There's been major scuttlebutt happening about Harry Styles's love life going on in my house. Also, presumably, in less creepier portions of the world. The word is out that he's over Taylor Swift (and rightly so, he needs a woman of experience *cough* call me *cough*). He's got a new lady all up in his business!

The little miss in question is model (of course) Cara Delevingne. In addition to being professionally "really, really good-looking," Cara is a trouble-making party-girl. Just like Harry! Except minus the whole being-a-dude part.

While Harry hasn't made any public statement about their status as a couple, he has taken a couple of photos posing with her. This could indicate that they are inching toward going public. That said, the dude is wearing a mask. That hardly screams "READY TO COMMIT." I kind of hope they aren't dating. Because this one photo of Cara has me wondering if anyone has noticed one big, weird thing ...

That Cara and Harry could basically be twins. I'm not kidding! Look at her face! The eyes! The goofy-pretty mug! The brows! The all-of-it! I am not going to venture so far as to say that Cara and Harry might actually be the same person but ... stranger things have happened.

If nothing else it's a testimony to Harry's ego. I mean, nothing says "full of yourself" like dating your own reflection only with better hair. I know RuPaul's always saying that you've got to love yourself before you can love somebody else, but this is just weird.

Harry Styles and Niall Horan Admit Moms Hit on Them ... Wait Until You Hear How!

Ok, so I know I've already told you guys a little bit about meeting One Direction in New York City last weekend -- but please bear with me because I'm still being the biggest dork about what a fun experience it was.

And initially, I think I was really just freaking out about meeting them because I knew it was something my 7-year-old son was going to remember for the rest of his life. I mean, the kid has a One Direction toothbrush that plays "One Thing," for crying out loud, so he's more than a bit of a fan. 

But somewhere between the beginning and end of our question and answer session with the band, I became a total "One Directioner" too -- and I'm not the least bit embarrassed to admit it.

And it turns out I'm not the only non-teenage female who is crazy for these dudes. 

While chatting with Niall Horan and Harry Styles, I asked them whether or not they've ever had encounters with moms who are just as wild for them as their daughters are.

Their answer was yes -- and Niall even told me that he had a mom give him her phone number one time. (True story. No, it wasn't me.)

OMG. Can't you just picture someone who is no doubt an "old lady" in their eyes trying to slip one of them her digits? Priceless.

Although, after Niall told his story, Harry piped in with, "Sometimes that works." I took that to mean that sometimes the girls can get closer to the band if their mom makes a little extra effort by getting her flirt on. (If he really meant he's into the cougar thing, please excuse me for blushing.)

Note -- there is a chance that I totally misunderstood what he said, you know, because of his delicious accent and all. Maybe he actually said, "Sometimes it's worse," meaning moms throw themselves at them more than the young girls. (Oh man. In that case I hope he wasn't referring to me. Talk about humiliating.)

Either way, I still laughed. (And swooned a little bit. I can't lie.)

So, there you have it. Some of us moms love 1D just as much as any screaming 15-year-old girl -- and we're not the least bit ashamed about it.

Or at least I don't care what anyone thinks about me going gaga over a boy band. (Call me, Harry.)

Of the long list of ex-boyfriends Taylor Swift has written songs about, one very important ex seems to be missing. Although rumor had it Taylor had written "I Knew You Were Trouble" about One Direction's Harry Styles, she actually wrote the song before hooking up with -- and being dumped by -- Hairy Harry. So the man (boy?) needs a song. Why should that smarmy pretty boy John Mayer get a song and not Harry?!! And we're not the only ones who think that Harry needs a Taylor Swift song. He thinks so too!

The One Directioner told US Weekly:

It would be hypocritical for me to say she couldn't do it because everybody writes songs based on personal experience. I can't say I'd have dated someone less famous to avoid it. At least she's a great songwriter!

Sounds like he's just waiting with bated breath for his damn song, amiright? You can't blame him. All these other dudes get songs. He needs his own stinkin' breakup song! And then for Taylor to sing it to him at the VMAs! This is what the world needs NOW!

