military homecomingAny reaction is always a great one when it comes to military homecoming videos, but the reaction of this mother innocently out for a birthday dinner has to take the cake. It takes her a good 12 seconds to realize that it's her son -- you know, the person she gave birth to -- standing right in front of her. Her other son immediately hops up out of his chair and embraces his long lost brother the moment he sees him. But Mom? Nope. No clue as to who the nice gentleman who just walked over to their table is.

You've gotta see this.

I love that she just sits there at first, staring at her own flesh and blood, completely oblivious to who the heck he is. She clearly was not expecting to see him any time soon. Surprise executed perfectly. Welcome home!

How awesome is this mom's delayed reaction?

iPhone

Although black usually goes with any outfit, sometimes you just want a splash of color -- in your phone. Apple, after years of offering only two colors, has just announced the iPhone 5C, a thinner, cheaper iPhone that comes in five candy-hued colors.

What's so special about this new phone? Well, for one, it's far cheaper than any iPhone before. For about $99 for an entry-level model, you basically get the same iPhone available now but at a budget price. The phone also features iOS 7, the new operating system that pulls the iPhone out of the dark ages.

Obviously a new color isn't that exciting so Apple also released something called the 5S, a faster, more powerful iPhone with a far better camera and flash, better processor, and a built-in fingerprint sensor that allows you to unlock your phone just by pressing your finger on the home button.

Is this all a big deal? Sure. It's a massive departure for Apple to offer a phone with such a large cosmetic change. It's also cool that the 5S is far faster than even the most powerful phone on the market these days. This means you get better video and photo editing, better gaming, and better overall performance.

Apple is also making its iWork and iMovie apps free to owners of phones running the new operating system. This is an interesting move because it introduces a whole new group of users to these powerful apps and could convince people to move away from Word and Excel and instead use Apple's own tools.

Fans of bling will also be pleased: the new iPhone 5S will also come in gold.

Are you going to get one?

Tayla Carrigan and her Army dadMost 14-year-old girls wouldn't be ecstatic if their dad showed up unannounced to a school dance. But for Louisiana teen Tayla Carrigan, she couldn't have been more ecstatic when her dad, Army Sergeant Kelly Carrigan, surprised her at her back-to-school dance after being deployed for the past five months.

Sergeant Kelly, who left to go overseas in April, endured a serious knee injury that forced him to return home. While his daughter Tayla and her sister Logan thought he had been relocated to a base somewhere in Europe, Dad was really stationed just four hours away at Fort Polk. And as about 800 students sang "Proud to Be an American," Sergeant Carrigan surprised his daughter and she got the hug she's been waiting for for months.

Seriously, this is probably one of the best homecoming surprises I've seen in a while. Watch Sergeant Kelly Carrigan surprise his daughter, here:

How great is this?

'DWTS' Has Some Sexy and Downright Explosive Surprises Planned for Season 17

DWTSLast season of Dancing With the Stars was the first one (since season 6) in which the forever hot and sexy Russian Maksim Chmerkovskiy wasn't paired with a star. And it showed. I know I am not the only fan who pined for him pretty severely all season. Now, ABC execs are hinting at a return of Maks for season 17 and I say: BRING IT!!

Truly, the show was just not the same without the Chmerkovskiy fireworks, and his brother Val is just not cutting it. Besides, Maks is rumored to be dating model Kate Upton, who is currently the hottest thing around town. I am sure she would bring the viewers if she happened to visit.

Maks isn't the only pro rumored to be making a return to the dance floor, either. It looks like Derek Hough will also be making a return. Thank goodness.

When asked, Hough apparently said he would be coming back and that the format was changing. Now the show will only be one time a week, which, honestly, is probably the most exciting change of all. Other rumors include:

Cheryl Burke IS returning: Some were suggesting she may be bored, but Burke ended that when she said (more or less) that if the show would have her, she's on board.Len will be returning: There has been some back and forth talk about whether Len Goodman is returning as judge, but it sounds like he will be and it also sounds like maybe there will be a fourth judge as well.Premiere date: The show WILL premiere on September 16 and will only be once a week now. It's not clear how that will work with voting, but I guess all will be revealed in time.Mark Ballas may not be returning: Ballas has been a pretty consistent presence on the show since season 5, but it looks like he may not be returning for season 17. Or, at least, it's unclear. "The [cast] announcement is usually two days after we find out if we're on. That's how tight they keep it," he said.

So ... looks like season 17 is going to give us a big shakeup. And I say: GOOD. It's about time. Changing up the pros isn't my favorite change, but the once a week format is huge. I feel like it will draw in a lot more fans who might otherwise hate the idea of committing to three hours a week.

Do you think these changes sound good?

'The Wolverine' Reviews: Hugh Jackman's Anticipated Movie Brings a Few Surprises (VIDEO)

Hugh JackmanIf you're planning on heading to the movies this weekend, it sounds like you can't go wrong in buying tickets for The Wolverine, which is already shaping up to be a huge box office hit based on the film's reviews.

Whether you're a hard core Marvel comics fan who has been anticipating the movie's release for months, or someone who simply can't resist seeing Hugh Jackman look all buff and sexy with his shirt off (yes, please) -- the flick is bound to please and keep you entertained and glued to the big screen. (Again -- Hugh Jackman is half-naked. How bad can it be?)

Want to hear what people are saying about the movie so far? Here's a quick run down of the reviews that have come in.

"It's a bit unwieldy but its moral complexity, Jackman's acting and an absolutely stunning sequence that manages to turn the overdone top-of-the-train chase scene into something we haven't seen before, puts The Wolverine in the upper echelon of super hero summer blockbusters. Four out of five stars." -- ABC News

"... it's worth pointing out two things that The Wolverine gets right (aside from Jackman's always excellent, strong-and-silent-type performance as Logan). The first is an action sequence that occurs mid-way in the film, when Wolverine is being pursued on top of a bullet train. By now, we've all seen so many beat-downs atop locomotives that they've become numbingly similar. But the one in The Wolverine is so frantic and adrenalized (not to mention the only part of the film that takes advantage of 3-D) that the familiar becomes new again. The film also sticks the landing on a brief teaser scene after the end credits that hints at future developments in the X-Men universe. I won't spoil the pleasure of what happens. But you have to hand it to Marvel for managing to leave audiences breathless in anticipation of a sequel after making them sit through two-plus hours of merely satisfactory storytelling." B- -- Entertainment Weekly

"A crackerjack action flick, thanks to slick directing and a great-looking cast. Emotionally stunted, but you won't notice a bit." --
Newsday

"Thirteen years after his mutant debut in Bryan Singer’s terrific X-Men, Jackman, also a producer here, owns the Wolverine character. The charismatic Aussie has added some martial arts moves to his character’s slice-and-dice repertoire, is buffer than ever and shows no sign of flagging. A post-credits sequence teasing next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, has Fox execs betting fans’ interest won’t diminish, either." -- The Hollywood Reporter

"Fans of the character disappointed by X-Men Origins who have been clamoring for a great Wolverine movie, one that lives up to Bryan Singer’s early X-Men movies, should be thrilled. Those just wanting a solid, well-made action film might be surprised by how much depth Mangold brings to the mix. The results are the best comic book movie of the summer and one that rarely feels like a comic book movie." -- Comingsoon.net
