Mike O'MalleySince Cory Monteith's tragic death on July 13th, his Glee co-stars have slowly been opening up and sharing their feelings about his passing. From girlfriend Lea Michele's emotional thanks for the outpouring of support, to Chris Colfer's sweet tribute to his friend, Cory definitely left a lasting impression on his TV family.

And now Mike O'Malley has opened up about Cory's death. Mike plays Burt Hummel on Glee, who is Finn's (Cory's) stepdad and Kurt's (Chris Colfer's) father.

His comments about how he will remember Cory are nothing short of touching, and it's obvious he thought very highly of him.

He said:

He was an incredibly warm guy, a guy who was welcoming to everyone who came on that show … he was a very hard-working actor. I loved working with him, he was a great guy. I miss him very much.

In addition, he referred to Cory as "the fictional quarterback on the show and a very real quarterback for the cast behind the scenes."

Ugh. His words make Cory's loss sink in even further and become even more heartbreaking.

A Glee episode honoring Monteith is set to take place, and Mike hopes to be a part of it. He said:

Burt is a very important role to me, it’s been a great part and I’ve said to all those guys, 'I’ll work early in the morning, late at night, Saturday, Sunday, whatever I need to do to participate and continue to be on that show honoring Cory and his passing and that character.'

And none of us will be the least bit surprised if the rest of the cast feels exactly the same way. Cory's passing has been tough for everyone who loved him -- even fans at home who never actually knew him in real life -- so we can only imagine how much heartache the Glee cast is going through at this time.

At least they have each other to lean on during this horrible time and can honor Cory's memory by recalling all of the happy moments they shared with him.

What do you think of Mike's words about Cory?
