'Naughty Leopard' Costume for Toddlers Has Parents Freaking Out Over Nothing

When I heard about this Naughty Leopard Costume for toddlers, I thought for sure I was going to see a skin-tight leopard body suit with some chicken cutlets sewn in where the boobs should be. Something very "naughty" or risque and totally inappropriate for a little girl to wear on Halloween. Instead I saw this cute little girl (featured) in what looked more like a goth princess costume, and if it wasn't for the ears, I wouldn't have identified her as a little girl dressed up as a leopard of the naughty (or any other) variety.

The packaging the costume comes in reads "Naughty Leopard" and I sure don't want my daughter to be a "naughty leopard" (said with that stress you put on naughty when describing something sexual). But the costume isn't "slutty" or suggestive and I think people are getting really riled up over a word.

And then I thought more about the word naughty.

Have you ever watched Peppa Pig? They use the word naughty all the time! I guess some people think it should be bleeped. We're just so used to the word naughty being something sexual that we forget it also means "disobedient" and "badly behaved." Something nearly every child is going to be after they eat too much of their Halloween candy. So technically there will be Naughty Pumpkins, Naughty Cinderellas, Naughty Dinosaurs, and I'll have my very own Naughty Ariel and Naughty Spider-Man to deal with.

Naughty can mean different things depending on context. Just like the word pussy can. We say pussy cat with no issue. But you all know the other ways it can be said with a totally different meaning.

What exactly does a "Naughty Leopard" do, anyway? Hunts down other kids and steals their Halloween candy, perhaps. A leopard, by nature, is kind of naughty. It's not like it was a nurse costume and it was called "Naughty Nurse" and sold in toddler sizes. Then I'd have a problem ... maybe ... if there was a vinyl mini skirt involved.

There are some very crazy Halloween kid costumes out there, but this one is not one of them. Stop thinking with such a naughty, I mean dirty mind.

Revenge Websites Should Make Us All Think Twice About Sending Naughty Pics

Lawmakers in California want to make revenge porn illegal. What’s revenge porn, you ask? If it sounds salacious, that’s because it is. Revenge porn is when a lover scorned publicizes all those sexy selfies you sent back when you were too busy seeing stars to see reality.

In other (more boring) words, revenge porn is the “sharing [of] nude photos or videos of a former significant other or love interest with the intent to embarrass them after breaking up.” And in today’s social media world, it’s becoming increasingly common.

If passed into law, jerks that post naked images of their exes (or anyone else) could be charged with a misdemeanor, and punished by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. The key wording of the bill states that the material must have been shared “with the intent to cause serious emotional distress.”

Side note: I’ve done a boudoir photo shoot before. Those pics are currently in the possession of my ex. I probably wouldn’t press charges if he leaked them, because dayum! I looked super hawt thanks to MAC, an expert photographer, and Photoshop.

Anyway. While I agree that guys that try to slut shame their ex-girlfriends are icky and slimy and don’t make you question at all why that relationship didn’t work out, are they really criminals?

Ladies, here’s a piece of advice -- never hit send on anything that you wouldn’t mind the world seeing. Anything. You may think it’s totally private, but you’re forgetting one very important variable -- the recipient. You can’t control the person on the other end of your communication, and once you put something out there, it’s out there. Maybe only that one person will see it, or maybe a million will. Always assume a million.

So if you’re going to voluntarily send your squeeze some sexy pics, make sure they’re actually sexy and not just slutty. That way if they ever become public, you can roll your eyes and say, “Well that’s unfortunate; those were meant for his eyes only. But I do look pretty awesome, right?”

Because there are a lot of jerks out there, and law or no law, they will continue to be jerks that do jerky things. The best thing you can do is protect yourself. There’s only one way to definitively keep provocative nude photos of you from showing up on the Internet someday. Don’t take any.

Siobhan Riley, a reporter in Michigan, had an unfortunate thing happen to her when she was trying to draw traffic patterns onto her green screen. She wound up drawing a giant penis instead. Like, a really realistic-looking penis. Like, a penis that she couldn't have drawn better if she tried. Freudian slip or innocent mistake? Who cares, it's hilarious!

And you know what? Riley is the only reporter to have accidentally (or should I say "accidentally"?) drawn an on-air wiener. Plenty of reporters have wound up with boobs or penises or something dirty on their screen during their segment.
