Dakota Johnson appears to already be gearing up for getting in front of the cameras to film Fifty Shades of Grey. The actress confirmed to portray Anastasia Steele was just spotted at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC with mom Melanie Griffith and, according to E!, reportedly spent "a considerable time in the cosmetics department and ended up splurging big time at the Orlane Paris counter -- $3,000, to be exact!" Oof!

The gossiphounds go on to dish that the mother-daughter duo walked away with products like the posh line's hydrating serum, super moisturizing light cream, and Vivifying cleanser. Huh. While I can understand wanting to drop some dough on a few high-quality, key skin care products that you feel make a major difference ... and I realize we're talkin' Hollywood royalty here who can afford to lay down serious cash for whatever beauty products they desire, I'm having trouble wrapping my head on the idea of thousands on skincare in one fell swoop!?

Especially for 23-year-old Dakota. We can't be sure if they were shopping for Dakota alone or Melanie or both of 'em, but if there's any chance the lion's share of the products were meant for her, that's kinda sad. I hope it isn't indicative of her getting super-self-conscious about how she looks in the wake of all this newfound attention? She's beautiful just the way she is!

Plus, as much of a product junkie as I can be at times, I really can't get behind spending that kind of money on any sort of serum, moisturizer, or cleanser. After all, what could a $75 cream possibly deliver that can't be accomplished with a clean diet, lots of water, and simple, natural skin care solutions like aloe or witch hazel? Products over a certain price really start to seem more and more like snake oil.

Oh well! At least it sounds like Dakota got a chance to share some quality time with her mama before cameras start rolling. I'd venture to guess that eating healthy and a lot of rest will go a lot further than any $50 cleanser to helping her look and feel her best when Sam Taylor-Johnson eventually yells "action!"

Now that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie's leads have actually been cast (still can't believe it -- wow!!), everything from utter elation to complete BACKLASH from fans has ensued. It was apparent for a while that those campaigning for Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, and Alexis Bledel may suffer from disappointment once casting was announced. But the response to the film's actual, official Christian and Ana was up in the air. Now we know, it is a mixed bag. Which really means we have to see what Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson are like on screen as Christian and Ana before we can really make any official judgments. But in the meantime, we can guess why we may love -- or loathe! -- them in the coveted roles.

Here, reasons to love and to hate Dakota as Ms. Steele ...

LOVE: Judging from the two different times she played a carefree co-ed in The Social Network and The Five-Year Engagement, Dakota seems extremely comfortable doing sexy scenes that require her to wear very little clothing. May make for steamy sex scenes, doncha think?HATE: One word: Nepotism. I'm sure she would have gotten the role without any help from her famous mama and dads (biological Don Johnson and step Antonio Banderas), but still. I'm sure her famous name didn't hurt.LOVE: Judging from what we've seen so far, she seems to have a good range, being able to pull off both serious and humorous parts, which will hopefully make it easy for her to carry parts that add comic relief to the sometimes dark storyline.HATE: She's a relative unknown with untested star power. Does she really have the charisma it'll take to render us unable to tear our eyes away from the screen? Sure, Charlie's eye candy, but like producer Dana Brunetti said, the chemistry between the two needs to be spot-on ... Thankfully, producer Michael De Luca promised fans that “auditions were stunning, incredible chemistry.”LOVE: She has no problem going brunette, has gone brunette before, and will hopefully be doing it again for Ana, because fans will really lose it if she doesn't stay true to that very specific, widely known character traits.HATE: The character she's played so far aren't exactly, err, likable. Her character in Five-Year Engagement was downright obnoxious! Is that going to mean her portrayal of Ana may be, too?LOVE: It could be fun to see this help launch her career in a big way, then see her follow in her grandma's (Tippi Hendren!), mom's, and dads' famous footsteps.HATE: Dakota, who is rumored to have a boyfriend, and Charlie, who is in a long-term relationship, can't possibly have the kind of chemistry two unattached actors could have ...LOVE: At 23, she is the perfect age to portray Ana.HATE: She's not Alexis Bledel/Lucy Hale/Shailene Woodley/Emilia Clark/Felicity Jones or any of the other brunette ingenues we were sure of as the shoo-in.

