khloe kardashianThe last few months have been filled with heartache for Khloe Kardashian. She has been dogged by reports of husband Lamar Odom's cheating (with more than one woman) and crack binges. Even the strongest marriages couldn't survive a nightmare like that. What's worse, she has gone through his misery with the world rabidly watching every single second of it. Well, Khloe let us all know what we can expect from her as this drama continues to unfold. In her most revealing and poignant Instagram post to date, she shared this ...

Those eight simple words tell it all. This was probably the best response Khloe could have ever given at this point. She won’t explain what happened to the world because she probably can’t even explain it to herself. No one gets married thinking that one day the romance will crash and burn in a haze of seedy headlines. Sure, she tied the knot with Lamar after only dating 30 days. Most people didn't think it would last four months, much less four years. For a period of time, she seemed to be the Kardashian sister with the fairy tale romance -- sweet guy, totally in love, etc.

We are understandably intrigued by her imploding marriage. After all, they have given us front row seats to their lives. But even she finally acknowledges that some things aren’t for the cameras. Now she needs to figure out what went wrong and come to terms with it in her own time. That could mean going through a divorce or trying to piece their marriage back together. However this ends, I hope she finds the answers she is looking for.

What do you think of Khloe's Instagram?

Spouse Going Through Bitter Divorce Vents in Heartbreakingly Funny Amazon Review

love crossed out on notebookMany people who go through a divorce see the silver lining, even in cases where it was an especially painful experience. They feel like they have a new lease on life, or they're reborn in a way. Some find a new passion to pursue and become an even happier, healthier version of themselves. Meanwhile, there are those who come to realize what they actually need in life ... like file folders

Oh yes! Someone clearly in the midst of a very bitter divorce recently sang the praises of Smead Hanging File Folders by writing a wacky customer review on Amazon. Entitled, "If you’re getting divorced you need these," it might be the funniest/saddest thing you've read all day ...

It reads:

These will help you organize your soul-crushing divorce into easy-to-find packets of misery when you have to go to court to battle your insane drug-addicted ex (again) over custody of your two traumatized children. Don’t put your pain in a pile! Let these hanging file folders neatly catalog the narrative of how you undid the worst mistake you’ve ever made. Your lawyer will thank you.

Aggghh. Wow. I mean, wow. Way to share so much in such an itsy, bitsy, limited character space. And in such a simultaneously hilarious AND heartbreaking way!

Some may think it's pretty strange to get over your divorce by posting an angry review for file folders on Amazon. They might assume it's neither fulfilling nor helpful nor productive to vent about the rough split and custody battle in such a random, public way ...

But hey, I say to each their own. Divorce is hard! Who's to say one person's arbitrary review on Amazon isn't another man's intensive emotional therapy? More power to anyone who can figure out an effective way of coping with their frustration, anger, sadness, grief, etc. As long as no one gets hurt or defamed, even a biting Amazon review seems a-okay.

What do you make of this?

Woman Misdiagnosed With Deadly Breast Cancer Suffered Through Chemo for Months

gavel stethoscopeIf the story about the woman diagnosed with "ghetto booty" didn't horrify you enough, here's another story out of Texas of a woman misdiagnosed with ... stage IV terminal breast cancer. Ugh. Herlinda Garcia's doctor, the late Dr. Ahmad I. Qadri, misread the results of a PET/CT scan and incorrectly thought she had enlarged lymph nodes. The mistake was not noticed until after Garcia had basically been through hell and back, believing she was dying of breast cancer! WOW.

In 2009, Garcia underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from her left breast, so when Dr. Qadri said she had breast cancer about a month later, she didn't question it. The mother of four gave away her belongings and wrote a bucket list. She proceeded to undergo seven months of chemotherapy treatment and was given anxiety meds to help cope with stress. It wasn't until 2011 that Garcia found out she had been cancer-free since April 2009! Absolutely outrageous.

