man and raccoonIf wanting Marc "Coon Rippy" Brown to keep his pet raccoon is wrong, I don't want to be right. I'm sorry, I know it's illegal to keep wild animals. It's dangerous and can be bad for them. But have you seen this guy?

Let me back up a bit. The self-professed hillbilly from Gallatin, Tennessee, recently took the Internet by storm when a video of him dancing with his pet raccoon, Gunshow, to Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools" went viral. There he is in his overalls, jamming out and dancing with abandon while his raccoon dances with him ... sort of. He followed that up with a video of him showering with another pet raccoon, Rebekah. They're both all sorts of weird and wonderful.

Only not everyone agrees about the wonderful part.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency got wind of his unusual pets and stepped in to enforce the law. While Gunshow has since passed away, they confiscated Rebekah. They say it's illegal to keep wild animals as pets and took her to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

Now poor Brown is left coonless, and he wants his pet back. He's appealing to the governor and has taken to the media to try and get his story out there. He says that while he did break the law, plenty of people do so all the time, and just because he posted a cool video, he shouldn't be punished. In an interview with Vice, he said:

My argument with them was that if this is the case, then every elementary school and biology class in high school and college is in violation if they've got tadpoles in an aquarium or a garter snake, or even if a child brings a box turtle to show-and-tell.

But when you have a raccoon on your shoulder in the shower and you make a viral video, if you've already had one viral video under your belt, it kind of draws a little attention to yourself.

As a former animal control officer himself, he says that not everyone should have a pet raccoon. He says you have to have some experience and know what you're doing.

You can't just raise it if you haven't a clue what to do. And I happen to know. It's just one of my areas of expertise. Some people are experts in electricity. Some people are experts at working on automobiles. Some people are experts at heart surgery. I happen to be an expert at whispering to 'coons, I guess.

So no, he's not setting the best example, but if ever there was an exception to be made to this law, this has got to be it. Here he is making his plea to get Rebekah back. See if you don't agree.

Do you think he should get Rebekah back?

Sam Horowitz's Bar Mitzvah Dance Goes Viral Because It's That Insanely Awesome (VIDEO)

Sam HorowitzHave no clue who Sam Horowitz is? I didn't either. I kept seeing people posting his bar mitzvah dance on Twitter and Facebook, and I kept ignoring them. I mean, really, how awesome can a bar mitzvah dance be? Turns out -- pretty damn awesome.

It's insane. It makes you want to dance. It's over-the-top, and all sorts of crazy to think this is happening at a religious celebration. There are burlesque-style show girls and a glittery object that descends from the sky, appearing to carry Sam, a 13-year-old from Dallas, down to the stage. And ultimately, there's Sam, bogeying to Jennifer Lopez's "Dance Again" like he's been doing a Vegas act for years. You have to see it to believe it.

Wow, right? It all went down last November, and it's hard to believe it took this long to hit the internet. But hit it, it has. People are mad for Sam ... or mad at his parents for letting this happen -- opinions are split.

As I watched the first minute or so, I was all sorts of indignant about parents going overboard on these sorts of celebrations. Did you see his name in those huge neon lights? These elaborate events for religious ceremonies, Sweet 16 parties, Quinceaneras, and the like, are so outlandish that it's going to be tough for these children's weddings to compete. It's overindulgent, excessive, and we may be creating little narcissists ... but then I saw Sam, and all my indignation went right out the window.

How can you not love this kid shaking his hips with abandon, like he's the happiest kid in the world. If you had the means to give your kid an opportunity to shine like that, wouldn't you? Mazel, Sam.

What do you think of this dance?

Remember that AWESOME video of Jay Z riding the subway to his concert last year? Well, Beyonce took a cue from her hubby and got to her concert in Brooklyn the ol' fashioned way over the weekend: via bicycle. Yeah, as if Beyonce weren't cool enough buying matching shoes for her, Jay Z, and baby Blue Ivy, now she's gotta go and show the world that she's just an average bike riding Joe like you and me. Check out all the details on Beyonce's bike ride (read: publicity stunt) on today's Daily Stir:

kaleido lens appOdds are, the thing you use to take photos with most is your iPhone. Particularly if you're a mom who has to lug around a ton of extra stuff for the little people in your life, bringing a big, bulky camera everywhere you go is just out of the question. It's kind of a bummer, because nothing beats the quality of an actual camera (especially a DSLR one), but fret not -- iPhones can take really beautiful pictures, as well. And the effects and apps are bar none.

