Little Girl Gets 30,000 People to Help Find Her Lost Stuffed Animal

If you've ever lost your child's favorite stuffed animal you probably know that feeling of frustration and panic. Dear God, no! Your child has lost their most beloved friend and they're completely inconsolable without it. If only you could get the whole world to help you look for it. Well, that kind of happened. When a woman found a stuffed bunny left behind on a beach she posted a photo of Pink Bunny on Facebook -- and it was shared by over 30,000 people. I don't think I even need to say this, but yes, dear readers. Facebook helped 18-month-old Maddie Cross reunite with Pink Bunny

Now... why can't we all do this every time our kids lose a toy?

Maddie left Pink Bunny on the beach one day. (Don't even get me started on the insanity of bringing a fiber-based toy to a vast field of sand -- but that's one of those crazy things you find yourself doing as a parent.) Her parents searched and searched, but at last they had to leave it behind because night was falling and life goes on.

But someone was looking out for Pink Bunny that day. Mom of six Deborah Hitchins found that toy and posted a photo of it on Facebook: "Please share this photo and help him get back to the little person who loves and cuddles him and no doubt misses him." (So just to clarify, the photo was posted by the finder, not by Maddie Cross' parents.) People, it took less than 24 hours for that bunny to find its little person. Is the Internet magic? No, but a small act of kindness sometimes can be.

But you know that as this happy story is spreading one big idea is forming in millions of parents' minds: Hey, I should try that! I'm friends with a lot of parents, and I've never seen any of them post a lost toy. But now that this has happened, maybe it's the next big thing. Maybe we're about to get hit by a tsunami of lost toy posts. It's just waiting for us. Can't you feel it? Oh God, I'm afraid.