She found out when she was being treated for anxiety (huh, I wonder why!) and one physician had a hunch Garcia was a-okay, which was confirmed via testing. In fact, according to the medical malpractice lawsuit Garcia filed, "all of Dr. Qadri's treatment had been unnecessary." What. A. Nightmare.

Last week, Garcia was awarded $367,500 in damages against her doctor (which were awarded from his estate, being that he passed away in March of this year). But no amount of money is enough to make up for what she went through.

Hopefully, stories like this only serve to reinforce the importance of getting a second opinion or third or whatever it takes to feel assured that you're getting the right, satisfying answers and treatment plan. I also feel like Garcia's anxiety may have had a lot to do with her intuition telling her that the diagnosis was wrong!

Thank goodness Garcia is no longer living her life in fear of death. With hope, this story inspires others to always ask questions, feel empowered as patients to always ask questions and trust our guts -- just as much or MORE than anyone in a white coat.

What do you make of this horror story? How do you feel about always getting a second opinion?

Mom Accused of Shoplifting Told Cops to 'Shoot Through Baby' to Get to Her

Ashley WrightFlorida mom Ashley Wright was arrested this week for shoplifting and child abuse. How do those two go together, you might ask? Well! Cops in Florida say the 23-year-old mom threw her baby at a deputy as she made her getaway after being busted for stealing clothes from a Dillard's.

What kind of person uses a baby as a human shield? That's pretty much what happened here from the sounds of it.

The arresting deputy claims Wright even said, "You will have to shoot through the baby to get me.”

This was about a 3-month-old, folks! A 14-pound helpless infant who was thrown, while still in the carrier, through the air. All for $261 worth of clothes?

That says a lot about the value put on a human life here, about this mom's priorities.

Granted, if you're shoplifting clothes with your baby in tow, you probably weren't up for mother of the year to begin with. But shoplifting is pretty minor on the crime scale. It makes you a criminal but not necessarily an evil soul.

Telling someone they can shoot your baby? That's twisted.

That's not mother material. That's not even pet owner material.

That's owner of a pet rock material.

Wright is charged with petty theft, child abuse, and resisting an officer. Here's hoping that will keep her away from her poor baby for a good long time.

What do you think of the charges here? Is it enough for what this mom is accused of doing?

Lea Michele and Cory Monteith's Family Go Through the Painful Steps of Saying Goodbye

Cory MonteithFor what feels like the thousandth time since I heard the sad news late Saturday, again I will say rest in peace to Cory Monteith. After the Glee actor's unexpected death Saturday, Monteith's cause of death was confirmed by the British Columbia Coroners Service as "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol." Today, news comes out that Cory Monteith's body was cremated in Vancouver following a private viewing with his family and Lea Michele, his girlfriend.

One person not in attendance at the viewing? His estranged father Joe Monteith. Joe tells TMZ that he wasn't told about the cremation until after the fact. Apparently, Joe is "totally devastated" he didn't get to see his son a final time.

We don't know much about Cory's interactions with his father or the relationship between Cory's mother and father, post-divorce. What do we know? That handling an unexpected death is never easy, and Cory's is no exception.

Handling the loss of someone close to you is heartwrenching. When that loss comes at a time you least expect it, it's almost unbearable. It's clear with the pace of things that happened following Cory's unexpected passing that his family and Lea are really "in it," so to speak. They're going through the motions.

Plain and simple: During a difficult time like this, it's so hard to catch your brain and heart up to the unfathomable events at hand. Regardless of the fact that there's no way they're used to Cory being gone and probably won't be for some time, they were forced to face the process. I'm sure that the media circus surrounding Cory's death and the information about how he passed being so public doesn't make it easier for them. To Cory's family and so many of his fans, he will always be an amazing man, a talented man, and a man with a good heart.

My thoughts and prayers are with Cory's family and especially Lea Michele.

Are you still in shock over Cory's death?
