Robin Thicke Paula PattonUh ... damn. It might be totally inappropriate to show up on the red carpet in the buff, but Paula Patton's black, lacy dress really does make her look pretty darn close to naked.

She wore the frock for the premiere of her new movie, Baggage Claim. As much as I zoom in to try and get a closer look at this thing, I can't tell whether she's really showing that much skin or if the dress has some nude colored material going on.

Gah. She really gives new meaning to the concept of looking sexy and confident in a little black dress, doesn't she?

There aren't many women who can pull off a style like this without looking the least bit trashy or desperate, but somehow Paula makes this dress look like the classiest thing we've seen in a long time. Who cares if it really doesn't leave much to the imagination? This little number has "I'm a hot ticket and I know it" written all over it.

And she really nailed this stunning look even more by letting her hair fall loose around her shoulders, and by pairing the frock with simple black pumps instead of stripy sandals or embellished heels, which would've taken away some of the "wow" factor from the dress.

Oh -- and how cute is the red nail polish shade she's wearing? It gives her whole look a tiny pop of color that makes her look even sassier than she SO obviously is.

Huh. The only thing that could make Paula look any more gorgeous is if she lost the dude standing to the left of her. Isn't she just a little bit out of his league? (Kidding. Sort of.)

What do you think of Paula's sexy dress?

Orgasmic Birth: What It's Really Like

AppId is over the quota

fireworksEarlier this week, I talked about the possibility of using laughter to achieve an orgasmic birth -- you know, as in having the big "O" in the midst of your baby coming into the world.

And while I will probably always find the whole deal a little bit on the hokey side, there are women who are having orgasms during their deliveries, which got me thinking. What exactly goes through their heads while they're climaxing in the delivery room?

My gut tells me it's quite the scene -- and it probably goes a little something like this.

"OMG. Here comes another contraction. Holy fu&%ing sh&$, this HURTS."

(Panting like a dog in heat.) "Wait a second, I'm supposed to laugh. If I laugh, all the pain will magically go away. But it HURTS, dammit."

"Wait! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ooo! I think it's working."

"Ooo. Is it getting warm in here? And that doctor is all sorts of hot. I think he wants me."

"OMG. OMG. OMG. This feels absolutely AMAZING. Should I go for it?"

"Oh yeah! YEAAAAHHHHHH! YES! YES! YES!"

"Sigh. Whew. I think I need a nap now."

"Huh? What happened? And where the hell am I?"

"Snort. I just had a flipping orgasm in the middle of giving birth and no one noticed."

"OMG. Why are they all looking at me like that. Crap. They totally know what just happened. This is mortifying."

"Ahh! I think I feel the head!"

ian somerhalderEver since Ian Somerhalder was left in the dust by confirmation that Charlie Hunnam is going to be the big screen incarnation of Christian Grey, the Vampire Diaries' star's fans have been livid. Feeling downright brokenhearted and disappointed, they feel like they want justice to be served. Well, they may finally be able to cool their jets now that Ian has spoken out about how he truly feels about losing the coveted role ...

Speaking to HuffPost Live, Ian clarified that while he is "unbelievably grateful for all the support and all the cheering and the love" from fans who were campaigning for him to play Christian Grey, he's got enough on his plate already.

Ian elaborated, "I'm on a TV show that shoots 10 months a year." Furthermore, he says:

It's so funny, you read these blogs: 'Ian Somerhalder angry, livid he's not Christian Grey' -- I mean, no, no, no, there's none of that.

Whew! I don't know about you, but an enraged Ian Somerhalder is not someone I'd ever want to cross paths with! Eek! No, but seriously, good for him for setting the record straight -- and handling the situation in a mature, chill, professional way. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy's a bit bummed, but he gets major points -- from fans and Hollywood insiders alike -- for taking the disappointment like a man!

What's more, he's reminding fans they can see him as much as they want thanks to his existing gig with the CW! Plus, if rumors are true that he could end up cast as Gideon Cross in the upcoming small screen version of Sylvia Day's Crossfire novels, we'll get to see much, much more of him. Even more than if he had been cast as Christian Grey! And really, what could be better than that?

How do you feel about Ian's reaction to the post-Fifty Shades casting buzz?

crossRev. Frank Schaefer, a pastor in South Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is about to go on trial before the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church -- all because he officiated his son's wedding six years ago. What's wrong with a pastor officiating his son's wedding? Ah, well, you see, Rev. Schaefer's son happens to be gay, and his wedding was to -- gasp! -- someone of the same sex.

The trial is set to begin on November 18, and if things go really bad, he could be stripped of his ministerial credentials and out of a job. Schaefer says that he knew when he made the decision to officiate his child's wedding, it could lead to trouble, but it was a no-brainer. "The love for my son took over the fear of losing my job with the United Methodist Church," Schaefer said. "It was a tough decision in some sense, but I just knew I had to make it. I had to follow my heart."

Beautiful. And also ... horrible. How could a church put a man on trial for loving his son? For putting his kid's needs before his own? Isn't that what being a parent, and being a good person, is all about? Selflessness? Kindness? Love?

The fact that a good person like Schaefer could be out of a job for deciding to stand by his child is sickening and, quite honestly, something that seems like it dates back to the 1800s. There ought to be more pastors like him, not less. This is a man who decided to deviate from the archaic, group thinking in order to put what's right and, more importantly, love first. People should look to him as an example, not as someone who did something wrong.

Hopefully, Rev. Schaefer won't lose his job, because it sounds like the church needs him more than he needs it. And if he does, I'm sure he has faith that things will work out. At least he can rest easy knowing he has his family's love.

What do you think of this?

'Real Housewives' Star Reveals Weight Loss Secret That REALLY Works

housewivesWhether you're excited or less-than-stoked for the reported Real Housewives of New Jersey spin-off featuring Caroline Manzo and her family, there is no arguing that the Manzos are an interesting bunch. You have Albie who is arguably the most handsome son to emerge out of the Housewives franchise and then the whole situation with them owning the Brownstone. But my favorite player of the Manzo clan? Lauren Manzo.

Struggling with her weight on national television can't be an easy thing. Lauren's been battling to drop pounds ever since she underwent lap band surgery in September 2011 and recently posted a photo of her diet efforts on Twitter (right). Looks like Lauren Manzo's weight loss efforts have been kicked into HIGH gear.

Let's get real: We could look at a zillion bikini body photos, but something like this is much more impressive. I like to see celebs work hard to get a great bod. This intense portion control, this is something that you and I normal folk can appreciate.

... and it works, too. Back when I was really trying to shed pounds, I always found putting things into small Tupperware and planning for the day to be tedious (because it is). The truth, though, is that although planning takes effort, that effort pays off. Look at all of the awesome options that Lauren has laid out up there. You can see just by looking at her array of treats that she's prepared, and she most definitely won't go hungry.

Just think about what could happen if she didn't prepare. Instead of having ALL of those things to nosh on over the course of a full day, lady could have opted for a horribly "healthy" salad that's actually 1,200 calories alone at a nearby bodega. I don't know about you all, but I'd rather munch the whole day through for 1,200 calories than eat it all within 12 minutes.

Kudos to Lauren on putting the work in. Now, excuse me while I go satisfy my raspberry craving. Thanks, Laur.

Are you good at planning ahead when you're on a diet, or do you find it to be tedious?