I kind of wonder what a Harry ditty would sound like. Maybe sumpthin' like:

I remember making out

In Times Square

On New Year's Eve

With your hair ...

It was cold

But you kept me warm

In Times Square

You were so horn (y)

Well, okay, I didn't say I was a songwriter! But if she said all that, we'd totally know who it was about, right? And then Harry would be happy. And all would be well.

5 Flirting Styles: Which One Describes You?

Have you ever been frustrated that your flirting isn't getting you anywhere? Ever failed to notice when someone was really into you until it was too late? Maybe you claim you're not a flirt ... but you actually do flirt in a way you don't even recognize. Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat, and there's more than one way to flirt. Five different ways, according to the new book, The Five Flirting Styles.

Dr. Jeffrey A. Hall collaborated with eHarmony to research people's attitudes about dating -- a study based on data from 5,000 daters. He found out there are five basic styles of flirting and that your flirting style can say a lot about the kind of love life you have -- or want.

These are the five flirting styles, according to Hall.

The Physical Flirt: This style is all about chemistry. These people express sexual interest through body language.

The Polite Flirt: This style prioritizes good manners and nonsexual communication. Polite flirts are turned off by more direct flirting.

The Playful Flirt: This style often doesn't have anything to do with romance. It's just about having fun and maybe getting a little ego boost.

The Sincere Flirt: This style is about making an intense emotional connection and getting to know people at a deep level.

The Traditional Flirt: These flirts believe strongly in traditional gender roles -- men should make the first move and women should take a more passive role. But traditional flirt men aren't cavemen; they'll usually try to get to know a woman for a long time before making a move.

So the idea is you figure out what your flirting style is, and you learn to recognize other styles. And then, for example, you're more aware of when people are flirting with you -- maybe someone has been expressing interest in you in a way you didn't even recognize. Or you can even tweak your flirting so you can get to know the kinds of people you really want. (The book goes into all of that.) I think more than anything, learning about the different styles of flirting helps you learn more about yourself and what you really want -- which is something a lot of us need help figuring out.

In the interest of science (ahem) I took the online Flirting Styles Inventory, a survey to find out what my own flirting style is. Here's how I scored:

Traditional: 0-10 percent

Polite: 0-10 percent

Playful: 60-70 percent

Physical: 60-70 percent

Sincere: 80-90 percent

Whoa -- the traditional and polite scores are no surprise. But how could I score high in sincere and still somewhat high in physical and playful? Isn't sincere kind of the opposite of those other two?

I asked author Hall to explain my results, and the first thing he pointed out was how the scores actually work. It's not that I'm part physical flirt, part sincere flirt. It's more "where you stand relative to people like you." In other words, compared with most people like me, my flirting style tends to be more sincere ... and more physical. But aren't these two styles contradictory?

"Sincere and physical are not opposed," Hall says. "They both tend to prioritize connections at the beginning. Both styles move toward relationships, just through different routes." Apparently I want to connect with people both emotionally and physically, and quickly. Hall says people with these flirting styles tend to have longer relationships. And here I was telling myself and everyone else that all I wanted was to have fun and meet people! Haha, what do I know? Which brings me to the playful style of flirting.

Hall described my high score in playful flirting as the real outlier, but he had an explanation for that, too. He says your flirting style can depend a lot on context. For example, a man in the study showed a strong playful flirting style and a strong polite flirting style. But he used different styles on different people. He was a polite flirt with women he considered relationship material. And he was a playful flirt with women he thought he had no chance with -- the old ladies at his church. In other words, his attitude toward flirting changed based on what he thought his chances of a real relationship were.

So there you go -- this definitely explains a lot about my dating life. Hmm ...

Taylor Swift puede haber esquivado una bala. ¿Su ex novio, Harry Styles, se ha abierto sobre su sexualidad y suena, um, un poco confundido?
