Ian Somerhalder Drops Hints That Sound Like He's Still Not Over Nina Dobrev

Whether or not he's destined to be our Christian Grey in the upcoming Fifty Shades flick, Ian Somerhalder still holds the key to many female fans' hearts ... But who holds the key to his? If a recent tweet is any indication, it sounds like that honor may still go to on-again, off-again GF and co-star Nina Dobrev.

Back from a hiatus and filming Vampire Diaries again, Ian tweeted, "Do what love-love what you do.At work by dreaded 6:30AM,like many... Love these damn people. #TVD cast&cree truly amazing people." Okay, okay, so he didn't outright say he loves NINA specifically! But he has been pontificating about how much his character Damon loves her character Elena, and thus, it's not completely nutso to read between the lines here, right?

Of his character's romance, Ian said:

[Damon] got the girl, at a great expense. It's gotta be so strange for this guy. He was so in love with Katherine for so many years, working off the naivety of a 23-year-old man. To be in love with this woman who really broke your heart, and then all of a sudden to find a woman who is identical in every way, shape, and form, who is 160 years his junior.

Again, not screaming from the rooftops that he's hopelessly devoted to Nina off-screen as much as on ... And given that she recently posted a pic on Instagram that had us wondering if she's still bitter about their breakup, I woudn't bet on them being an item again just yet. But there are likely still feelings there, and given how closely they have to work together on this upcoming season of Vampire Diaries, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up declaring their undying love for one another all over again!

Christian Greyde ex-novia, Nina Dobrev, recibió un regalo sorpresa recientemente en forma de colorido, fragante olor a las plantas. Usted puede referirse a ellos como "flores". La estrella de Vampire Diaries publicada la foto a Twitter, junto a la leyenda, "despertar hasta una dulce sorpresa inesperada. Hermosas flores para un hermoso día. #smiling."

¿A menos que tengas algún tipo de gobierno de la función de zoom en su computadora, es difícil hacer lo que dice la tarjeta, pero... podrían ser de Ian Somerhalder? Mi dinero está vosotros-no. Pero creo que esto es lo que podría estar a estos chicos locos juntos.

Cuando una dama entradas un hermoso ramo de flores que han recibido a Twitter, que básicamente están diciendo: "Mira, Oye. Alguien me ama." Y si esa mujer pasa a tener un ex que la sigue en Twitter--un ex ella puede o no puede todavía sostener una vela para--dijeron está obligado a ver la bouquet y me pregunto quién es.

Si Ian no fue quien envió a Nina estas preciosas flores, seguro que le molesta un poco. Claro, ellos terminaron y todo es justo en el amor y la guerra, pero vamos, qué valientes humanos estaría un poco celoso al ver un regalo que recibió de su ex (reciente).

Yo, por un lado, le encantaría ver estos Hollywoodites joven de aspecto exótico, una vuelta juntos. Eran tan lindos. Pero si las cosas no funcionan, eso está bien, también. Conozco a otra persona con que Ian podría seguir bien. No quiero nada, pero te diré que es la autora de este post del blog.

Nina Dobrev Is Totally Over Ian Somerhalder (No, We Swear)

Poor Nina Dobrev. She's young, gorgeous, successful, and got to see that smokin' hunk of burnin' love, Ian Somerhalder, naked. But no one cares. No one cares, my friends. She's just pitied. Pitied because she lost that smokin' hunk of burnin' -- what was I saying? Well, anyway, Nina is single now. (Sob.) But, no, seriously, people!!! This isn't 1912. Nina is a modern woman, she can be single if she wants. And apparently that is definitely what she wants. The Vampire Diaries star says: "I don't need no stinkin' man." Haha. No, she told US Weekly:

I've been a relationship girl and I've been in long-term relationships my whole life until this point, so I think I'm looking forward to spending some time with myself and finding myself again.

And, no, that is not code for: "I'm still so broken up about Ian that I can even THINK of knocking boots with someone new." Okay, maybe it is.

I mean, what is the girl going to say? "I just broke up with Ian but I can't WAIT to get back into a relationship again because I SUCK at being single, have no friends, and need a man in my life because I feel worthless"?

Of course she is not going to say that!! Because it's not true!! (Cue up: "Since You Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson.)

Nina goes on:

I'm just discovering different sides of me and growing and then I'll figure out what I like in a man when I see it. It's all about finding out what meshes and what doesn't, and what you like and what you don't. Life is about experiences, so I guess I'm just figuring that out.

Which is definitely NOT another way of saying, "I'm crushed about the breakup with that sickeningly hot stud Ian and am just waiting until he comes to his senses and realizes what he lost, and comes crawling back on hands and knees, begging and pleading."

She's totally not thinking that, you guys!!! Cut her some slack!! I still can't get over how they broke up right after they rushed their sick cat to the vet in the middle of the night. Who does that???

Anyway, it's clear from what Nina is saying that she's feeling strong, confident, and ready to discover who she is as a person. And she's totally not blubbering in her pillow every night. Sheesh, you cynical people.

Nina Dobrev Spills How She Really Feels About One-Night Stands

Nina Dobrev hasn't exactly had the easiest year so far, at least in matters of love. (We're still wondering just how she seemingly got over her breakup with Ian Somerhalder so quickly!) Still, she has plenty to be proud and happy about. Her star seems to be rising in a big way, and she's also confident about finding Mr. Right at some point -- especially considering that she's already figured out what qualities he's gotta have.

Nina told Cosmo, "You either have chemistry or you don't, but a lot of what attracts me is a guy's mind and humor and talent. I need to get to know all those things before I fall for someone. I'm not a one-night-stand kind of girl. I'm a relationship girl." Aw, good for her! Although, let's be real: What woman would openly say she's a "one-night-stand kind of girl"? Haa ... I'd guess not many! But no, really, from Nina, I believe it. She really seems to have her head on straight when it comes to finding the right serious relationship.

All too often, people say they want a serious relationship but continue to carry a torch for (or keep hooking up with!) an old flame who's never going to commit. Or have a friend with benefits. Or keep falling for and prey to the same hot but empty or emotionally detached guy. These are all totally easy traps to fall into! But hooking up with or being hung up on losers only serves to set yourself even further back from finding a winner.  

So, good for Nina to know what she wants -- and realize that's not going to happen in the form of a hookup. What's more, it sounds like she knows HERSELF, which is undoubtedly key to forging a lasting bond.

She underlined her interest in maintaining her independence, noting:

People aren't defined by their relationships. The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships.

Cheers to that, Nina. Sounds like she's well on her way to finding that happy, healthy relationship she deserves!
