Any combo of two different desserts in one is a winner, as far as I'm concerned. Ice cream cake usually takes the cake, but let's not forget that you can also make an ice cream PIE. And I don't just mean a slice of pie a la mode. (Although that is delicious, too!)
Take, for instance, this recipe for fudge sundae pie, which is ridiculously easy and requires so few ingredients, you could probably whip one up on a whim. Not that I'm trying to tempt you or anything like that ...
Fudge Sundae Pie from AllRecipes.com
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1/4 cup pecans
Directions:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine evaporated milk, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and salt; stir until chocolate and marshmallows melt and mixture smoothes and thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.Line a 9-inch pie plate with vanilla wafers. Spoon half of ice cream over wafers and spread evenly, then top with half of chocolate/marshmallow mixture. Repeat layers and top with pecans; freeze 3 to 5 hours, until firm.Click the "Like" button below to get a tasty recipe every day on Facebook.
