I'm still having a problem coming to terms with the fact that Cory Monteith is no longer with us. Found dead in his hotel room on July 13, Monteith left a legacy behind that not only affected his family and friends, but millions of his fans as well.
We've heard touching statements from Dianna Agron and Jane Lynch, as well as some of Cory's other cast mates. As more and more reactions come out, what worries me the most is someone we haven't heard from: Chris Colfer.
It was a tragic accident that no one expected. After spending years working closely with Cory on the Glee set, I can only hope that Chris is spending these difficult times surrounded by close friends and family.
While Colfer is mum on the entire situation, cast mate Jenna Ushkowitz released a touching statement on about Cory's passing, saying:
I am so grateful that Glee brought this group of extraordinary individuals together to form a family. I was lucky enough to closely experience the love and light that Cory shared with the world, as well as having the privilege of traveling down the road together on a once in a lifetime journey. Cory always reminded me to be gracious, kind, and open, and he will leave a mark in my heart forever. Thank you everyone for your constant support and love while we mourn the loss of our dear friend, and continued support to Cory's family, and to Lea.
In a concert over the weekend, Chord Overstreet paid tribute to his friend the same way that Matthew Morrison did, with song.
With lyrics like, "I just close my eyes and wait for your light," this song gives me chills. Thinking about the two actors together now makes my heart melt, remembering how fantastic I thought they jived off of one another when Chord first joined the cast.
Our hearts are continually with Cory and his family. Stay strong, Glee fans.