Here are 5 iPhone photo apps and tricks every mom needs to know about.

1. Shapely. Shapely is an app that allows you to frame your photos pretty much with any kind of shape you want -- hearts, circles, stars. You also can add text to your photos, which makes it perfect for sending to grandparents via text or hard copy after printing them out. And it's free.

2. The LifeProof case. The LifeProof case protects your phone from everything short of a nuclear explosion, so feel free to take it into the ocean or pool -- and go underwater with it. Yep, you can get cool, artsy, underwater pics of your kids swimming around if your phone has the LifeProof case on it. Pretty rad.

3. Kaleido Lens. This free app lets you play around with the photos you've taken, making them appear as if they were taken with a kaleidoscope. No, you wouldn't want to do this to every photo, but once in a while, a pic just lends itself to this feature. And totally not something you could do on a regular camera.

4. Path On. Like Shapely, Path On lets you add text to all your photos. But this is their specialty. Arrange words any which way you like across photos. "Happy Father's Day!" across a cute pic of your kiddo? Grandpa says, "Yes, please!"

5. Facetune. Sadly, we're all critical of how we look in photos. But with Facetune, we needn't be. This app allows you to "fix" your appearance (even though you don't need to) any which way you want. Whiten your teeth; hide your laugh lines; banish your blemishes. All at the touch of a button.

What photo apps do you use?

Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s Secret to Awesome Post-Baby Body

Jenna Dewan-TatumIt was only seven weeks ago that Jenna Dewan-Tatum gave birth to daughter Everly and she's showing off that post-baby bod. I KNOW. That term. "Post-baby bod." Whyyyy??? Why are women judged on their bodies after a baby? BUT. Lemme talk about Jenna.

Jenna, who is married to the scorching hot Channing Tatum, looks good. Healthy. Not like she's been on the treadmill every waking moment since she pushed a human being out of her loins. And not like she's still got the baby inside of her. She just looks ... normal. Her black lace T-shirt shows a little heft and her gray jeans are a little more filled out, but it looks awesome.

Jenna said she had an intense craving for sweets during her pregnancy, and she obviously got bigger, but far from gigantic. Channing said of his wife while she was carrying:

She looks normal everywhere else, but she's got a little basketball up front. I think [pregnancy] is one of the sexiest things ever, for sure.

Aww, love that.

She must have not let the sweets cravings get the better of her though, as she was spotted carrying lunch during her pregnancy that was made by The Pure Package, a healthy gourmet food service popular with celebs that also has a pregnancy and post-baby diet plan. The company's website, founded by a mom, says:

Everyone knows it is important to eat healthily, especially when you are pregnant and eating for two or breastfeeding.

So Jenna must have been careful with her diet during pregnancy (and probably now), which can make all the difference after the baby is born in terms of getting your bod back. It's actually the main thing that determines how your post-baby weight goes ... eat healthy, exercise if you can, keep active as long as it's done safely ... and the weight should come off a lot easier than if you spend your pregnancy living off Krispie Treats.

Of course, celebs use all kinds of tricks to hide post-baby weight. Spanx. Corsets. (Paging Jessica Alba.) So Jenna might have a bit of that going on, but it doesn't appear so.

I think the rapidity with which celebs seem to lose baby weight can make regular gals feel insecure, but let's remember most of these photos are taken from a distance or even Photoshopped. Trust me, they've got wiggle and jiggle in places they didn't have before, they're just much better at hiding it.

Plus, celebs definitely have not only more incentive, but more resources to keep their weight down during pregnancy -- such as home-delivered specially prepared healthy meals like the one Jenna had -- and they've got trainers to help them afterwards. And most have nannies, so they've got time to hit the gym. Never compare yourself to a celebrity.

That doesn't mean, however, that we regular folk can't watch what we eat and how much exercise we get during pregnancy. There's no excuse for anyone to gorge all day and sit on your bum all night and then blame the weight on baby.

How fast did you lose your baby weight? How did you do it?