Emilia Clarke May Be the Perfect Anastasia Steele but ‘Game of Thrones’ Could Ruin It

There is one thing that I'm sick to death of: The rumors running rampant about casting Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Can't they just figure it out already??? There is also one thing I will never, ever get sick of: Game of Thrones. So when Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO show, is rumored yet again to be a front-runner to play Ana Steele, it's hard to reconcile the fact that these two worlds are indeed colliding.

From all the Game of Thrones season 4 reports out there in Internet Land, filming is well underway. Daenerys had a major part to play in season 3, but in season 4, her role may be scaled back a little bit. Still, going back and forth between Dany and Ana, from Westeros to the Pacific Northwest, if she is indeed cast, would be quite the challenge.

Talk about a busy year! How the heck is she going to be able to pull it off?

According to Entertainmentwise, producers for the Fifty Shades movie have pegged Emilia as a favorite to play young, sweet, innocent Ana. She's also got the support of a legion of fans, though many others are arguing for Alexis Bledel, Amanda Seyfried, Nina Dobrev, and Kristen Stewart.

But let me just say, none of these actresses have starred in a show as incredible and epic as Game of Thrones. Nor did they walk into a fire and come out naked with three baby dragons! Which I thought was one of the most amazing scenes in all of television! (I have issues.) And could any sex scene with Christian Grey top the love Daenerys once had for her beloved Khal Drogo? You see, this is what I mean about worlds colliding.

Anyway, so Game of Thrones season 4 is set to premiere some time in spring 2014. The release date for Fifty Shades is reported to be August 2014. The filming schedule for Fifty Shades is currently unknown (the cosmos are still writhing in agony over who the hell is going to be cast, after all), but it definitely seems like the two would have to overlap.

Plus, playing Khalessi, the mother of dragons, has to be a grueling, intense, and emotionally taxing experience. Taking on the role of Ana would also be a huge responsibility. Millions of fans can't wait to see the movie and have put tons of pressure on the leads. Would it even be fair to burden her with both, considering how crazed fans of both franchises can get? Kind of sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me.

Well, needless to say, Daenerys, I mean Khalessi, I mean Emilia definitely has the look, the body, the acting chops, the sex appeal, the innocence, and the bad-ass-ness to play Ana. If she doesn't end up being cast (and between you and me and the rest of the Internet, I don't think she will be, as focusing on GoT probably trumps anything else for her right now), let's hope the producers in charge can find someone else just like her.

Anastasia Steele Hopeful May Not Get Cast and It's All ... Johnny Depp's Fault?

While Fifty Shades of Grey fans are pulling their hair out wondering if they're going to be GOING GRAY before they hear some news about casting, an intriguing albeit questionable rumor -- originating from The Enquirer nonetheless -- about a potential Anastasia Steele is floating around ... Believe it or not, Johnny Depp's 27-year-old girlfriend Amber Heard has reportedly been up for the coveted role, but sources say Johnny told her to turn it down. Because -- get this -- he says it's too "smutty," but beyond that, he's apparently totally freaked by the idea of her doing sexy scenes with whomever is cast as Christian.

All I have to say is ... uh, REALLY?! On all accounts!

I guess I could see Amber at least being floated as a contender ... Maybe the casting agents were thinking she could dye her hair to be brunette? And yes, she has experience in sexy roles -- see The Playboy Club and the film on which she met Johnny, The Rum Diary. She's also been buzzed about the Next Scarlett Johansson or Angelina Jolie. But do any of those factoids scream "naive, uptight, virginal" college student to you? Pfft! No way! Much more believable to see her being up for the part of Kate Kavanaugh.

And the least believable bit of the story is that Johnny Depp would discourage Amber from taking a role that could really be a major career move for any young actress. I just don't see him as a control freak jerkazoid like that -- and doesn't the 50-year-old father of two have bigger fish to fry than micromanaging his girlfriend's career? Well, you never know! But ultimately, if Johnny, Fifty Shades casting directors, or Amber herself are keeping her from being cast as Ana, I have a feeling the flick will be better off!

Heyyy, Linda Lovelace has a new boyfriend. It's official: Amanda Seyfried is dating Justin Long. (Crickets.) Justin Long -- you know, he's in, um ... here, let me Google him for us all. Oh yes, he's the guy in those Mac vs. PC ads (he's the Mac). And iSteve, if any of you are familiar? And he was in A Case of You, which no one saw. And he voiced Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks. Ooh, here we go! He was dating Drew Barrymore on and off for years.

