trapped claw machineWhat would you do if your little boy (somehow, inexplicably) got trapped in one of those claw machines with the toy prizes nobody ever wins cause those claw machines are rigged?? Would you: a) Freak out in terror and scream for help, b) beam with pride at your child's clever tactics, OR c) get super mad and yell at your kid in front of all the concerned strangers.

If you were the mom in this video, your choice would be c) get super mad and yell at your kid in front of all the concerned strangers. Because ... well, I'm not sure why, exactly. Even though I've probably had similar reactions in similar situations ...

Seriously, ever wonder why it is that some of us -- parents, that is -- get really mad at our kids when they put themselves in harm's way? Now, bear in mind, I'm not talking about big kids doing big dumb things, like a 16-year-old drinking and driving or something seriously worthy of parental ire. I'm talking about little kids who fall off tall objects they weren't supposed to be climbing in the first place or touch hot stoves they were supposed to be keeping away from or eat colorful soaps they were warned against putting in their mouths because, contrary to appearances, soap is not candy!! I mean, we're not really mad at our kids in those moments, are we?? We're more scared than anything else. But somehow, that fear and worry and, underneath it all, love manifest as one big I Told You So.

And the sad thing is, that's all our kids really take from those moments of panic-induced parental pissed off-ness: Mom is mad at me. Mom is mad at me because I hurt myself ... ?!

Maybe someday this little boy, like so many little boys, will look back and realize his mom got angry because she was scared, but for now, who knows what he thinks? At least he'll never climb into one of those machines again, that much is for sure. I think. Check it out:

Do you ever find yourself getting angry at your kids when they put themselves in harm's way?

'Angel Priest' Appears Out of Nowhere and Saves Woman Trapped in Car

Do you believe in angels? Chances are you do. Know how I know? Because apparently eight out of ten Americans believe in angels. That's more than those who believe that the sun will rise tomorrow! And when you hear this story, you may start believing if you don't, and if you do, then your belief in angels will just get stronger!

So it goes like this ... A woman in Missouri gets hit head-on by a drunk driver. Her Mercedes is totally mangled and she's trapped within the wreckage. Emergency responders are trying to get her out, but she's stuck between the steering wheel and the seat and not even the many responders on the scene can get her out. Then ... the clouds parted and harps twanged. Well, not really. But they might as well have. Because suddenly a priest appeared out of nowhere on a road that had been blocked off for miles.

According to everyone on the scene, the priest suddenly appeared just as the woman stuck in the car, Katie Lenz, began to feel life slipping away from her. He had anointing oil with him and bent over Katie and told her to relax. He said a prayer. She said a sense of utter calm came over her.

And then he turned to the firefighters on the scene and told them they would now be able to get her out. Chief Raymond Reed told KHQA-TV:

I can’t be for certain how it was said, but myself and another firefighter, we very plainly heard that we should remain calm, that our tools would now work, and that we would get her out of that vehicle.

That minute, a neighboring fire department arrived with the jaws of life and they were able to cut Katie from the car and free her.

Everyone turned to thank the priest but ... well, did you think he'd still be there? Of course not. Angels do their business and then move on.

Reportedly, the highway had been blocked for miles and there were no bystanders or parked cars near the accident.

Other explanation? A priest saw the blocked road, knew someone must be in trouble, and walked until he found it and did what he could to help.

BUT. This doesn't explain why no one has been able to find him. Apparently there are several Catholic churches in the area but the mystery priest has yet to reveal himself. Maybe he doesn't watch the news? Says Katie's friend, Travis Wiseman:

We're looking for the priest and so far, no one has seen him. Whether it was a priest as an angel or an actual angel, he was an angel to all those and to Katie.

Katie has several broken bones but hopes are high for her recovery. The driver of the other car has been charged with DWI and second degree assault.

Whether it were divine or human intervention, the fact remains: He was an angel. They exist! Why don't they always come when people need help? Well, who knows the answer to that question. Maybe it's time for some people and not for others. Maybe there's only so many angels to go around.

Have you ever had an angel come to your rescue?
