AppId is over the quota

Say what you will about Miley Cyrus, she certainly knows how to make headlines. Ever since her much talked about (and that's putting it lightly) twerking performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, you've just gotta wonder: Is this a desperate cry for help and attention, or does Miley know exactly what she's doing because we just can't seem to get enough of her? Take a look at her most recent music video, "Wrecking Ball," which broke a Vevo record by racking up 14 million page views in less than 24 hours.
Guess there's no such thing as bad publicity, right?
Especially because the video features her riding around on a wrecking ball completely naked. And of course she licks and makes out with a sledgehammer as well. As she strips down to reveal her most "vulnerable" self, again, one has to ask ... is this actually art or just an overt sexual display meant to drive up the page views?
Here is the video, and it's kind of NSFW:
Quite a different vibe from her twerking performance with Robin Thicke, eh? I wish I could say she kept her tongue in control this time around, but ...
As the second single off of her upcoming Bangerz album, photographer Terry Richardson directed the video. A "source" "exclusively" told HollywoodLife.com that "she chose him to direct her video because he’s all about pushing boundaries and making a statement. That’s what Miley’s into right now .... Miley loved the idea of going naked because it suits the song -- she’s showing her naked emotions. It’s her vulnerable side and it’s not something she shows very often, so having nudity made sense."
But don't you think there is a difference between being naked and vulnerable, and making out with a sledgehammer? Some of her poses are so cheesingly (yes that's a word) sexual, it's kind of hard to see this emotional angst and only a girl who really wants to show off her hot body and grind on some construction tools.
And if you're wondering what Dad Billy Ray had to say about the video, well, here's his latest tweet after "Wrecking Ball" came out: "Trying to type, tweet, twerk and ride a wrecking ball naked all at the same time while carrying a sledgehammer is proving difficult ! PEACE." Is it me or is this reaction to his daughter's latest crazy stunt a tad disturbing? Wouldn't any other (good? normal?) dad be completely overwhemled and grossed out by this? Kind of explains a lot, actually.
Well, still, gotta give kudos to Miley for yet again stirring the pot and getting us talking. The page views clearly indicate that we're all simply fascinated/bewildered by the girl. If only we could discuss Nobel Peace Prize winners and cancer researchers with such ardent fervor.
What do you think of Miley Cyrus's latest music video, "Wrecking Ball"?
