If you've seen Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock or Star Trek: Into Darkness, it's hard to imagine him ever losing his cool. That's probably part of his appeal -- that and his drool-worthy British accent. It's also hard to imagine him living anything other than a very sheltered life. I mean, come on, his name wouldn't look out of place on a list of England's royals.

But not everything is always as it appears. Sometimes even the rakishly handsome British types experience experiences and that's part of what makes them choose to live exceptional lives. That's right. I'm getting deep.

Cumberbatch was shooting a miniseries in South Africa in 2005. It was there that he and two friends found themselves looking down the barrel of a gun. It's not the sort of peril you expect to find on a film set where presumably your every whim is managed. The group's car had broken down in a dangerous neighborhood leaving them sitting ducks.

He and his friends were attacked by a group of men. Cumberbatch found himself tied up and shoved into the trunk of a car. A million thoughts about his future and the possible outcomes of this attack ran through his head:

I was scared, really scared. I said: "What are you going to do with us? Are you going to kill us?" I was really worried that I was going to get ... tortured or toyed with in some way, some act of control and savagery.

Inexplicably and out of the blue, the kidnappers released their victims allowing them to flee to safety. Cumberbatch always projects an aura of stoicism in the roles he undertakes. You can't help but wonder if a lot of that strength coming from his performances is born from being a real survivor.

Actor Lee Thompson Young Found Dead at 29 in Apparent Suicide

We have heartbreaking news this afternoon. Actor Lee Thompson Young died from an apparent suicide, according to TMZ. He was 29 years old. When Young had failed to report to work on the set of Rizzoli & Isles this morning, staffers called the landlord of his home in Los Angeles. Police say Young was found dead in his apartment. They did not disclose any other details about his death. However, Young's publicist released a statement, saying, "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning ... Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed."

This is terribly sad news. Young's career included his breakout role starring in the 1990s Disney show The Famous Jett Jackson, followed by a role of running back Chris Comer in the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights. He had roles in The Guardian, Scrubs, Smallville, Akeelah and the Bee, and FlashForward. His current TV series, Rizzoli & Isles, airs on TNT. He plays Detective Barry Frost opposite Angie Harmon.

Lee got his start in acting at the age of 10, when he played a young Dr. Martin Luther King in the play A Night of Stars and Dreams. Young studies martial arts throughout his life and was an active supporter of the Children's Defense Fund.

'Solar' Actor Tom Guiry arrestado por la policía de cabezazo en el aeropuerto

Ha sido mucho tiempo desde que hemos oído el nombre Tom Guiry, quien protagonizó la película The Sandlot como Scotty Smalls, pero ahora está haciendo mucho encabezados. No son de las mejores razones.

El actor, que tiene ahora 31, fue arrestado por cargos de delito grave este fin de semana pasado en la Aeropuerto Intercontinental Bush en Houston después de lo que se ha descrito como un ajuste de alcohol combustible. Según el Houston Chronicle, comenzó sobre las 18:45 el sábado cuando United Airlines llamó a la policía a decir que un pasajero estaba demasiado borracho para volar. Cuando los oficiales estaban tratando de darle un descanso al ver si pudo ser llevado a un centro de aleccionadora en vez de ser acusado de intoxicación pública, fue balístico.

Según la policía, empezó a hacer amenazas, intentamos patear a un oficial en la cara y luego cabezazo lo. Sí, he dicho cabezazo. El oficial Afortunadamente sólo fue tratado por heridas leves, pero aún así, ¿quién hace eso?  Al parecer estaba tirando por el hecho de que era una "celebridad", pero eso no significa mucho para la policía que lo arrestó. Finalmente fue liberado después de publicar una fianza de $5.000, pero qué idiota mover toda la vuelta. Nos estás matando, Smalls!

Gente tener una copa o dos antes de un embarque un vuelo. Soy un piloto nervioso y una copa de vino de antemano definitivamente calma mi nervios un poco, pero como vemos muy a menudo, el alcohol también puede ser la fuente de un comportamiento realmente escandalosa, grosera y potencialmente peligroso para los carteles. ¿Recuerdo a principios de este año cuando los pasajeros debían cinta un pasajero ebrio abajo, o las mujeres borrachos que irrumpieron en la cabina del avión?  Una y otra vez que historias de cómo volar y beber pueden ser una mala mezcla.

Afortunadamente, esta vez el borracho fue detenido antes de abordar, porque ciertamente podría haber sacado peor si él había arremetido una vez que el avión estaba en el aire. Pero sin duda hace que un buen caso para algunos más escrutinio de pasajeros antes de que embarquen. Ojala Guiry aprender de esta experiencia y cualquier ayuda que necesite.