Sigh. Yeah. Dating Justin Long is going to do NOTHING for Amanda's career. Which means it must be the real deal? Weird! I mean -- how wonderful for her. That's great. I'm just wondering if she's ruining her chances at playing Ana in Fifty Shades.

See, here's the thing. Justin is cute and all, in a boyish kind of way. But he's probably what you'd call a "good person." Doesn't he look like a nice guy? You know, all earnest and sincere. And if he really is that sweet in real life, that bodes well for Amanda's emotional life -- we're real happy for her and all that crap. But he's no Christian Grey.

If Amanda is truly serious about landing the role of Anastasia Steele, she chose well with that Lovelace role. But I'm sorry, that's not enough. She needs to submit her personal life to Fifty Shades as well. She needs to date an older bad boy. That's all there is to it.

Now we have a long list of older bad boys for her to choose from. It doesn't have to be any of the actual actors who are up for the role of Christian. ALTHOUGH now that Ian Somerhalder is single, I think Amanda's best option is quite obvious. They don't even have to date for real -- just be seen standing next to each other a lot. And if we could catch Amanda crying in her car outside Ian's house a couple of times, that would be amazing. Mascara running down her face? Perfect.

Because I really cannot make miracles happen for this girl unless she helps me help her, so --

I'm sorry ... this is so embarrassing. Somehow, Amanda Seyfried's agent has been blogging under my name! I just caught her at my desk. I can't believe what she's saying here. I would never condone dating just for your career! Amanda -- we're real happy for you and all that crap. Date whomever you like. Geez.

'50 Shades of Grey' Casting Call for Christian and Anastasia Is ON!

Whooo! We are ONE STEP closer to finding out who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in next summer's Fifty Shades of Grey movie!!! Universal Pictures is announcing that they're seeking male and female actors for the lead roles, according to The Inquistr. The casting director has reportedly reviewed submissions sent by agents and have now put out a casting call to the general public, with hopes of finding the perfect Christian and Ana.

Innnnteresting and oh so exciting! But it also raises more questions than it answers. Like does this mean that some of the "usual suspects" are definitely out? And what about the other gossip floating around that E.L. James may have recently met with a top contender to play Christian?

Apparently, the author recently left LA following an extended stay there. Sources claim the trip could have been connected to casting. And others are taking it one step further by saying that Erika was actually talking to actor (and one fan favorite for the part) Jessie Pavelka during her stay, because he's already been awarded the coveted part!

The two did tweet to one another on July 30. "At LAX... looking forward to going home and seeing @noghar," E.L. James wrote on her Twitter account, while Pavelka tweeted, "Leaving LA. A productive and fun trip. I shall see you again soon." Soon? Oh really?

Still, it sounds like nothing's in the bag as of right now. Not even the release date, which was initially reported as August 1, but has also been referred to as August 5 and August 24! And honestly, if they don't cast this thing ASAP, I wouldn't get my hopes up for any of the above!

Whooo! Estamos un paso más cerca de descubrir quién lo hará jugarChristian gris y AnastasiaSteele en del próximo verano película de 50 tonos de gris!!! Universal Pictures está anunciando que buscan actores masculinos y femeninos para los papeles protagónicos, según el Inquistr. El director de casting ha revisado según los informes, envíos de agentes y ahora saca un casting para el público en general, con la esperanza de encontrar el ideal cristiano y Ana.

Innnnteresting y oh tan emocionante! Pero también plantea más preguntas que respuestas. ¿Como esto significa que algunos de los "sospechosos habituales" son definitivamente fuera? Y ¿qué hay de los otros chismes flotando que E.L. James pueden han reunido recientemente con un contendiente para jugar a cristiano?

Al parecer, el autor recientemente dejó LA siguiendo una extendida Quédate ahí. Fuentes afirman que el viaje podría haber conectado al casting. Y otros están dando un paso más lejos diciendo que Erika estaba hablando al actor (y un ventilador favorito para la parte) Jessie Pavelka durante su estancia, porque ya ha recibido el codiciado parte!
