: "One million actual dollars if you will let me dip my balls in your mouth."

I could keep going, but word count restrictions demand I get to the point, and that is this: out of all the fantastic Stephen Colbert moments that have ever aired in the history of television, his hilarious star-studded Daft Punk "Get Lucky" dance party may just be the best of the bunch.

Apparently Daft Punk was scheduled to perform "Get Lucky" on the Colbert Report, but they had to cancel last minute due to an exclusivity conflict with the MTV Video Music Awards later this month. Colbert even shared an alleged email explaining the no-show from MTV president Van Toffler, which, if this is real, has killed me stone cold dead because HAAA MY PEEPS ARE FEELIN FUNKY:

*Wipes tears of laughter* Anyway, Colbert basically went ahead and staged the greatest "Get Lucky" performance of ALL TIME. Matt Damon, Hugh Laurie, Jeff Bridges, Bryan Cranston, Jimmy Fallon, Henry Kissinger (whaaaaa?), the Rockettes, Jon Stewart via Skype, and the entire production of America’s Got Talent are all in on the joke, and truly, I cannot imagine how an actual Daft Punk appearance could've possibly touched this in terms of sheer entertainment.

Watch and enjoy:

How great was that? I mean, seriously? The little "…me?" face Bryan Cranston makes? JEFF BRIDGES? Oh man.

Man Arrested for ‘Dining and Dashing’ After Facebook Shaming Is Lucky He Wasn’t Punished More Severely

saul zelaznogRemember Mr. Dine and Dash, the guy who got called out on Facebook for skipping out on his restaurant bill? The restaurant, Brewster's Cabinet, asked their fans to call Reno police if they happened to spot the man in the photo they posted. Well, you will be pleased to hear that the accused dasher, Saul Zelaznog, has been arrested -- and it turns out Brewster's Cabinet wasn't the only place in town he'd stiffed.

Zelaznog (or Gonzalez, as he calls himself when it's not backwards name day) was technically arrested for a probation violation, though he may have to answer for skipping out on his bill in restaurants throughout Reno. Which he can explain! He just forgot his wallet. Multiple times.

In general I'm a little squeamish over the whole idea of shaming restaurant customers and workers via social media. I think it can go terribly wrong. People can be falsely accused, restaurant workers can get fired, restaurants can get death threats -- it can backfire. What about all the cheap tippers who crop up on Reddit all the time? Sometimes justice is served. And Zelaznog is innocent until proven guilty. But if all these accusations are true, then it's about time Gonzalezelaznog or whatever his name is took some responsibility for his careless actions. I mean, if you're not going to be super creative about skipping out on your restaurant bill, like these daring diners who jumped 55 stories, we need to come up with something. Here's a few ideas.

Wash all the dishes every night for a year.
Buy all the diners' dinner one night at each restaurant.
Literally sing for his supper -- take requests from customers and seranade everyone.
Wear a sign reading "I skipped out on my bill here" in front of each restaurant he stiffed.
Spend 100 hours of service in a soup kitchen.
Write apology notes to every single worker affected by his non-payments.

Do you think restaurant customers should get shamed via Facebook or Twitter?

Well, you will be pleased to hear that the accused dasher, Saul Zelaznog, has been arrested -- and it turns out Brewster's Cabinet wasn't the only place in town he'd stiffed.

Zelaznog was technically arrested for a probation violation, though he may have to answer for skipping out on his bill in restaurants throughout Reno. Which he can explain! Here's what Zelaznog has to say for himself.

In reference to the most recent incident at Brewster's, he claims he forgot to bring his wallet, but that he planned to pay that bill eventually, really he did. And that one time he skipped out on another restaurant bill? He totally left his watch as collateral. "I'm not trying to burn bridges around town," Zelaznog says. Yeah, funny thing, 'cause that's exactly what you're doing here. "This is a small little town," he added, as if this just occurred to him. WHY YES, IT IS, ISN'T IT, say all the restaurant owners and employers he's pissed off.

Of course, Zelaznog (or "Gonzalez," as he sometimes calls himself -- he can figure out how to spell his last name backwards, but he can't seem to remember his wallet, ever?) is innocent until proven guilty. But he does seem to have quite the following in Reno. If all these accusations are true, then it's about time Gonzalezelaznog or whatever his name is took some responsibility for his careless actions.

Profit margins at restaurants are notoriously slim. And restaurant workers work incredibly hard. No one gets a free ride, not if the rest of the honest patrons are paying their share. Saul is lucky he's not getting run out of town on a rail, old wild west-style.

In general I'm a little squeamish over the whole idea of shaming restaurant customers and workers via social media. I think it can go terribly wrong. People can be falsely accused, restaurant workers can get fired, restaurants can get death threats -- it can backfire. But sometimes justice is served. I don't know ... are all those other mistakes and slights worth catching this one guy? Maybe, maybe not.

Do you think restaurant customers should get shamed via Facebook or Twitter?

lucky charms cupcakeAre your kids as crazy for Lucky Charms cereal as most little ones are? Well then just wait until they see this over-the-top adorable Lucky Charms cupcakes recipe from Betty Crocker -- which turns their favorite breakfast cereal into a wonderfully scrumptious treat.

OMG. Why haven't I ever thought of upping the ante on regular old cupcakes before?

Since we were kids, we've all known that Lucky Charms are "magically delicious." And we can probably go ahead and multiply that description by about 100 as far as these precious desserts go.

Let's face it, we need all the luck we can get while trying to come up with fun and innovative goodies to bake for our kids, and if these cupcakes don't knock their socks off -- nothing will.

And did I mention they start with a boxed cake mix? (Less work in the kitchen is always a plus.)

Lucky Charms Cupcakes

1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow or devil's food cake mix

Water, vegetable oil, and eggs called for on cake mix box

1 container Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting

3 cups Lucky Charms cereal

Green edible glitter

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.

Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes. Cool in pans 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

Frost cupcakes with frosting. Top each cupcake with 2 tablespoons cereal; sprinkle with glitter. Store loosely covered.
