robert pattinsonAre you still obsessed with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's breakup? Well, I have some new scoop for you! According to a friend of Kristen's, Robert cut off all communication with Kristen after their split so they could both move on and why is this even news? It would be news if we found out Rob was calling up Kristen every day to make sure she was all right after dumping her. Or if he were calling her and then just weeping softly, unable to say a word. Or if he stood outside her house holding a boombox playing "In Your Eyes" because then we'd all want to find out where he'd gotten a working 1990s vintage boombox. But I digress. Isn't cutting yourself off from your ex standard operating procedure for everyone?

Here's the quote from Kristen's friend.

It was Rob’s decision that the two of them not communicate for a while. Rob felt like it was just too difficult for the two of them to move on if they kept in contact. They both want to be able to talk one day, but it’s still too soon and there are too many raw emotions from both sides involved.

Rob was in no way nasty about it. He actually thought he was helping Kristen by setting this boundary of no communication — that it would actually speed up the recovery process.

Rob was SUPER NICE about cutting Kristen off, I'm sure. No, but seriously, he's right of course. That usually is the kindest, most humane way to handle a breakup. Tough Love! Cold Turkey! Other Cliche! Keeping in contact just drags out the drama, when what you both need most is to just retreat to your own corners, lick your wounds, and look forward to whatever comes next.

You know what? Maybe Robert Pattinson should write a breakup advice book. I'm thinking something like How to Break Up With Your Movie Star Girlfriend After She Cheats On You With Her Director. Or A Hot Man's Guide to Breaking Up With the Girl Who Treated Your Heart Like Monkey Meat. Or 7 Habits of Highly-Effective Breaker-Uppers.

Robert Pattinson: Relationship guru. Can we please get this guy a show on OWN? I would get cable TV for that. Oh yeah, I was going to add another bit about how Rob still loves Kristen, you know, in a platonic way, wishes her well and all that crap. Does it even matter? They both just needed to moveondotorg, and they did. Good for them.

Do you think you should keep talking with your ex after you break up?

Valerie HarperIt was only in March that Valerie Harper was tragically diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and given only three months to live. OMG! How terrible. What would you do if given only three months to live? Well, if you're Valerie, who starred in the Mary Tyler Moore Show, you not only live for longer than anticipated, but you live out loud! You live like crazy. You live like everyone should live. You go on Dancing with the Stars! For it's rumored that Valerie will be in the new DWTS lineup this fall!

The official cast won't be announced for another couple of weeks, but TMZ reports that Valerie will be one of the cast, along with Leah Remini, Snooki, Amber Riley from Glee, Elizabeth Berkley, and Christina Milian. Hey, I love Valerie and will be rooting for her, but my money is on Elizabeth. Let's not forget how she shimmied down a stripper pole in Showgirls.

If Valerie does join the cast, that's gobsmackingly inspiring. The amount of work the cast members do is legendary. They really get ripped and whipped into shape. The rehearsals alone are grueling. Can a woman who has brain cancer find the energy to compete on this level? Not to mention that she's 74?

Well, might as well try, right? If she's got only a certain amount of time to live, she should go for all of her dreams. If this was one of them, then that's awesome she is trying it. TMZ says she's partnered up with Tristan McManus and has already been practicing.

And who knows, maybe the physical demands of the show will help her health. As it is, she's reportedly "almost in remission," and her doctor says she has "defied the odds." In an interview with Meredith Vieira that will air in September, Valerie says, "I just want to live every moment to the fullest."

And if that means competing on Dancing With the Stars, I'm sure she'll have millions cheering her on. So much of your health can depend on your mental attitude. Valerie has a miraculous one.

Will you watch DWTS this season? What do you think about Valerie possibly competing?

Jo Dee MessinaWhile we're waiting for the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 17 to be revealed on Good Morning America on September 4, it's impossible to ignore the rumors about who will wind up making the cut.

So far no names have been confirmed yet, though Paula Deen, John Stamos, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Dance Moms Abby Lee Miller are a few who have created quite a buzz -- any of whom could wind up becoming a reality as far as the new cast goes.

And now it looks as though the new DWTS contestants may include a country singer -- if what she had to say about meeting with producers of the show is any indication.

Jo Dee Messina posted this update to her Facebook page:

As soon as we got in [from touring], I headed to airport to fly to L.A. I had a meeting with the folks at ABC and Dancing With the Stars. I'm hoping to get on there for the fall season ... The folks out there were so nice. I really enjoyed meeting with them.

