Marissa Alexander, the young mother who was sentenced to a 20-year jail term for firing a "warning shot" near her ex-husband in what she claimed was self-defense, has been ordered to receive a new trial. Alexander became the subject of much support after George Zimmerman was not arrested after killing Trayvon Martin because of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" defense. He later went to trial, but was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges. Many thought it was unfair that Zimmerman did not go to jail for killing an unarmed black teen, while a black woman was in jail for not killing anyone. Now she might have her shot at going free.

It all started when Marissa and her ex-husband, Rico Gray, began arguing in their Florida home. Gray had accused her of cheating and questioning whether he was the father of their 1-week-old child. Rico reportedly had a history of abusing Marissa, who had once been hospitalized at his hands. She filed a restraining order.

During the argument, Gray ran out to her car and retrieved a gun, which she was licensed to carry. She returned to the house, carrying the gun at her side. She claimed that when Rico saw it, he charged her and threatened to kill her, so she fired a shot, missing Gray and his two young sons, who were also in the house.

A judge dismissed Marissa's "Stand Your Ground" contention because she had originally left the house -- which ended any potential deadly conflict. Marissa, however, claims she couldn't get out of the garage and had no choice but to re-enter the house. (Even after the shooting, Marissa and Gray were still in contact and had yet another physical confrontation, this time with Gray ending up the battered one.)

The judge also said he was stymied by the state's mandatory "10-20-Life" sentencing rules -- in this case, the 20 years that Marissa received. Now, however, the judge says that the jury was not instructed correctly -- that it wasn't that Marissa had to prove she acted in self-defense, but that the prosecution had to prove she did not.

Yeah, it gets kind of tricky.

I'm not so sure things that things will go better for Marissa this time -- but it does seem unfair that in a world where people routinely get off with almost nothing for vehicular manslaughter, Marissa is serving a life sentence for a bullet that killed no one. Especially considering that she had ample reason to be scared of Gray.

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve something -- but 20 years is excessive. If she does get another chance at freedom, I hope she doesn't blow it by getting back into that toxic relationship!

Do you think she deserves another trial?

kristen stewart lane garrisonEver since Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson broke up, we've heard varying stories about each of them moving on with respective other people. There was KStew's rumored rebound relationship with Michael Pitt, and Rob's been linked with who knows how many other women including Elvis's granddaughter Riley Keough. Still, just as Robsten fans were holding out hope that the two were close to reuniting ... Kristen may be moving on -- and has already moved in! -- with another man.

It's been obvious from photos on the set that Kristen gets along with her Camp X-Ray co-star Lane Garrison, but apparently they're getting along so well that they're now living together, according to a source who spoke with Yahoo! omg!.

The source explains, "Kristen was enjoying Lane's company, and he was spending a lot of time with her at her home. He doesn't live in LA so he moved out of his hotel when they became close and moved into the guest wing of her house in Los Feliz.''

So it's just the guest wing, and not her bedroom. But who knows ... Where there's smoke (or stars living in close quarters), there tends to be fire (or an AFFAIR!). And what the source had to say about Kristen's brother Cameron's take on the whole thing makes it seem like romance may be brewing ...

The insider claims, "Kristen's big brother, Cameron, has told her he's concerned about the new relationship, especially since [Lane Garrison's] recent arrest after his jail term ... But Kristen is trying to pull her life together and she's been leaning on Lane since they started filming together. She understands his past but trusts that he's changed and is really enjoying getting to know him.''

Sounds like trouble! Especially for anyone holding out for a Robsten reunion ...

What do you think is going on between Kristen and Lane? Would you want to see them together?

Missing Oregon Boy's Mom Forced to Give Up Chance to Find Her Son

Kyron HormanUgh. Kyron Horman's mom has been dealt another horrible blow. Remember the sweet-faced little boy who went missing sometime after attending a science fair at his Oregon elementary school in 2010? The then 7-year-old is still missing, and now a lawsuit against stepmother Terri Horman is dead in the water.

Kryon's mom, Desiree Young, has officially pulled the $10 million suit against Terri, the woman Young suspects knows what happened to her little boy. Kyron's mom says she can't move forward unless cops release information necessary for her case. The problem? The cops can't release that information because it's part of the investigation into Kyron's disappearance.

Talk about a catch-22!

Terri Horman was the last person to see Kyron alive. Kyron's dad, Kaine Horman, has allegedly filed for divorce because he too thinks she was somehow involved in the child's disappearance.

And Young has said her lawsuit wasn't about the money. It was about getting answers about what happened to Kyron.

But she can't get answers because the police can't give her information. But the police can't give her information because they don't have the answers either!

Jeez Louise, can this woman catch a break? I'm not questioning the cops here; they're just doing their jobs. I don't really know that they can do anything BUT what they're doing. They just need a break in this case so they can help this family.

That's what makes this so frustrating. The cops, the professionals, can't get anywhere in three years.

A lawsuit seemed like Desiree Young's last chance to actually get answers about what happened to her little boy. Now that chance is gone.

Quite frankly, the only chances that remain are someone screwing up and getting caught -- which is pretty unlikely after three years -- or that the new attention to the case from the dropped lawsuit will prompt someone, somewhere to come forward. That's probably just as unlikely, but for Desiree's sake, for Kyron's sake, I hold out hope.

There's only so many devastating blows a mom can take.

Have you followed Kyron's case? What's your hunch?
