After several agonizing months, we finally know who we should picture when we close our eyes and imagine the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey. The lucky winners of the sexy starring roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele are blond hottie Charlie Hunnam and daughter of Hollywood royalty Dakota Johnson. Now all that's left is for, you know, the movie to be made.

Which means ... more waiting. Sure, the team behind Fifty Shades knows exactly how excited we all are, and in that vein, they've already promised us a trailer to be released in early 2014.

The new year might be just around the corner, but it certainly doesn't feel that way. We need our Christian and Ana fix much faster than that!

How are we supposed to pass the time waiting for our first glimpse of the movie? Patience may be a virtue, but it is also so boring. We've been wracking our brains, and there are a few ways we can think of to pass the time.

We could re-read all the books, earmarking certain scenes to email the movie's team about including. We could also get our fan-girl selves on in full by creating beautiful photo collages of Charlie Hunnam (bonus points if said collages feature blingees). We could watch the entire first season of Dakota's canceled FOX show Ben & Kate to get a sense of her acting abilities. Or we could sift through the contents of the entire Internet looking for any choice tidbits to satiate our curiosity. We could even make our OWN official trailers with Hunnam and Johnson.

Hmm. So many choices. Maybe we should just watch all those unofficial teaser trailers made by fans for the millionth time. Oh, wait. We've already been doing that while we were waiting for the cast to be announced. Guess we need a little of that virtue called patience after all.

How are you going to pass the time until the trailer's released in 2014?

Alanna Gallagher Murder Suspect Tyler Holder Thrown in Jail After Hospital Release

Tyler Holder, the 17-year-old suspected of raping and murdering 6-year-old Alanna Gallagher of Saginaw, Texas, has been released from the hospital and placed in prison. Holder was admitted to a hospital two weeks ago, after he suffered a non-lethal gunshot wound to the head during a shoot-out with police officers who were attempting to serve him a warrant for his arrest. Holder is currently being held in the Tarrant County Jail with a bail of $1 million.

If all the disgusting and horrifying accusations are true, it's a good thing he didn't die in a hospital. That's far too easy an out for him.

For those of you not up to date on this god-awful crime, Alanna Gallagher's body was found on the side of the road in a residential area, naked and bound in a tarp. Police suspect that Holder sexually assaulted and suffocated the young girl before disposing of her body like a piece of garbage. His DNA was reportedly linked to Gallagher, and he allegedly told neighbors that the body in the street belonged to Alanna before anyone else knew. When police approached him, he became belligerent and shot and injured one of the officers, in turn, getting himself shot.

I never thought I would hear myself say that I'm happy a person suspected of such a heinous crime is alive, but in this case, I am. If Holder is guilty of Gallagher's violent and brutal murder, he doesn't deserve to miss out on being publicly humiliated and shamed; thrown in prison; and at the end of the day, probably killed, because Texas, after all, is a state with the death penalty (and a state who has a history of exercising their right to capital punishment). Also, although a trial will obviously be incredibly painful for Gallagher's parents, it will probably offer them more closure than if Holder died in a police shoot-out.

In a situation like this, there is no justice that can really be served. After all, an innocent child was murdered in the positively most horrific way. But if things can be as difficult and painful for Holder throughout the process, I guess at least there's that.

Pedophile's Release From Jail Puts Moms of Blond-Haired, Blue-Eyed Boys in a Tough Position

Tom Szad is a sex offender SO dangerous that when Vermont releases him this coming Friday, they are warning parents of blue-eyed, blond-haired boys of 12 or 13 to watch out. Really, Vermont? That's the best you've got?

Many parents have expressed concern in Szad's hometown of Springfield (the place he was originally headed) and even the police chief is warning people to be alert. So, what is a parent supposed to do with this information?

As the mom of a 5-year-old boy (with blond hair and brown eyes), it's hard to know how I might react to a warning like this if it described my son. For one, I might not allow him outside my house without me being right on top of him. But for a 5-year-old, that is pretty much par for the course anyway. But what about a 12- or 13-year-old? There is a whole other level of independence that has just been stolen from them.

It's the job of law enforcement to keep us safe, but the laws in Vermont essentially state that because he has done his time for his original crime (molesting a 13-year-old boy with autism), he is free to go. Just like that.

Vermont, unlike several other states, has no such thing as a "civil commitment" in which sex offenders who are considered a danger to the public are locked up beyond their prison sentences. Is it right? Probably not. But it's the reality. So what hell is a mom of a boy who meets this description supposed to do?

It's hard to even imagine. Short of keeping your son chained to you (and good luck with that at that age), there is very little that can be done. Sure, they can check in when they are out on their bikes or walking to school, but that age is such a vital time for boys (and for girls). It's a time of so much growth and the beginning of real independence.

To take that away from a child -- that sense of independence and vital time of separation -- seems so unfair. What's a mom to do? I have no doubt that there will be a lot of scared parents calling their sons 10 times a day on cellphones and wanting to know their whereabouts constantly. It's hard to imagine that their rights are somehow trumped by the "rights" of this sex offender.

Sure, this is the U.S. and we have to accept these laws, but my heart breaks for every mom who has to lose sleep over this or fear for her child's safety and happiness. This just seems so unfair.

Amber Portwood's Early Release Date Means She’s Turning It All Around in Jail

Amber Portwood was the Jenelle Evans of the first round of Teen Mom. She and her baby daddy Gary had an ugly relationship that involved domestic violence, among other things. She also ended up in jail as of June 15, 2012 for her drug addiction, among other issues.

What a difference a year makes. Word on the street is that Portwood has made a real turnaround in prison. Though she was sentenced to five years, she may be getting out in October, and she has done a lot of work toward getting her GED, which could mean big things ahead for her.

Portwood clearly did the right thing by going to prison. And believe me, I NEVER thought I would say that. Maybe Jenelle could learn from her?

I have to hand it to Amber, this is what she said all along. She said if she went to prison, she could turn it all around, and sure enough, that is what she has done.

It's not perfect. After all, she doesn't have her GED YET, but she is making progress. And she is going to get out. And she has successfully avoided other pitfalls and kicked the drug habit. Now, of course, what happens after prison is anybody's guess, but if she can survive (and THRIVE) behind bars, she can do the same outside, too.

Amber always struck me as a person who genuinely did want to get it together. While every season seems to have its own "tragic" case, maybe there will be a happy ending for Amber after all.

Jenelle? It's anyone's guess. But I'm not holding my breath. She just doesn't seem to want it as badly. Still, if Amber can do it, anyone can. If it takes jail to kick the addiction to crappy men, drugs, and anger, then bring it.

Now, we just get to see who gets to wear season 3's crown of disgrace. As of August 26, we will know ...