Huh. Sounds like a sure thing to me -- that is if the people at ABC decide to sign Jo Dee on for season 17.

And in my opinion, she'd be a great addition to the cast. I've been a huge fan of Jo Dee's music ever since I was in college -- but it would be so much fun to see her give dancing a whirl and also get to know her a bit better while she's on the show.

It's obvious that this is something she really wants to do, which means she'll really give it her all and put in 100 percent effort -- and that will make her a great competitor. Sometimes I feel like stars go on the show simply for publicity and aren't really into the idea of learning how to move. But Jo Dee would definitely try her best, and with any luck, she'll prove to be pretty good at the whole ballroom thing and possibly even make it to the finals.

If she does wind up being part of the cast, I'll certainly be rooting and voting for her!

Do you think Jo Dee should be on DWTS?

beauty oilsWhen I first heard about "beauty oils", I'll confess I was more than a bit skeptical. I mean, doesn't it seem weird to put OIL on your face? I don't have super oily skin, but I do have that tricky t-zone area, and I tend to equate "oil" with "grease." Oh, how wrong I was! Beauty oils are really fabulous -- I've been trying a lot lately and I love them.

There are products for every skin type, and many beauty oils are multi-purpose. For your face, you can use them instead of moisturizer or before your moisturizer, and/or as a primer for a really smooth skin surface for foundation. Some beauty oils are also great for your body (as an ultra hydrating moisturizer or a bath oil), for your hands (great for cuticles!), and still others you can also use in your hair. Then of course there are some products targeted for very specific purposes. They can be pricey, but a little bit really goes a long way. Here are some of the best ones on the market ...

FOR FACE: L'Oreal beauty oilL’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil is made with a blend of eight lightweight, fast absorbing oils. It's made to soak in super fast, so it replenishes and restores dull, dry skin and gives you a more radiant, brighter look. ($24.99 at LorealParisUSA.com and drugstores)

Use it on your face and neck; alone or before mosturizer; and/or before you put on foundation (it gives your skin a smooth surface for makeup!).

FOR FACE: Seventh Generation just came out with an awesome line of skin boosting serums made with various high quality beauty oils. From hydration to firming, each blend is formulated to nourish and treat your skin without clogging pores. Fabulous! ($14.99 each at SeventhGeneration.com)

FOR CLEANSING: Erno Laszlo Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil is designed to penetrate your pores to dissolve impurities, so when you follow up with a cleanser, your skin is so fresh and clean. ($45 at Nordstrom)

FOR ALL OVER: CaudalieCaudalie Divine Oil can be used on your face, body, AND hair (use it on the tips for a great de-frizzer). It's made from an exceptional blend of oils (grape, hibiscus, sesame, and argan) combined with patented antioxidants. It smells AMAZING. You can also use it as a luxurious bath oil. ($49 for 3.4 oz, $32 for 1.7 oz at Us.Caudalie.com)

FOR BODY: L'Occitane Almond Firming and Softening Supple Skin Oil smells like heaven and makes your skin feel divine. Not only is it formulated to make your skin more supple, it's great for treating and preventing stretch marks. ($40 at Sephora)

FOR HAIR: got2b oil-licious is a great, really affordable line of beauty oil-based hair care products designed to combat frizz and really hydrate your hair. The "Calm and Shine" styling oil leaves a smooth, silky finish. The "Opulent Smooth" shampoo and conditioner are made with argan, white grape seed, and marula oils for detangling and shine. ($3.99 each at Walmart)

Have you tried any great beauty oils?

ultrasoundFor my first two pregnancies, I was WAY too over-the-top excited to try to come up with a "cute" way to tell people. I told my husband through screams from the bathroom the first time and the second time over the phone at his office -- "Honey are you ready for number two?" I asked over the gurgles of our then 9-month-old. I called my parents before the pee stick was dry.

Still, I have always wanted to be one of those people who told everyone I was preggo in a unique and creative way. I asked around and found that I know a lot of really creative people who announced in a lot of really unique ways.

Here are 8 of the best pregnancy announcements. Hopefully it will spur some equally creative ways for you to let people know you are knocked up! See below:

How did you announce your pregnancy?

Debbie and her husband hosted a big dinner for friends and family, printed up a dozen of these little photos, put them in tiny frames, and distributed them at each place setting. Can you imagine the surprise and excitement when they discovered the meaning? How cute is that?!
